Congrats to Ciara for winning the dance award for the Ride video, well deserved!

  2. KD November 29, 2010

Thank God for the Soul Train Awards (no non-singers in sight…what a breath of fresh air)

    1. Neyo: Very good performer…way better than Chris Brown IMO (meaning crazed stans need not respond).

    2. R Kelly: The R in R&B (Trey wishes)…wish he would have sung his older songs for a longer period of time. Good performance overall.

    3. Jazmine: Was aight

    4. Chrisette Michele: I’m in love…that is all, Tamia: One of the weakest, Faith Evans: I had no idea she could sing (wow)

    5. Bruno Mars: Odd one out but he was on point (I love that song). We need more people like him (as opposed to the Kesha’s that cannot sing or play any instruments whatsoever).

    6. Cee-Lo: Album of the year IMO (next to Chrisette Michele’s Let Freedom Reign) but wtf at that outfit & performance

  3. Pam November 29, 2010

Keyshia needs her a** kicked for trying to sing this song.

  4. MEH – Boss B****. November 29, 2010

Bruno Mars has stolen my heart. I LOVE him, the man can sang and his album is perfect. Jazmine Sullivan was good, didn’t bother watching the rest not interested. Cee-Lo needs to get gone, that fatty is so annoying.

  5. genes November 29, 2010

CONGRATZ TO CIARA 4 WIN BEST DANCE PERFORMANCE WITH RIDE…..
    LOVE YOU CC

  7. Ty’Ma November 29, 2010

The Anita Baker tribute the the dopest!!!

I forget sometimes there are still real singers out there. We just don’t get to see them much. And boy did they pic some of the best! Tamia went in, Rachelle Ferrell went IN, Goapele and the lesbian she sang with were dope, but Faith man… She did the damn thing.

The Ronald Isley tribute kinda lacked untill he got up himself and sang… Although Keyshia Cole did her thing.

Oh and side bar: Who knew Ginuwine and Sole were STILL married???

  8. Diane November 29, 2010

Now we know. R. Kelly and Trey are two very different artists. Can’t nobody sing it live like R. Kelly. goosebumps.

Tamia is always flawless. Even Jennifer Hudson’s remake of Move On My Heart don’t match up to Tamia’s version. Congrats to her long-time marriage to Grant Hill.

I’m concerned why Anita Baker didn’t go to the mic when El DeBarge egged her on. Hmmm. After the national anthem fiasco, I hope she’s not hiding something.

    Taraji, I love you but…

  9. Renae November 29, 2010

The Soul Train Awards weren’t bad at all….they had real singers on the show. R Kelly did great……Its sad that more singers don’t support the show, do they think they are too big for the Soul Train Awards???

And is Erykah Badu pregnant again????????

  10. dee November 29, 2010

I hate the stupid advertising on this website!!!

  11. Blue Kid November 29, 2010

Soul Train all ways did celebrate real talent!

  12. truth serum November 29, 2010

    @Renae..

Soul Train Awards was bigger in the 90s and early 2000s. More singers don’t support it as much now bc like BET, it changed management and then became a host of effery. That’s why they took it off the air. They are really trying to rebuild the brand. Hopefully within a few more years it will once again hold the esteem and precedence it had in black music before. But in order for them to do that, they need to start (as they have done) showcasing real talent again versus what they think will garner hits. Same with the BET Awards. Tired of Beyoncé, Usher, & Alicia Keys getting nods just for being who they are.

  24. Alexander November 29, 2010

R Kelly was the best performance of them all hands down

  25. Heaven November 29, 2010

Real f****** talent . Chrisette Michele, Tamia, Rachelle Farrell, Faith Evans just killed that tribute. Tamia is a talent that is so underrated. She did her thang! R. Kelly my lawd, that man did it and Eric Benet *faint*!

I’m never impressed with “The Gentleman” that looks like kermit, not ever. lmao!

  26. CORY November 29, 2010

OMG WHERE DID THEY FIND DIONNE PENNY WITH A HOLE IN IT FERRIS

  27. Nichole November 29, 2010

Damn!!!!! Serious talent up in the house! Yeaaaaaah booooooooyeeeeeee!!!

Them folks got the fvvk off!!! They had some of the greatest talent!! Wooooo! Soul Train Music Awards got off big time!!!

The tributes were AMAZING! The ladies and men tore down the flippin house! Real, raw, sensual talent to the core! The ladies

    R. Kelly is one of the greats, and his performance was GREAT!

ZOMGG!!! The ladies were spectacular!!! It is a shame that some of the most vocally gifted singers are the one’s that are extremely underrated. The music industry is drowned in no talent, gimmicky acts that should not even be present.

I’m amazed! I hope the awards show pick up, and some of the bigger artists start showing their faces again.

    That was AMAZING!

Words cannot communicate to you how much I LOVE Anita Baker! Get into how she talked about “real musicians” and “real singers” at the beginning of her acceptance speech. Loved her tribute!

    I also loved R. Kelly’s performance!

  33. MUSIC LOVER November 29, 2010

BRUNO MARS IS SUCH AN UNDERRATED ARTIST!!!

I’m surprised to see here him, considering this is a predominantly African American based award show, but nevertheless he was amazing! How many people these days can ACTUALLY SING, WRITE THEIR MUSIC, sound as good as the studio live, and don’t use auto-tune? NOT MANY! GO BRUNO MARS!

  34. Mr. Dempsey November 29, 2010

Wow..Good show. I’m surprised that Keisha Cole did as good as she did. She wasn’t hollering and she delivered the song well.

  35. CM November 29, 2010

    MS. BADU. real music.

  36. SundayNews November 29, 2010

Keyshia Cole did great, her live vocals never sounded too good, but she was strong last might.

Tamia was incredible and the story of Anita Baker bringing her and Grant Hill together then her singing that line about marriage and winking to Anita Baker was beauitful.

Great show overall, I hope people appreciated it instead saying “who are these has beens”

These people shouldn’t have “gone” anywhere.

  37. Shouw November 29, 2010

This is so good to hear some REAL music ! I missed that

  38. R&B Queen November 29, 2010

Cee lo is horrendous live. i dont particularly like him much. bruno mars is the world’s next legend. no b*******.
    R. Kelly was spectacular. the man’s still got it.

  39. salz November 29, 2010

    awwwhhh, bruno mars killed it!!
he is definately the next best thing in the music industry, all he needs now is a bit more promo

  40. Kristi November 29, 2010

Tamia is amazing as always, definitely can’t wait for her new cd to drop.

  41. Dunster November 29, 2010

I loved the Anita Baker tribute, and i’m going to see Faith Evans on the 8th!
When you can really sing you can do anything

  42. LOL November 29, 2010

ANYWAY ALL THEPERFORMANCES WERE BOMB -GO BRUNO MARS!!!!

  43. theman November 29, 2010

There is nothing hasbeen about these artists. They are all incredible. We need artists like this on radio instead of the same ole same ole. Janelle Monae said it best radio needs to open up to more artists. This is the kind of talent that we want to hear. The Soul Train awards were really good, and they did’nt look cheap.

  44. Malik November 29, 2010

Keyshia Cole did good, I’m proud of her! Vocals were on point!

  45. ~aMaZiNG.Lee~ November 29, 2010

I thought this was a pretty good awards show. It would have been 10 times better if Terrence Howard’s dumbass wasn’t affiliated with it. UGH, he just makes me SICK! LOL!

Anyway, I thought they had some REAL authentic artists on there and I LOVED that! <3 Especially my boy Eric Benet! I just LOVE him! 🙂

I think everyone did good except for Lalah Hathaway, Keyshia Cole was flat AS USUAL, and Ronald Isley didn't do as good as I expected him to do. He's kinda lost it.

And Cee-Lo is EXTREMELY underrated! His first album "….Soul Machine" was a masterpiece! Dude is a BEAST! Love him!

Good show overall, though. (Just get rid of Terrence Howard, PLEASE!)

  46. MichelleWFan November 30, 2010

    R.Kelly’s performance was A.MA.ZING !!!
Loved the Erykha Bady one too, when she has finished and walking ,and that effect on the floor , It was great ! Beautiful Visual !!

    Great show !

  47. KWON CAMPBELL November 30, 2010

The Anita Baker tribute was the best I have ever seen!!!!!

  48. MIss Riss November 30, 2010

That show was wonderful! LOVED the Anita Baker tribute (have been watching it over and over) and watching those sistas really sAngin’ was phenomenal. Rachelle Ferrell and Kim were great together, but we all know Rachelle could have sang that by herself with that powerhouse voice she has. Imagine if she’d really let go. Tamia’s delivery was flawless. She sang the song like the record. No showing off, just paying respect. Lalah came and bought that smoky, sensual, raspiness mixed with those incredible runs and riffs (sounding so much like her father, the great Donny) and Faith was just as smooth. Anita is truly a living legend and sooooo many singers today owe her respect. So glad Toni Braxton wasn’t involved. To me she has always tried to sound like Anita. EL DEBARGE…that man still has it and he sang on BOTH tributes, plus he opened the pre-show with Faith so you know the brotha is in demand. The show was fun to watch, LOVED the scramble board segments. LOVED the tribute to Ron Isley and the Johnson sisters got up to sing backing vox with hubby/brother in-law which was too cute. Loved Erykah Badu and those special effects. She always brings it… and I really enjoyed the playfulness of Tariji and Terrence, but that magic skit was a little much. The only thing missing was our boy Michael. (gone too soon, he is but he always brought fire to any show he appeared on. Thanks for letting me share my opinion. God Bless.

  49. TC ;D November 30, 2010

    @ LOL

NUMBER SIGN #SITCHOMOTHAFUCKINAZZWAYYYYYYYYYYYYDAFUCKDOWN THEIRS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCREAMING & BELTING….ON A RECORD BEYONCE DOES THAT SAME WACK ASS GRUNT MOAN & SCREAM ON EVERY F***** SONG & WHO THE F*** TOLD U THAT W**** COULD SING OPERA

U GOTTA. GETCHA EARS IN CHECK CAUSE THAT H*** VOCALS ARE WEAK RASPY & DRY AS F***…SHE HAS NO VOCAL CONTROL OR CAPABILITY…I HAVENT EVEN HEARD HER LAST 2 ALBUMS & I KNOW THAT S*** SOLD BASED ON IMAGE & PROMOTION HER VOCALS HAVENT BEEN GOOD SINCE DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE

IF U WERE TO PUT CLOTHES ON THAT B**** & A MIC IN HER FACE…SHE WOULDNT DELIVER….

  50. Laqueeshahdla November 30, 2010

AMEN OF THE YEAR goes to… TC;D

Thank god Wackyonce wasnt there. It’s called “SOUL train awards”, not TRASH train awards or OVERRATED b****** awards or Fake girls awards”.

  51. Infamous Doll November 30, 2010

Erykah looked pregnant as hell. All the weight from whatever it is, be it baby, meds or sickness, she blew the hell up in her face and knees. But from what I saw everyone did great in the show, well I didnt even bother watching neyo or bruno. And while I was watching ceelo and keyshia the darn content was deleted. CRAP!!!

  52. Paige Turner December 1, 2010

Amazing Lee has to be tone deaf. Lalah Hathaway was incredible. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

  53. Britt December 2, 2010

Does anyone know who the lady that sung with Kem is?…
