Pop diva Kelly Rowland premiered the video for new European single ‘Forever And A Day’ a few moments ago. The song, which has been A-listed by BBC 1 Xtra (and B-Listed by BBC Radio 1) is the follow-up to chart smash ‘Commander’.

While the video left me wanting more (see: choreography), it certainly serves its purpose (to provide a fitting visual to what is no doubt a smash-in-waiting). The song goes hard and quite easily should be another hit for the Destiny’s Child star.
With things going so well for Rowland’s project this side of the pond, one has to wonder if it too will be released next year – along with the US version of the album?

It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it was genuine. I’m very pleased with Kelly on this one. I love the song and I feel that’s the direction she should go in with this project. It’s nothing contrived or too forced. Ofcourse, it was some parts that could have used some more umph – but I give this an A for effort!

The video is good. I like that it is colourful and bright but there is a special something that is missing that would have made it better. If there was some great dancing scenes (especially during the chorus) , that would have made the video match the uptempo song.

O.K. I just watched the video. IT WAS SO CUTE. I too wish there had been more in the choreography department. Anyone who followed Kelly during her DC days knows girlfriend can cut a serious rug, but as a solo artist she has never made choreo- her claim to fame. One can’t be mad at her for that it’s one of the ways she chooses to differentiate herself; because, let’s be real, if Kelly did hardcore choreography, everybody and their cousin would be comparing her choreography to Beyonce’s choreography; even though their styles are quite different (see “Commander” video compared to anyone of Beyonce’s booty-shaking clips). The comparisons are old and tired not to mention STUPID. People should get over it already. I have to say this is my favorite video from this era so far. I know Kelly has more coming so I can’t wait to see what she brings next, but this clip was really cool. The video was fun. I love the fact that it was shot outdoors in the midst of people and not on some simple set. The video for “Rose Colored Glasses” was more intimate ( as is the song) but this song and video invites everybody in to sing and dance and have a good time. I love how good it felt as I was watching it. It made me smile. The I-pod Touch concept was also really cute and creative. I loved every aspect of this video. Kelly is definately making her mark, whether certain people like it or not. I’m loving every minute of it.

I really give Kelly MAD PROPS on this vid. I mean come on lets face it people!! This video in my opinion is up for the best pop urban vid of the year. I like reading comments and a lot of people speak about dance break downs, but when you really pay attention to the vid, most of this song is chilling with friends/riding around your hood, just chillin….Who about to be doing dance moves and choreography?? This is the first time she has really connected the dots for me, I really like this as a UK single, she sounds good, nothing forced about the melody or her vocal performance and she sound really good for once (I get that she can sing but she’s usually lacking something). Regarding her project and the early description this is a great bridge between dance and rnb after Commander, forget expecting B level success for her, that’s somethin that elludes most chicks in this game but if the music’s good and pleases her audiences Kelly could have a moderate success on her hands to build from. Ok, with this song I am now officially interested in what she might now bring:-)
