The lady on the lips of many, Jessie J, took to the stage at KoKo recently to perform a rousing rendition of ‘Stand Up’ – a cut lifted from her debut LP ‘Who You Are’.
Check out the BBC Sound of 2011 contender in action below. The performance serves as her second televised showing to date.
Now this is more like it! As much as I vouch for J’s cause (true talent), I’ve long been itching for a more polished/refined performance from her. For being rough and raw works for some settings ala live shows, yet not so much television. Thankfully, J delivered with a solid showing, one which shows she has the ability to work the stage like a seasoned performer. As for the vocals, what more needs to be said? Near flawless. Yours truly cannot get enough of her adlibs. Fantastic.
No different from her blue-eyed soul counterparts: Duffy, and Pixie Lott. The only four she doesn’t sound like, is Natasha Bedengfield, Adele, Pink and Joss Stone. I’m not that impressed, because so many of them sound like that in the UK.
Good Tune… Love this girl voice, attitude and style!!! Represent for the UK 🙂
I Love This GIrl!
Her Voice x Her Charisma x Her Songs =

Not that matters, but are y’all sure that she’s white? Isn’t she mixed race at least?
But yes, she is a talented chick. I hope she makes it on both sides of the pond, it’d be nice if mainstream music started embracing talented people once again. I have a feeling that it will, if it’s not already.
* Not that it matters
