The remix of Rihanna’s 2nd single from her upcoming ‘Loud’ album (in stores on November 16th) has surfaced. The song, which already has a video waiting to be released, features Drake. Check it out below:
The production on this track is quite impressive and, shockingly, Rihanna’s vocals are actually bearable. Although the studio mechanics used to correct her pitch are blatantly obvious, she sounded more comfortable trying to sing this song that the screehfest that was ‘Only Parrot (In The Cage)’ ‘Only Girl (In The World)’. On the other hand, Drake sounded the same as always.
Kudos to Rihanna’s team of producers and studio technicians for making her sound average. They literally made water come from stone on this record. Miracles do exist.

I don’t care for this song. That “Oh Na Na” part is annoying as hell but I guess that’s the point. Her producers are smart because they know how to play with her annoying but distinctive and heavy accent. They know that repetitive and memory is what makes a song a hit so therefore, that’s why Rihanna is always making those weird sounds in her songs. I can’t stand them because her voice is horrible, but they do stay in your head. I wouldn’t see this as being a hit because it’s too mellow and that makes it boring. Plus the beat isn’t all that. Umm how was anyone supposed to buy CB’s album when it was blackballed and it wasn’t to a degree available to the fans? Even so you can’t really determine if his fans buy his albums until his next one.
Lastly he didn’t go on a worldwide tour this year. But as far as his Fan Appreciation short Tour which was only like 3000 seats in the US with 20 dates….all his fans went to that one. That sold out the 20 dates.
His fans went to his shows in Brazil. And the last show was a medium sized venue. And his UK Tour is postponed to January and that sold well(not sure of the exact sales). Extra venues were added and Manchester sold out in 20 minutes.

They’re the kind of stans that will make you hate the artist if you didn’t already like her beforehand. Same with Adam Lambert stans. There is the Billboard 200 albums, Pop songs, Jazz songs, Rap Songs, Dance/ Electro songs, Country, R&b/Hip Hop and of course the Hot 100! Hot 100 is a collection of the hottest songs (according to some) in every genre, rap, r&b, pop, dance etc. that get the most downloads and airplay. ‘Deuces’ was released as a FREE mixapte song for months before it was a released to iTunes, yet it still reached No.1 on the R&b charts and is still top 20 on Hot 100!
‘Deuces’ is an r&b record, so of course it is gonna top the r&b charts! If you notice, the majority of the songs in the top 20, especially top 10, are upbeat pop/ dance tracks which is far from what ‘Deuces’ is. ‘Deuces’ is more of a smooth laid back r&b song that you can’t really dance too, it isn’t a ‘feel good’ record and it features two relatively unknown rappers,Tyga and K-Mac! Songs like that usually don’t do well on Billboard Hot 100, yet there it is sitting at No. 17 and has remained in the top 20 for 3 weeks now!
Ya’ll swore CB wouldn’t get another No. 1 and then when he does, you try to say ‘Oh well, it’s just on the r&b charts, so it doesn’t count!’ GTFOH!!! Please give it up! ‘Dueces’ is a hit! Point, Blank, Period! When he release a more upbeat pop single that you can dance to, i.e. ‘Yeah 3x’, it will undoubtedly do better on Hot 100 because it is something that will appeal to a broader audience.
Usher, Alicia Keys, Monica, Drake have all toped the r&b charts this year, do their No. 1s not count for them either?? Or does it only apply to CB??
“What’s My Name” is clearly a urban single that is geared towards a more urban audience. Now if “What’s My Name’ goes No. 1 on the r&b charts, (highly doubt it) ya’ll would be the first ones saying she got another No.1.

Oh my God you’re so right! They do sound SO alike. Anyways, that’s true. It kind of was…overshadowed by “Disturbia”. I just find it funny when people say Rihanna is selling out and that Gaga was the one who dared to be different in 2008 with dance when Ri was doing dance in 2008 too. GGGB was a mainly urban album but it did have some dance singles that were released from it.
I loved IINSYFA though! I wish it had done better…I love how….different it was than what she had been doing. I remember when I couldn’t say the word umbrella in 2007 without people singing that song. Rihanna brought back a lot of elements you see in the music industry today IMO.
Before GGGB there werent a lot of outrageous Pop, Dance-Pop records out Like What Rihanna delivered ex. SUAD, DSTM, Breakin Dishes, Disturbia and the EPIC Umbrella. She pushed in the envelope in music and fashion….then BOOM it exploded into a lot of what you see today. Same goes for Gaga, her outrageous style and combination of Electro hits exploded and is now a lot of what you see today as well.
IMO Rihanna and Gaga will be future icons of the Pop music scene.

Yea, I was surprised at how “off” she sounded on that cover, but Halo is an extremely hard song to sing because of the transitions from multiple registers. Oh, don’t forget her dancing to Single Ladies and calling it one of her favorite videos 😀 Not that @RiRiLoud is, but I always find it weird that people assume Bee has no friends, or it’s awkward if she’s pictured with someone you wouldn’t associate her with. Yea, that’s what I meant. The tone of her voice is warm and it naturally has a lot of depth. But, her technique goes against everything I’ve been taught. She has no musical purpose with the things she does with her voice; timing is horrible; sense of pitch is atrocious; phrasing is a joke; improvisations are characterized by pointless runs that fall flat out of meter and never fit the chord progressions; and she never sings within any genre effectively. Her technique makes these flaws 10x worse. Ugh and it pisses me off, such a beautiful voice. Sorry, I’m high off chocolate. Lol

Yeah. It’s sad because I love Nicki but…I don’t know. She had a pretty successful song with “Your Love” but she hasn’t had a lot of big features lately and neither “Check It Out” nor “Right Thru Me” are doing much on the charts. Maybe if “Check It Out” hits the top 20 and “Right Thru Me” goes top 40, she may be on the right track. I just have a feeling she’ll barely scrape the top 10.

They should’ve put it out when her buzz was fresh and people were excited about her. Now she’s just overexposed. I’m amazed that Drake had the big opening week that he had, considering that his album came out over a year after he had been hyped with some singles. There is this thing about striking while the iron’s hot. Especially when you’re a new artist.

That’s very true. None of her singles have been huge. At least Drake has had a huge hit. I just think that she’s kind of an in-the-moment artist. Unfortunately, I don’t think she’s here to stay. But it’s true. Artists who wait so long to put out albums/their labels who do that make stupid decisions. It’s just bad for the album.
It’s not always the greatest thing for an artist to be a perfectionist.

Yeah that’s what I was telling them, that her album sales will not live up to the hype. They think she will sell just as much as Drake did but her singles have basically flopped! Especially what ‘was’ her first single Massive Attack. Because it flopped they eventually called it a buzz single. I’m not saying she will flop like a Bionic or Graffiti but I think she will flop as in sell considerably less than expected.
I think she has a lot of potential but the gimmicks and Barbie crap makes me dislike her! I don’t think she can rap as good as Kim in her prime or Eve and definitely not Lauryn! People (my Hubby and little brother) just hear her flow and not her lyrics! I.e. Bottoms Up which was good flow wise but not good lyrics wise! Her best verse so far is on Monster.

I think she has a good flow, and I definitely prefer her to Kim, but she hasn’t met the standards of Eve, Missy and Lauryn (specifically) because her lyrics are POINTLESS.
