JLS made a promotional stop at Fox 5 Morning News recently. The group performed acapella renditions of Ben E. King’s ‘Stand By Me’ and Sean Kingston’s ‘Beautiful Girls’ for the unsuspecting ears of the viewers. Peep their performances below:
Although they may be competent singers individually, something about JLS’ harmonies just does not click. Whether it’s the horribly off-key falsettos or the blatant absence of bass in any of their voices, their sound is very unappealing without the assistance of a backtrack. Add that to their recent attempts at being ‘hood’ and everything just falls apart.

The first 5 seconds are ok but when the group got together “cringe” i didnt like it and im extremely disappointed with the whole quality of the performance!!

How can most of you say that was dire…they are a lot better then most bands out there..they can ACTUALLY sing…whereas many groups nowadays just get vocal editing..we saw them for 14 weeks..singing live every week..and your telling me they cant sing. i dont think so.

These guys have worked their butts off these last years…. they may not be “BOYZ2MEN!” but they can sing well within their capabilities. TOP DRAW! I wish JLS every success they are great guys who have got a break and are making the most of their opportunity… GOOD LUCK GUYS! go for it!!
