New Song: Mary J. Blige – ‘Anything You Want (ft. Gyptian & Busta Rhymes)’

Published: Sunday 5th Sep 2010 by Sam

Mary J. Blige appears to be switching things up with her forthcoming LP. The songstress, who is renown for her stirring R&B ballads and mid-tempos, instead dabbles in Reggae on ‘Anything You Want’ – a Jerry Wonder cut slated to feature on the as-yet-untitled album.

Take a listen to the track, which features Gyptian and Busta Rhymes below…(via Rap-Up)

Though the song’s chorus doesn’t pack the punch it needs to, it’s refreshing to see Ms. Blige experiment with new sounds. It’s been long overdue….

I don’t know how i feel about this. Sister Nancy’s “Bam Bam” slaaaaaaayed the original. They need to rework the chorus. It’s not catchy enough. But I love Busta and Gyptian on the tune.

    West Indies 2 the world!!

Busta killed it, Mary and Gyptian killed it , this is one of the best track of this year, reminds me a lot of hip hop and reggae hey days, back to basics but even in a better way, this track is great, loving it even though i think its too short, great work.

  23. kellz September 6, 2010

Yes Queen MARY. The beat seems a bit off some times with certain odd sounds, overall its a bit messy and confusing, but its still an interesting and decent effort, letting me know the Queen is experimenting with her new album. So yes MARY! I’m hoping this album is polished and perfect when it hits! =D

  32. Ursher Baby September 7, 2010

Coming from the West Indies and listening to reggae music the song sounds like a re-mix version to Sister Nancy’s What a Bum Bum. However, I do like Busta and Gyptian on the track. The beat should have been more original. *kanye shrug*
