Keyshia Cole released the video for her new song, ‘Long Way Down’, moments ago. Expect the song to appear on her ‘Calling All Hearts’ album which hits stores on December 21st. Check out the video below:
I enjoyed that visual. Definitely reminds me of a young Mary J Blige with the way she dresses and the her ‘street’ swag which never seems forced or unnatural. Furthermore, the song is far more enjoyable than her incredibly underwhelming ‘I Ain’t Thru’ cliche of a video with Nicki Minaj. Good stuff.

‘Long Way Down’ seems like a grower but I’m glad Keyshia found her style again. This sounds like one of her songs from the ‘Just Like You’ era and this record is still in heavy roation on my iPod. ‘A Different Me’ was a mess, I never thought I would say this, but it’s true, there were hardly good songs on it and ‘I Aint Thru’ was such a disappointment too! So WELCOME BACK KEYSHIA!

Now this is more like it Keysh. I was starting to think you and your team had lost their damn minds after releasing IAT as the lead single. But this is back to the KC I know and love. This song is hot, real hot. If you like real r&b you will like this one. It’s not too slow either and the beat is nicely done. Good vocals too. Video is kinda boring but the song makes up for it.

This one sounds decent. This one can grow on me, the video is boring and underbudget though. But the song does have a “Just Like You” vibe to it, which is what people want. I may be one of the few that really liked “A Different Me.” It had all the right songs, just not promoted correctly. Take a listen to “This Is Us,” and tell me that doesn’t have a crossover appeal to it.
