Here is a new song from Hip-Hop titan Nelly. ‘Long Gone’, which features Chris Brown and Plies, will appear on his upcoming album, ‘Nelly 5.0’ (due on November 16th). Give it a listen below:
Clearly this track has yet to be mastered. However, it is quite solid and has a great beat for radio. The only gripe that I have with the song is the almost rambunctious verse from Plies which was almost abrasive. It sounded out of place amongst the smooth melodies and lush production. Seriously, the last thing anyone wants to hear is a self-proclaimed “goon” chanting about “bitches” and “whores” in every other sentence. That was not the business.

So this is the track Nelly was talking about that Chris & Polow Da Don wrote/produced. It’s a nice track. I heard the unfinished version I believe couple months ago. I also believe Plies ruins the flow of the song with all of his screaming.

Plies is so f****** ignant, not ignorant but ignant. I can’t stand him. I liked his first album but after that he just starting pushing it with the hood ish. Like seriously, gain some class, that hood s*** is not cute no more unless you are some dirty hoodrat. And the funny thing is that he is not even from the ‘hood’. He grew up in a middle class family and went to college. FAKE ASS THUG!!

I heard this song I believe on Ustream a little while back. I think Chris played a clip of this when he was working in the studio. The song is nice…without Plies that is. 🙂

Yes! He went to college for nursing I think. When he came to my college’s homecoming, the dude talks SO damn proper I didn’t think it was really him! I was so shocked! He’s southern accent is so fake because he talks like a newsreporter!
@Keesha: I saw that too! CB played this for us a while ago on his Ustream, I didn’t realize that it was actually gonna be released. I just thought he was playing some old unfnished stuff.
I like the song a lot though. The beat and production is crazy! It could be a hit if they release it. I wonder why they left of CB’s verse. *shrugs* Hopefully it will be on the mastered version.
Now if they just get rid of Plies annoying illiterate ass it would be perfect! All Plies does is scream, it’s like its impossible for him to go with the flow of the track! Ugh! Maybe they will drop his ass like Usher did with ‘Hey Daddy’, cause he is so not needed!
