This was a surprisingly dull video. Although the song itself is not an exciting extravaganza, Perry’s team could have at least put a bit more effort into the production beyond front seat flirtation and half naked scenes of people on a beach. Then again, the song is already a hit so I sense that nobody would care either way.

The video was ok, however it will have to get some serious editing on that hotel scene before it airs on MTV. The guy playing the lead must have not done a music video before, he gave good chemistry with Katy when it came to the intimacy, but other than that, he seemed too serious for the vibe of this song. That’s just me. And yeah, she does seem a bit hypocritical about the whole Gaga thing-now that she becomes more naked in her videos. But it doesn’t matter, she’s pop’s princess, at least for the moment, so let her have her fun.
