  2. KD September 14, 2010

She looks like Vivica Fox…that is not a good thing.

  3. Bacqui September 14, 2010

I still dont get why she is under rated!,she is a great singer!, I luv her song Impossible…

  4. xxx September 14, 2010

what were you doing with your camera??? that’s not good!

but it’s a great interview and i love how she said, that every new artist is compared to someone…which is true and a real problem of bloggers

she seems to be very smart and honest

looking forward to her album, too bad i have to import it as i’m not living in the states….

  5. Crack is wack September 14, 2010

    Smart girl very intelligent

  6. PippaFierce September 14, 2010

She looks very old in the face…..think she’s expired! Ervery artist has a window to show the world what they have to offer and her window has passed!

  7. Crack is wack September 14, 2010

    Art is ART !!!!!!!!

  8. Carly September 14, 2010

She proved how intelligent and smart she is in answering her questions! Very honest…made me sad when she was speaking about “Shontelligence” because it was a good album…shame it underperformed.

It annoyed the hell out me Sam that half of the interview was you trying to catch her out and make her say something negative about Rihanna – just like you do with all your interviewees.
Well she’s smarter than you and had you figured from the get go. 🙂

  9. Crack is wack September 14, 2010

I agree I like that she defused this idea that musical artists somehow are ALL great singing OR dancing talents alone. Nice try Sam but your stupid hate for Rihanna is making you guys look stupid and immature

  10. Crack is wack September 14, 2010

Rap music would not exist if it was all about singing!!!

  11. Crack is wack September 14, 2010

    zlove her voice

  12. carl September 14, 2010

LOOOOOOOOOOL I DIED AT: ‘What did u think of Christina’s new album?’

‘I didn’t even listen to it’ – lmfaaooo, Christina…. girl u better step yo game up cos you slowly fading.

  13. UGh September 14, 2010

She speaks well, she sings well and she seems like an all around down to earth easy to approach person.
Shontelle probably co-wrote a song as she is a real songwriter see Perfect Nightmare. who knows, maybe they collaborated.

  14. UGh September 14, 2010

SAM!!!!!!! u know u wrong for that right? Asking Shontelle to tell Rihanna you guys said hello. I could see the smirk on your face and hear it in your voice…

  15. xxx September 14, 2010

and do u even think rihanna knows you, sam?
while you sit there and hate with your 50 dollar camera, she’s acting in a 200 mil. movie

  16. September 14, 2010

This was a pretty good interview. She’s a very like-able person. She sang even though she was put on the spot, which I like. She also seems grounded.

I must say, all this Rihanna shade is starting to get annoying. We know Rihanna is talentless, we know she’s boring, and overrated. WHY do you have to constantly bring her up in these interviews. It’s hard to take thatgrapejuice seriously with all the damn shade floating around. I’m tired about hearing about Rihanna…. Ugh…

  18. mickjoe17 September 14, 2010

She seemed so nice. I agree with the other posts about hating on Rihanna. We know you guys don’t like and neither do I but it’s most definitely getting boring. Give Shontelle her time to shine in the interview without clouding it with comments about Rihanna.

  19. xedos September 14, 2010

this is why you will only get z-list artist to interview . you don’t think her pr ppl know who your f***** ass is and prepared her for the Rihanna questions. just to show how dumb you ppl are

  20. xedos September 14, 2010

Dumb camera work you don’t cross the imaginary line when you do camera work

  21. Mari September 14, 2010

Bajan invasion is in full effect! Shontelle, werk!

    “Tell Rihanna I said hello”

Rihanna don’t give a s*** about you or this flop ass blog. Why don’t you do another interview with Kelly Rowland. She’s more in your league. “Only Girl” came out on I-tunes yesterday, and it’s already #11 on US itunes. Prepare, b******. Prepare.

  22. Jay September 14, 2010

People in the UK Impossible is up to 12 on itunes keep downloading it and get Shontelle that Top 10 hit.She is talented and we love Impossible.

  23. djames September 14, 2010

What’s crazy is that her and Rihanna are good friends so I’m sure she didn’t appreciate the shade

  24. elleuk September 14, 2010

    co-sign /edisonmorales

the rihanna shade is gettin tres annoying, I just don’t understand why you guys on tgj keep
bringing her up in every post like die hard stans.
as for shontelle she came across very likable and honest but i disagree with her that artist HAVE to be wacky wierd ect to get mainstream success. Sade’s first week album sales proved that you don’t need to use stunts, gimmicks, drama or nudity to sell.

  25. Otis September 14, 2010

She’s going to blow up! watch.

  26. amy September 14, 2010

you go shontelle u are a real true bajan dont forget your roots n can carry a note plus u speak wel n can deliver an interview u go gal bajan posse..wootwoot

  27. #FACT September 14, 2010

I don’t really know much about her, but II really like this girl. I listened to couple of her other interviews and she seems very nice. She’s a natural and she has the “it” factor, plus she can sing. Good luck to her.

  28. #FACT September 14, 2010

AND DEAD @ Grapejuice asking Shontelle to tell Rihanna they said hi. Your blog drags Rihanna on the regular and you have the audacity to tell her friend to give you hellos to Rihanna. The shade is thick. LOL

  29. Brandi September 14, 2010

    Build business credit with

    We report to Experian!

  30. ULISES September 14, 2010

    She’s dope! I like her!

  31. bobs September 14, 2010

So she goes from being completely HATED on this site to rising star? Just last year, you were calling her a cheap Rihanna knock off. And we know how you feel about Rihanna. Really, agents should do some research before sending off their talent to shady queens.

  32. goats suck September 14, 2010

She is soooo much better then Rihanna IMO

  33. goats suck September 14, 2010

Great interview, love her song ‘Impossible’

  34. SD September 14, 2010

she needs some serious media training.

  35. Kyle September 14, 2010

She seems like such a cool person. I bought “Shontelligence” in 2008 and actually liked a majority of the songs and from what I have heard from “No Gravity,” it seems like this album will be even better. “Shontelligence” just wasn’t timed right. How does her label expect her album to peform during the holiday season? If I remember correctly, it was released the same day as Beyonce’s “I Am” album in November. That is a time when all the major artists release their albums. If they would have waited until January I guarantee the album would’ve made the Top 40.

  36. AuntieJackie September 14, 2010

She seems sweet! Very smart. She won a fan!

  37. XTINA IS AN ICON HERE IN THE UK & WORLD WIDE!! BITHES!! September 14, 2010

SINGER OF THIS GENERATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  38. who? September 14, 2010

Why is she critiquing Xtina’s latest if she hasn’t even heard it?

  39. HeLLo September 14, 2010

Shontelle SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gave yall a side-eye when u said tell her we said hi.
    She was like “yeah….rihght”:

    She seems real cool.

  40. Geronimo Deuces September 14, 2010

at least she is talented………….. HATERS FALL BACK

hang in there shontelle im right beside you, tshirt and impossible is my s***……….

    go shontelle go

  41. ico September 14, 2010

She is really nice and sound great

  42. Xtinawinsatlife September 14, 2010

Of course Christina Aguilera haters don’t want to listen to Bionic.

Haters are afraid that if they listen to Bionic, they’ll get punched so hard in the head from all the bad*ssness in it. Claude Kelly wasn’t lying… 😀

It’s like those “journalists” who wrote articles dissing Bionic….. they didn’t actually talk about the album or any of the songs at all. They just talked about how they thought Christina copied Gaga and that’s it. You just know these hater “journalists” didn’t listen to Bionic.

Bionic sounds nothing like Lady Germ Cacaotta Sh*t Crap.

LOL it’s a joke. The media, the haters, etc. You’re all a joke. People have bad tastes and cannot recognize talent in 2010.

But you can’t bring Xtina down. She will keep doing her thing. She remains THE BEST.

  43. Hot damn September 14, 2010

why try to pit these two bajan girls against each other. What kills me is black people are always trying to do mess like this to their own kind. Why can’t a few of us be successful without trying to tear one down to elevate the other. I doubt you would hear someone interviewing a white artist and trying to get them to say negative stuff about the other. You guys need to be more professional with your site, and then people would look more favorable on you. Cause right now you guys are not known as a fair and balanced site you are known more as a hater type site throwing shade on mostly black artists like rihanna and Trey songz.. You need to do better. Also I am happy that shontelle took the high road. She’s a very classy lady.

  44. Jay September 14, 2010

Hot Damn you make a good point. We still suffer from the crabs in a barrel mentality of tearing each other down and not lifting ourselves up.It depresses me when I am on twitter to see so many black people including Trent saying the worst things about other black people. It is down to low self esteem and not wanting to see another black person succeed. There are so many racist websites dedicated to insulting black people we need to stop doing it to each other.
I like and support both Rihanna and Shontelle-UK fans keep downloading Shontelle up to 10 on itunes.

  45. Erica September 14, 2010

    Shontelle wrote song “Roll”
    Google it

  46. knicole September 14, 2010

SHE IS NOT 25!!!! everyone lies about their age.. and she looks like she is older than 25.

  47. Hot damn September 14, 2010

@ jay you are so right. Why can’t we as blacks succeed collectively and ascend to great heights. Why can’t it be known that black people are a group of successful people not just one or two of us, but lots of us!!

  48. HUSHBITCH September 14, 2010

  49. not good September 14, 2010

jay and hot damn you guys are both right and i am not a rihanna fan but when my friend and i went to her concert since she is rihanna and i am B fan i thought that rihanna was going to sound horrible so that i can make fun at my friend since she is a fan but rihanna can sing you would know when you go to her concerte she can sing not like B but she can hold her own and now i like her and sad thing is that her vocals are so underrate because of blogs like this and they went to her concert

  50. GangsterA September 14, 2010

great interview lmao at the shades you guys keep throwin #gold *tell rihanna we said hi* diiiieeees

  51. OUPS I S*** ON YOU AGAIN September 14, 2010

  52. Lukas Mary September 14, 2010

What’s up with this editing?! e-mail me, TGJ, i’m an art student at Cooper Union in NYC working with final Cut, and i’d make ur videos look like they should

  53. Crack is wack September 14, 2010

There is also Hal Linton and Jaco both very good… from Barbados

  54. Rihsus September 14, 2010

    “Art is Art”

Loved her response to that question. She’s a good intelligent, talented girl. And to the Floptina stan up there no1currbout her anymore. Floponic is out of the Top 200 and it’s no surprise that Shontelle hadn’t listened to it. because most of the world haven’t either. And the world would also choose Britney over Floppy so deal with it.

  55. Josh September 14, 2010

That interviewer needs to GO!!! You need more reaction, dude. You. Sound. Like. A. Robot. ICK!!!! I love Shontelle though!!!!

  56. Rated X September 14, 2010

is it just me or does Impossible sounds just like Jordin Sparks Tatto song?

Dead @ Sam asking the girl to say hi to Rihanna for him.ahahahahaha

I hope she does well in the music industry cause this chick can actually sing. and am tired of hearing cat in heat sounds every time I turn up the radio.

Why u stans stay mad? cause that grape juice is the only blog who has rihanna on there everyday, nobody gives a f*** about pon de fore head anymore..s*** yall should be on yall knees kissing trent/sam feet, for keeping the girl RELEVANT..

we all know christinas last album flop, theres no if and buts about it..

  57. harvey September 15, 2010

she has some gorgouse eye’s I think the a mixture of green/brown I love shontelle eyes im copping No Gravity 9-21-10;))

  58. Frannie September 15, 2010

funny how people are commenting on her face and other BS….her TALENT is amamzing. She can actually sing. We are losing that in the industry. She is beautiful AND can sing. Unlike other artists

  59. OUPS I S*** ON YOU AGAIN September 15, 2010

Shontelle has lost her mind.ART IS ART? what the f*** that’s means?
    JLO ass is art
    Rihanna’s closet is art
    Minaj wigs game is Art
Come on,she is lost with the sucess already. I am sure if she got Nicki minaj’s funny faces idea ,she will be it.
    What happens to this girl?SMH

  60. iLoveXtina September 15, 2010

Sam’s voice is annoying as f***

& how can she say Christina has lost her mojo when these days Britney can’t sing OR dance

    (who still says “mojo” though?)

  61. GROW UP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 15, 2010

I will be checking for Shontelle.

Anyway, I have to agree with you about rihanna’s vocals. According to this blog she was supposed to be god awful live so I decided I would get my bey fix live and only listen to rihanna cds. Well when i saw her AOL session i was so surprised. She does not have the greatest voice hell my girl bey doesn’t for that matter (some is always better) but she can hold her own.

Also i have been trying to make this point about wanting folks to succeed even if you’re not a fan. Only bitter sad people get a kick out of seeing people fail. I think Jason derelo sucks as a performer but i hope does well. Y would i wish any less. Sam and Trent it’s just not even funny anymore. All this site does is bate a bunch a silly young people to get hits.

Get over the fact that rihanna is doing well. I don’t care if she is just a model in your mind. She’s getting paid to walks her pretty self across the stage and you’re busy getting pissed when people dis u and Trent on twitter. If u can’t take it don’t dish it out. Its funny how rihanna and a few others refuse to ever get on your level. GROW THE F*** UP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before u f*** with the wrong celebrity and your site turns up missing.

  62. Miss Chick Boom September 15, 2010

Why didn’t ask her about when she toured with Beyonce.

Andway, This is real Bajan talent. Rhitard is so damn overrated.

  63. itsaploy September 15, 2010

seriously does anyone knows wat rianna did tat r*** juice?

  64. Mari September 15, 2010

  65. not good September 15, 2010

    @Grow Up Pleas
thanks for agreeing with me. yeah i love me some B can’t wait for her next concert, album but i really do have a new respect for rihanna since i saw her in concert and glade my friend push me to go because she can sing and very sweet when she thanked everyone for coming and making her dreams come true and i would go to a rihanna concert next time and also buy her album. the only way you can judge rihanna if you go to concert then you can judge her because to me if someone can sing live with good vocals which rihanna did at the concert then they are good in my book plus rihanna is still young she has a lot of time to grow and become better. funny thing is that even if rihanna was good vocally they would not say cause then they would not be able to talk about her vocals to get hits.

  66. JIMMY_CHOO September 15, 2010

Rihanna #1 On US Itunes In Less Than 48 Hours…Werk Bish!

Also #1 on Canadian, And Norway Itunes As Well

Top 3 In Sweden, And Top 5 In France, And Netherlands.

Wait until the video comes out, and she starts promoting her new music…

She Is The Only “Queen” (In The World)

  67. Miss Chick Boom September 15, 2010

    Where is it at??

Talkin bout she the only girl on itunes. PUH-LEASE more like the only goat.

She sound like one of her damn stans tweeting that s***. I know she be on these blogs now.

  68. JIMMY_CHOO September 15, 2010

    Boo, you sound pressed 😉

    Who’s that T***** ?

  72. booo September 15, 2010

she looks like cicily tyson in that freeze frame

  73. Who? September 15, 2010

WTF? Who the hell is this b****? She said Xtina lost her mojo and she didnt even listen to the album? I mean wtf? Bionic is a really solid album.

    I found her on google…

“Shontelle album Shontelligence reached number one-hundred-fifteen on the Billboard 200, selling 5,000 records in its first week”

    5, 000 ? LOL

  74. Sarah September 16, 2010

I am not hating on her because she seems like a nice young lady but the fact of the matter is that not everyone is meant to be famous.

It does not matter that she is a talented singer/songwriter because she does not have star quality and in this business you need star quality and the “it” factor.

Tshirt was such a hot song and it flopped because she sang it. If Rihanna sang it it would have been number 1.

  75. XXOO September 16, 2010

She is not no damn 25. She looks 37

  76. Kisha September 16, 2010

She sounds good, people always have to talk about people, You can’t sing!!!
And she do not look like Rihanna, she just has a accent . Island girl Daww!!!

  77. daTruth September 17, 2010

I hope she does well. I love the song impossible She is very articulate and likeable and she has great taste seeing that her female influence was ‘The Voice’ herself, ‘Whitney Houston
