The top 10 best-selling albums of 2010 have been announced. Not surprisingly, Lady GaGa nabbed the #1 spot with her ‘The Fame Monster’ release which managed to sell over 5.8 million copies worldwide during the last 12 months. ‘Monster’ serves as the followup to GaGa’s debut album, ‘The Fame’, which has has sold an astounding 12 million units since August 2008.
Other artists who managed to score top honors in 2010 include Eminem, Justin Bieber, Sade and the Black Eyed Peas. Rihanna’s ‘Rated R’ failed to make the top 10 despite having one of the largest promotional campaigns of the last year. Check out the full lineup below:

You called LOUD a FLOP a few posts back, did you not? And yes, Platinum in some countries can range from 50,000-300,000 copies, but you also have to take into account that the population in those countries is at least 20X smaller than the US population, hence the smaller requirement for a Platinum certification. Even with the 20+ countries in Europe it still doesn’t make up the same amount of people in the US and she still was certified PLATINUM by the IFPI for 1 million units sold, the same in the US even though the population is significantly GREATER. Now once again, you still haven’t proven how the album was a commercial flop, and you can argue with me all day, but facts are facts. The album is PLATINUM EVERYWHERE. That is not a commercial flop. I’m DONE.

That single “Deuces” came out months after the release of ‘Graffiti’ and it was on the Fan of a Fan mixtape, not the ‘Graffiti’ album. The sales for ‘Graffiti’ may pick up depending on how ‘F.A.M.E.’ does next year. And I’m only laughing at her sales, because you guys keep bringing them up. They are indeed laughable because of the fact that she has 9 #1’s in the US and still only has sold around 5-6 million in the US with five albums released.

of 2010 and Gaga released The Fame Monster
in November of 2009. That gave her a 4 month
span from January until May to win big over the runner

I guess that no one realizes that Gaga has only been really famous for about two years plus a few months. Beyonce,Rihanna and Britney have been in the industry far longer than her. She has only had ONE Full album and an Ep (8 songs). Shes managed to have FOUR number 1 singles from one album. She has TWO grammy’s and 12 nominations to date. Not to mention she was billboards best new artist in 2009 and artist of the year in 2010. She is one of Time mags most influential people in the world, one of forbes top earners. Every concert sells out. She already has mtv awards (8 just this year) She was the first to hit One billion on vevo and she has sold over 12 millions copies of the fame no even including the fame monster. she gets praises from elton john and oher musical greats. As I said before She has done all of this in a little over two years. nd she was the most charitable celeb in 2010.

Beyonce was in Destiny’s Child. She/they sold 15 million albums in their first two years. Also, when Beyonce went solo, she sold 12 million with Dangerously In Love.
Rihanna’s two first years of her carrier, she went to sell 15 million albums.

No Rhianna’s first two albums didnt sell 15 million in her first two years, they havent even sold that to date. If you’re gonna lie at least make sure I can’t disprove what you’re saying. Rhianna also didnt have 4 number 1 singles in either album combined.

Im not trying to belittle anything that they di in their careers but they didnt do as much in as little time.
GGGB came towards the end of her first couple of years and didnt sell 9 million in a few months, it took a while meaning that Gaga still sold more in a short amount of time. Plus The Fame is Gagas first album, she didnt have a huge fanbase to rely on to support her or any other previous singles to back her up. She came out the gate on top and she wont slow down any time soon. It took rhianna 3 albums to sell around 15 million yet gaga sold over 12 million with one album alone and The fame Moster is a seperate body of work which picked up almost six million this year alone. Not to mention Born this way which is being released in a few months

I was living in Singapore when I first heard of Lady Gaga. I think she had a concert there in 2009 or 2010. I did not really notice here, except that people in their teens and 20s thought she was incredible. Later I listened to Howard Stern interview here (it is now posted on Youtube). In that interview you will understand who Lady Gaga is. She is the daughter of a father and a mother who she loves deeply. Her father was ill and she paid for his treatment.
I go to Indonesia and know local friends there. They are very lovely to me. I am sure most Indonesia people are like these people rather than those who would even suggest violence because they have prejudge anyone including Lady Gaga.
