Singer/songwriter Jessie J premiered the video for debut single ‘Do It Like A Dude’ moments ago. The song serves as the first UK release from J’s forthcoming studio album ‘Who You Are’, which is due to hit stores next year. While the LP’s title track will be released as J’s debut US offering.

As a sucker for visual gloss and edginess, the video hit a home-run on that front. However, I’d be be lying if I said I wasn’t anticipating something with a bit more ‘umph’. The clip does somewhat capture the hard-hitting nature of the song, yet in being so bare, lacking in narrative and ‘performance’, it doesn’t manage to match it. Still, a great effort for a first video. Good stuff.

I really like this girl, super talented. the video is cool but I agree that it doesn’t really capture the “swagger” of the track or the artist. I see she likes the body rolls and chest pumps , i want to see her perform this song- in this form -live.
