Pop superstar Britney Spears sent fans into a frenzy last week, after announcing that her new album is due to hit stores in a matter of months (March 2011). Since then, the rumour-mill has gone into overdrive, with the LP’s lead single the subject of most speculation.
Now, a reputable outlet has confirmed the single’s title and release. Find out Ms. Spears will be serving up in a matter of weeks after the jump…
According to the ever-reliable Pop Justice, the Pop force will release new single ‘Hold It Against Me’ on January 3rd.
The song is confirmed to have been produced by long-time Spears collaborators Dr Luke and Max Martin – both of whom have enjoyed major success on the charts this year with their productions for Katy Perry. {Source}
Exciting, yes. However, I’m more concerned with whether Britney can bring the song, and her new material more generally, to life live. For, her lacklustre showings during her last project, numbed any internal buzz I had going for her then-new music. Here’s hoping her nearly year-long down-time, will allow for a return of the Britney we know and love.

There is no way that they are gonna spend Brits promo money on Ciara and Chris Brown as she is their BIGGEST ARTIST AND MONEY SPINNER. I also hope that she will be performing live as she used to back in days and that she shows more interest this time around. I would love to see more interviews as well.
I HOPE THERE ARE SOME TRACKS PRODUCED BY DANJA AS HE PRODUCED THE BEST SONGS ON THE ALBUM. I ALSO HOPE THAT THE ALBUM IS LIKE BLACKOUT AND LESS POP.
I love Britney and her music and Ive been a fan since she came out, however I dont think shes really into it anymore she seem like she just doing it because she has to, her recent music is ok but nowhere better than her pervious work, also she used to be a really good performer and I went to her onyx hotel tour where although she never sang live most of the songs the show she put on was great like the dancing and the way she spoke to the crowd, but when I went to her recent tour she was a totally different person, she basically was just flapping her hands around and working around the stage, she never spoke to the crowd, and she just looked like a zombie and like she never wanted to be there, but I did enjoy the show just nowhere as much as her pervious one. I hope she comes out with better material now, and she comes back to her old self because I miss that Britney, where she would do loads of interviews and have that fun and bubbly personality. I worry that shes not ready yet. And before the crazy fans start am not trying to horrible or nasty am just saying that I hope shes more herself when she releases her new work. Good luck Britney.
I think the reason Jive doesn’t give artist Like Ciara much money to promote is because unfortunately let’s face it, Ciara isn’t a big seller like she was back when “Goodies” was out. I mean it is an unfortunate situation and plus whatever money Jive puts out on a project I believe the artist has to pay the label back from what they’ve put into the promotion aspect of it all. But I wish I knew what goes on behindcthe scenes. It just seems fascinating when all in all when you get to see how things work from a fans eye looking in.
As for Britney, well she continues to be Jives BIGGEST seller at the moment since BSB career has gone downhill and Nsync I guess is over. So u can expect them to put out ALOT of money from her projects because they k ow they will profit slot more money from Brutney and then some. Plus Britney had a powerful manager Larry Rudolph. So I have a feeling we might see more of Britney promoting this album then she did “Blackout” & “Circus”. GOOD LUCK BRITNEY, WE LOVE YOU!!!!

To “Eric” – I think whenerver her album/ single is realeased, her hitting #1 is a given. As for her following the “Tik Tok”, California Girls” trend, I think Britney fans know that Britney is a trendsetter when it comes to her music and I’m confident Britney had a great eye in what she likes. So I don’t expect a rehash of Kesha and Katy. Also we really don’t even know if that song is the first single. Britney, Jive, get producers, didn’t confirm it. It’s just gossip. All we know it a song title. The media is just running with it at the moment.
Also I hope ALOT of people dont think this album will be filled with Max Martin and Dr. Luke productions because she’s been working with Danja, Alex Da Kid, Rodney Jerkins, Bloodshy & Avant, Scott Storch,William Orbit, Chase & Status, DJ Tiesto, One Republic (frontman) can’t think of his name, The Outsyders, Billboard, and a variety of other producers and writers I can’t remember at the moment. I have a feeling this album will have both the “In The Zone & Blackout” vibe. But we’ll see
