R&B pin-up Trey Songz premièred the video for his latest single ‘Can’t Be Friends’ a few moments ago. Check out the racy clip, the second to be lifted from his ‘Passion, Pain, & Pleasure’ LP (due September 14th), after the jump…
Unsurprisingly, the 25 year old appears unclothed for the majority of what was a recession-special at best. Then again, having gone down the more sophisticated route to no avail with the video for ‘Bottoms Up’ (the song is still struggling to make an impact on the Hot 100), a return to the ‘sex card’ was imminent. A shame, as tight budget or otherwise, something more creative than simulating sex (AGAIN) would have done both Trey and the song more justice. Rubbish.

It’s a great simple song, I think the video could’ve been more visually intriguing. It’s time for Trey to let the women characters get more shine in the videos; we’re not so enthused by your multiple facial expressions and stressed out poses.

i like the song although some time when i hear trey sing on a track it sounds like he’s being lazy with the vocals, when i compare his vocals to Usher, R Kelly & they just sing with so much more emotion in songs like this. As for the video how many video can you make with girl practically naked looking like your have s** it seem like he wants the world record, there are so many way to make a great video but he seem stuck repeating the same tired concept which is not gonna get your video in mainstream TV.

I actually like the video. Its very different for Trey andhe was not unclothed. You making it seenm as if he was pulling a D’Angelo. He was shirtless for like a minute and a half. Most of the video is the shots of him stressing about the girl with his shirt on. I Invented S** is still his best video and I think this is up there with it.
I LOOOVE the song and the video is cool. You guys have to understand…Trey Songz doesn’t appear to be a dancer so in that sense he is somewhat limited to what he can do in a video. (We are spoiled because most male r&b singers dance). But at the same time some of you people are just OVERLY critical. Always saying “I don’t like” or “He could of done better” or something that is negative. The question is what are YOU doing? Nothing…EXACTLY.
