Ciara has finally announced the official release date of her new album, ‘Basic Instinct’. The ‘Gimme Dat’ performer broke the news via Ustream moments ago that the record, which is preceded by the singles ‘Ride’ and ‘Speechless’, will be in stores in before the end of the year.

No one is fucken hating ! I’m a Ciara fan, but this whole project has not been handled properly. She’s been at it since April with “Ride,” and has not yet released her album. It’s been how many months and she has not even hit the top 20 in the Billboard 100. Who the f*** waits that long? You can only go off of hype for so long! She should have never released “Ride” or “Speechless,” they did absolutely nothing for her. She should have released “Gimmie Dat” from the start even if it is just a good, but not GREAT song.
WHAT PROMO HAS SHE DONE SINCE APRIL?! Very little! I don’t believe she is putting her best effort. Don’t get me wrong “GIMMIE DAT” was and amazing video, but that’s all she has contributed to this project.
I hate it what fucken “stans” are delusional as f***. You can support an artist, but it doesn’t mean you have to LOVE everything they do. Being a fan means being critical where needed.
Ciara is amazing, but she isn’t Susan Boyle, Kanye, Taylor, or even Rihanna and can sell records weeks after weeks.
I think they handled this project all wrong. “Basic Instinct” is not a cohesive project. It’s all over the fucken place. Until she does live promotion besides modeling, I will continue to continue to be hard on her because that is what a true fan does, not one that licks their favorites’ asses just because!
I’m not hating i’m just speaking my mind. I never said she can’t sing, dance, or have any success.

I will definitely get this album. Couldn’t she have confirmed this like 3 weeks ago when Amazon changed it and she told us not to believe any of the dates? I still say that her label should’ve released it back in August because now she will be competing with pretty much everyone on this planet this holiday season. Does anyone know if she has a date when “GImmie Dat” will be released to Itunes? I really hope her label pushes this song and “Speechless.” They have more than 2 months to get on their promo grind on so if all goes right, Ciara should do well. At this point I don’t care about high sales really. As long as she exceeds 195K that “Fantasy Ride” sold I’ll be happy.

I won’t lie, the video has definitely got me blasting “Gimme Dat”. I loved the video (I already loved the song)….mmm but unless she goes out and does some serious promo…I dont think the buzz will hold up until 12/14. To be honest, I’ve not liked any of her songs that have been released/leaked but Gimme Dat…I haven’t bought a Ciara album since the 1st record. I honestly think Ciara should push this album to next year, irrespective of the multiple pushes she’s done already, in order to achieve some sort of success – if she can. She’ll be faced with numerous competition during this December, mega sellers will have debued during that time (i.e Susan Boyle, Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Rihanna), and the fact that she doesn’t even have a power single to lift the record makes her situation more worse, and doesn’t make me think twice about the fact that she’ll flop once more. Ciara is going to shock a lot of people. i truly and hope this album does good. I f you look what other music is out as far as Urban music, ciara has it hands down.
