R&B vixen Keri Hilson paid a visit to Billboard’s Tastemakers recently to perform her current hit ‘Pretty Girl Rock’.
The singer-songwriter will no doubt be celebrating this week, after the album which houses the song, ‘No Boys Allowed’, debuted on the Billboard 200 with career-best first week sales of 102,000. Though only enough for a #11 charting amidst the bevy of new releases this week, the numbers are most certainly resectable given the climate and Hilson’s rising position in the industry.

Her vocal performances are always good but she should sing “You’re Beautiful” in a higher register/octave, because is this octave she doesn’t sound so good.
She needs to start working on the 3rd album NOW! I’m a fan, but this album did nothing for me, it’s all over the place.

I really tried not to be biased against her, but this is not a good performance!
The chick that is 25, you have no good tests in music what so ever, and to by 5 copies of her cd is not going to make her win a Grammy!! I don’t get why Ya’ll accept mediocre music from these artist in 2010!! Damn I see why she will never win a Grammy, her music sucks, not being a hater, but being real!! I don’t see how this album is fresh, new , non generic!! This was in the afternoon…when Keri wasn’t sleeping for 5 days.and Keri hasn’t even been on twitter for 3 days so you know she sleep.
Well…like I have said before, she never ‘wows’ but it was a pretty good performance. I do like ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ and I know that she has to promote that single. but I am in LOVE with her new album and I am ready for some new singles for her to perform. She has so many potential singles that I think would do great, ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Lose Control’, ‘Toy Soldier’, ‘Beautiful Mistake’ ‘All They Boys’. I guess she doesn’t necessarily have all the say on what singles she will release, but she has much better material on her album than what she has released as singles…including ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ and I can’t understand why they would have released ‘Breaking Point’ and ‘The Way You Love Me’ first. -_-
I liked her interview too. She came off very intelligent, articulate and I liked the way she answered her quesions. I also like the way she seems to stand by her video ‘The Way You Love Me’. I still HATE the video and the song for that matter, I think it is the WORST song on her album, but I respect the fact that she didn’t apologize for it and come up with any excuses about the video and try to say that someone talked her into doing it. She did it, she stood by it. End of story.
I think it i obvious that this interview was given before the whole CB twitter incident. *sighs* I bet she gets asked a lot about all the ‘male’ features on her ‘No Boys Allowed’ album and I bet they can’t wait to ask her about CB. It must be frustrating for her to have praised him like that and say that he has ‘learned from his mistakes’ and then he behave like that on twitter the other day. *sigh* He has so many friends in the industry who look out for him and praise him publically, and then he lets them down and makes them look bad by acting so childish! I am not too young to understand or appreciate real music. You obvioulsy don’t have any of her albums since you made that statement! Listen to ‘Make Love’, ‘Where did he go’ ‘Intuition’, ‘All of the Boys’, Toy Soldier’ , Beautiful Mistake’ ‘Hustler’ and then come back and tell me her music doesn’t have any meaning!
