The line-up for the VH1’s Divas 2010 was announced today, and you’re not going to believe who will be flying the flag of diva-dom on this year’s show.

Having been benched for sometime prior to its return last year, the VH1’s Divas brand is looking to re-inject some much-needed life and interest into what used to be a staple of the network’s annual schedule.
Despite enlisting a lacklustre cast of artists for last year’s show, its producers have this year lined-up an equally baffling set of ladies as the night’s head-liners. They are:
- Katy Perry
- Keri Hilson
- Nicki Minaj
- Sugarland
- Paramore
Speaking on her involvement with this year’s show, Keri Hilson said: “I am proud to be in the show’s lineup among so many other influential, strong and powerful women.”
VH1 Divas 2010 airs December 5th from the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. The show will tribute the efforts of the United States military troops.

Pun’kd must have switched stations, because this a complete joke! The last time I checked, none of the listed ladies (regardless of their varying levels of talent) hold any claim to the title ‘diva’. What happened to the show’s dizzy heights when great’s such as Diana Ross and Whitney Houston would be tributed by greats in the making (as opposed to flavours of the moment)? A mess.

I remember the first VH1 Divas I was able to watch in 2003 which had Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Lisa Marie Presley, Chaka Khan, Jewel, WHitney Houston, and Ashanti they weren’t just hot at the moment they went on to make an impact in the industry. Clearly no thinking went into picking this headline more like picking names out of hat. This is sad and I bet anything Keri Hilson won’t sing and Katy Perry will sound horrible, and Nicki Minaj will only be worth her animated faces. I won’t even be watching

This show lost it when it stopped the tribute of one artist and just made it another promo gig for the invited singers. Seriously, they’ve yet to run out of Divas to tribute. I can’t remember them giving Janet, Madonna, Barbra Streisand, or Dolly Parton. They even could have done a Divas show built around giving tribute to legendary girl groups, like The Supremes, TLC, SWV, Martha & Vandells, Patti & the Bluebells, etc.
So much the producers could have done with this format, and they choose again, flavor-of-the-moment, non-Divas. If they were truly interested in putting on a quality show, they could have done so…the ideas are endless.
Vh1 Divas haven’t been good since 2000. Since the real divas no longer want to participate (I bet they get asked,) then they are left with crap like this.
This show needs to be canceled.

For starter’s I thought being a diva had more of a classy women to it. A very successful singer of nonoperatic music. && is a celebrated female singer. The term is used to describe a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera, and by extension in theatre, cinema and popular music. The meaning of diva is closely related to that of “prima donna”.

-Keri Hilson,I just dont like her but i’m not going to diss her because I dont like her but I think someone like Jasmine Sullivan or even Ciara should of took that spot.I dont care how many fans Keri Hilson has or how many records she sold I dont think she should of been on the diva list but she makes more sense than Para,Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj.

WHAT? What about Toni? This poor lady needs some recognition in her life. She’s an amazing, talented singer. She’s up there with Mariah and Whitney (despite the bankruptcy, lol). Bring back REAL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with Carlitos. why the he’ll was Toni Braxton never recognized back with mariah and Whitney. Seems like everyone in the music industry and their mom are out to get her. She has gone through some s*** in the last couple years and still has a damn good voice to prove she still here. Brand new album pulse came out this summer and vocals are still on point if not just as good or better then in the 90’s. Last year I felt it was a slap in the face to haver her introduce Leona Lewis when Toni has been in the game for years and still has it. Yeah vh1 divas has gone down the shitter lol. But people who can’t sing is whats popular I guess. Toni had a great album yet it went overlooked. There are so many talented artists that could of been a better choice then these. Toni braxton being one of them, India arie, Anita baker, Donna summer, Monica. People who can sing and have been around longer then a year and they have talent to prove it.
