After an 18 year hiatus, the original line-up of the legendary En Vogue returned to London for a sold-out show at the indigO2 last night.
That Grape Juice was in the house and can vouch for the fact that the ladies blew the roof off! See for yourself; peep their performances of ‘Don’t Let Go’, ‘Free Your Mind’, ‘Never Gonna Get It’ after the jump. Interestingly, the ladies also performed ‘Riddle’ (with Dawn, who had left the group when the song was released).

Real, pure, and raw talent. Despite all being over 40, Cindy, Maxine, Terry, and Dawn, put on a show many a young starlet would find hard to top. I mean, though just 22, I can see that they simply don’t ‘make’ acts like this any more. While I’ll save the “real vs processed talent” rant for my head, one can only hope new artists really understand the importance of working hard to be great at what you do. For, it’s the very reason the En Vogue’s and co are still thrilling audiences and making a living. Real talent lives for ever and inspires others. New hair colours and autotuned vocals? Not so much.

I LOVE THE TALENT THAT GIRL GROUPS CAN BRING. DESPITE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM BEING GORGEOUS (CINDY IN MY MIND BEING THE BEST LOOKING) EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE LADIES CAN BLOW THE HOUSE DOWN VOCALLY. SOMETHING THAT GIRL GROUPS HAVE LACKED SINCE DESTINY’S CHILD LEFT THE SCENE AND SOMETHING THAT DANITY KANE COULD HAVE GOTTEN WITH MORE WORK AND LESS DRAMA. WITH THAT BEING SAID THE NEXT EN VOGUE IS HERE AND I’M A LITTLE UPSET THAT THAT GRAPE JUICE HAS YET TO COVER THEM. RICHGIRL IS THEIR NAME AND THEY’RE COMPRISED OF LYNDRIETTE, SE7EN, AUDRA, AND BRAVE. THEY ALL ARE NOT ONLY BEAUTIFUL BUT HAVE BEAUTIFUL VOICES AS WELL. THEY ALL SHARE LEAD VOCALS AND THEY’RE NOT OVER SEXED. THEY’RE VERY CLASSY. I CAN’T WAIT FOR MORE FROM EN VOGUE AS WELL AS RICHGIRL. I THINK THAT A TOUR WITH SWV, TLC, AND EN VOGUE WITH RICHGIRL AS THE OPENING ACT WOULD BE WONDERFUL. JUST A THOUGHT. THEY DON’T HAVE TALENT LIKE THIS ANYMORE AND IT’S THE REASON WHY NO ONE IS SELLING RECORDS LIKE THEY USED TO. BRING TALENT BACK LIKE THIS AND RECORD SALES WILL ONCE AGAIN PICK UP. LOOK AT LADY GAGA. LOOK AT BEYONCE. LOOK AT ALICIA KEYS. LOOK AT SADE. TALENT AND GOOD PROMO MAKES FOR SUCCESS.
Wow, and they are all still in excellent shape and vocal form. The are really the greatest girl group in history in terms of pure vocals. Not many times you get groups where ALL of the singers in the group SHARE taking the lead. I always thought Cyndi and Dawn had the best voices in the group, but they ALL can blow.
I would not mind seeing them in concert.

I was there and they were amazing – the crowd were well up for it – the sophisticated people loving the music dancing – no attitude – just fun
the New Jack Swing club thing after was amazing – the dancing proper old school!

en vogue is not to be compared with destiny’s child . en vogue had the pipes that would wake the dead up. DC has good singers, but not like en vogue.
You know why alot of folk wanna throw modern day groups out there like Destiny Child is because they are young & know nothing about true talent that evolved waaaaaaaaaaaay before Destiny Child was even thought about. En Vouge is the best I love these girls they know they can sing & they have the best girl group Harmonies I ever heard…….(besides the Clark Sisters…but that’s a different Genre of music)! OMG! They sounded just like their f**king singles /albums! These performances are amazing and you know you’re a good performer when your voice, energy, and stage presence uplifts the crowd. I remember En Vogue from the 90’s. I didn’t pay too much attention to them because I was more into Mariah Carey, but I did admire their vocal ability and liked some of their songs. They are definitely the greatest and most talented girl group of all time. Their voices are so soulful, powerful, and unique. They have amazing harmonies. They are a few steps down from Whitney and Mariah and that’s saying a lot! It’s a shame that we have too many female artists now-a-days who rely on GHETTO STRIPPER DANCING, CATCHY MEDLODIES WITH ACCENTS, BOOTY BOUNCING WITH BUBBLEGUM SINGLES, AND WILD AND KOOKY OUTFITS AND ANTICS, to sell instead of pure talent. When will we ever get females like this again to sell real music.
And to whoever said Richgirl needs more shine on here, they aren’t even as talented as DC. They all can sing, but not SANG and they are so hoochie and generic. BTW the next greatest girl group is SWV!

F*** album sales, cuz that never = talent…DK was THE BEST GIRL GROUP FROM 2005-CURRENT…I watched them fight for their stardom tooth and nail, running, rehearsing, grinding, KILLING VOCALS in and out of the booth…Shared vocals, all of them could dance, all of them could sing, and I agree with less drama, They woulda been the only girl group to carry a torch in todays girl group Image.
