British Pop phenoms JLS stopped by GMTV this morning to perform their new single ‘The Club Is Alive’. Despite being one of their first promotional appearances in support the track, it looks set to debut high on the Official UK Singles Chart this week, after rocketing straight to number one upon release on Sunday.

Rubbish.
The worst part of this whole JLS sham is that guys actually seem like legitimately cool people. However, no amount of personality can take away from the fact that they’re getting away with murder over here with these terrible songs and performances. Notice how we’ve heard little to nothing about their US conquest following their promo trip there a few months back. The US admittedly have a fair share of wackness on their charts, but nothing as bad or well-selling as this.
Randomness: Watching the above lipsynced performance took me back to a recent interview of theirs where they defended their use of ProTools and Autotune by saying they sung live for 10 weeks on the X-Factor, hence can indeed sing. Why, then, do they shy away from singing live now that they are charting artists? Make no mistake: X-Factor and such shows do not equate to paying one’s dues. If anything it is the beginning.

They aren’t singing the chorus completely live, but otherwise I don’t want you’re talking about. They’re definitely singing all of the verses live. You can hear the strain in their voices. Not a great performance, but LOVE the song.

Anyway, my main point was that – live or not – JLS are not good at all. Their singing is very poor and their dancing substandard (with the exception of Aston)/

it isn’t a rule to mime on GMTV, it is the performers right, people who sing live 90% of the time have a right to be called “performers” superstars in some cases, these (JLS) will never be one of those, they cannot use singin in xfactor as an excuse!!

@JLSFANX – actually their song still hasn’t been in the top 100 on US iTunes and it’s been released there on download since Feb.
I’m not surprised. I said this would happen.
First, JLS were singing live apart from the chorus which is hard to sing live as it is autotuned. Many songs nowadays are autotuned, like OMG by Usher, which was a hit for weeks, and yet he didn’t get any stick for that!
So many artists mime, The Saturdays did it on T4 on the beach, whereas JLS sang live, yet the sats didn’t get any crap.
JLS have not flopped in the US, they have fans over there, some are even on the jls forum.
If you lot gave JLS the time of the day, rather then pre-judging them, you’d know their album is completely not auto-tuned and they sang it ALL live on their SOLD OUT tour.
And stop assuming that us JLS fans are ‘dumb probably white 12 year old fangirls’. Actually, I’m fourteen, brown and go to a grammer school yet I love JLS and am a fan because they are so talented and down to earth.
