X-Factor 2010: Eliminations (Week 8)

Published: Sunday 28th Nov 2010 by Sam

The X-Factor 2010 saw its eighth set of eliminations tonight. Find out who’s heading home this week…

{For those unfamiliar with The X Factor, the show is the UK’s version of American Idol – with a twist in that groups and over 25’s are eligible to enter. Now in it’s seventh season, the show is responsible for birthing the careers of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, and JLS. It’s US version is set to launch in 2011}.

After registering the  lowest public vote of the contestants (besides controversial Katie – who was first booted from the show), Wagner and Mary were two acts put on the chopping block.

The weekly sing-off proceeded with Wagner taking to the stage first, with Mary following.

In the end, it was Mary who was granted a pass onto next week’s show following the  judges unanimous decision to save the Irish Tesco worker.

The X Factor continues on ITV1 next Saturday.

OMG mary in the sing off.. wasnt that the vocal of the series so far? she was so amazing if she was yonger.. she’d win the show easily.
Her vocals are so much stronger then rebecca’s
    Cher through aswell.

The right people finally went tonight let’s face it Katie and Wagner were equally as s*** as each other…. Cher, Matt or Rebecca to win although I suspect it will be One Direction as all the youngsters that mostly vote will be supporting them.
Cher will however be the biggest star wether she wins or not… this time next year she will be HUGE. I know people say she is a chav and has attitude but she is only 17 yrs old for god sake she will grow and evolve with time.

I still don’t know who will win between Matt and Rebecca– they are both equally good. Third place goes to One Direction– I think they will be SUCCESSFUL. Cher has grown on me. It’ll be interesting to see her after this show.

Not going to watch after this week, the way the X-factor PR machine went after Wagner in the press this weekend was terrible. He might be a terrible singer, and pretty rubbish but it feels like a cheat him going the weekend negative stories about him are front page news.

Im glad wagner has gone although i dont like Kate she is not a big head like that little b**** cher who only knows how to rap and spoil a very good song its time she went back on the streets where she came from. She acts like a gangster!

I would just like remind people that even though we have good contestants each year in the x factor, that people should remember the world class powerfull vocals that leona lewis performed every week and never faultered.
She will always be the milestone that contestants will be compared to.
Just because simon has a fuel train of money from these shows he should not neglect the promotion of leona’s records in this country, I believe that he has failed to promote her outside the x factor arena since her first album and she deserves far better than that.
I know people love cheryl but she cannot sing and she is getting far more from the x factor than the contestants which i think is sad.
