X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole employed the use of studio wizardry to aid her much-hyped performance on the hit ITV1 show tonight. This despite vowing to ‘sing live’ earlier this week.

As well as the hordes of distracting weave, it was difficult to overlook Cole’s blatant lipsyncing. The 27 year old, who struggles to sound good standing still, is supposedly note-perfect when whipping her hair up and down the stage? Please.
Fans of Janet, Jennifer Lopez, and even Beyonce (occasionally), will be well-versed in their art of pre-recording – something Ms. Cole has clearly been paying attention to. Add a few breathy parts, ‘ooh’s’ and ‘ahh’s’ into the performance, and bingo…a ‘live performance’. Not impressed.

You would think with all the money she earns she could hires a good vocal coach & with a lot of practice pull off one good live performance but NO she too scared & lazy to even try which is why people will always give her a hard time as a singer. She was at least 90% LIVE with this performance. I agree some parts were mimed but a huge amount of it was LIVE…. she only done what a lot of other artists do. Last week Usher wasn’t 100% live. TGJ clearly just have a lot of hate for Cheryl but at the end of the day the song will still be a smash as will the album and Cheryl will be around for a few years yet so get used to it.
On a final note you can’t say it’s okay for some artists to mime and not others thats double standards which I have noticed happens A LOT on this site!!! lol

TBH I expected more from Cheryl performance wise, her dancing wasn’t even that great IMO although towards the end i saw her trying to go Beyonce with that breakdown and B face when the camera zoomed in on her lol
I actually like the song (the only one of hers i do besides “Parachute”) but i think it’s the “Alouette” that makes it so catchy. She mimed most of it but you could tell she sang abit because those bit’s sounded raw and not in a good way.
I think she gets so much shine as a dancer because at the moment there arn’t many girls that dance in Britain, in fact there are no others and all the others like Beyonce, Britney, Janet & JLO are out of action at the moment and we all know Ciara would die before she actually performs on TV.

Im actually a cheryl cole fan but even i can’t deny she mimed! She’s not a strong singer but is a class dancer! She put on a good show and enphasised her strong point (dancing) but probably shud have attempted a verse or something since it’s a singing competion! It’s the same with usher last week!

What I do appreciate is the overall performance which i think she did very well on.

She’s a disgrace- she has the nerve to sit there and judge contestants and critique them like some sort of expert but then she gets on the stage and mimes like some sort of amateur. If she gets the US X-factor gig I hope the American media rips her to shreds.
She isn’t a bad dancer but that alone doesn’t warrant her all the success that she has achieved. Its pure hype and marketing that have gotten her where she is today. I’d love to have seen her on stage by herself and without an army of dancers to see how well she had done. She’s nothing without big stage productions and pre-recorded vocals.

Well I’m starting to warm to her now. I think she is stepping up her game and it was a good performance.
I think that Cheryl cole is a joke- can’t sing, thin voice, miming and high school dancing. NOt impressed at all. she won’t make it here. The Brits are easily impressed with a pretty face and that’s about all she has going for her.

I have no idea who the hell she is. I just researched her and couldn’t believe how strikingly beautiful she is! Wow, she’s hot as hell and I don’t mean that in a homo way. The performance wasn’t bad but the song sucks and so does her voice! I mean, she sings better than most of the singers out right now, but she sounds like an American country singer… at least in that song she does. Her dancing was okay, but I agree with the person who said her performances wouldn’t be nothing without all of those backup dancers and the extravagant stage. People like Lady Gaga and Rihanna do that all the time.
