Lewis is undoubtedly one of the best vocalists to emerge in the industry in recent years. She understands the importance of restraint and has incredible control of her voice. Although she has already worked with Carey on a multiple tracks as part of a group, I am remain eager to hear their soft falsettos and thunderous belts collide on a duet.

Mariah has gone no where but no doubt Leona is the Mariah of this decade and luckily for us she has respect for Mariah who other people who are titled “the mariah of this decade” do not. Leona has an amazing voice and is still placid enough to keep Mariah Carey on a pedastal 🙂 its really lovely
Leona Lewis is amazing and so underrated. She really has the talent and full package to achieve the same success as Mariah. And I don’t mean REPLACE Mariah, they’re both amazing and there is space for both of them.
When Leona sings a Mariah song, you realize just how different their voices really are. It’s a shame people can’t accept Leona for Leona rather than comparing her to Mariah all the time.

Leona is my favorite of the young ladies, but she shows restraint because she doesn’t have the strength, depth, skill, or capacity to belt or run it like Mariah or others.
Her head voice is the best out of the young ladies, but her lower register and skillfulness, leaves much to be desired. She still has the most beautiful and pleasant tone of the young ladies.

Leona can sing, long, but a long way till she hits the Mariah heights. Leona never really grasped me because she lacks range an emotion and makes many songs sound the same. This performance of Leonas was good because the backing singers bring all the parts that she’s missing.

Lol @ Leona Lewis ‘lacking emotions”. Mariah lacks emotions as well, especially onstage. I actually prefer Leona’s voice on this song, it is more authentic. We know how Mariah utilizes studio enhancers to create effects to the voice that she never produces when she does sing live.

Up until the 2003 mariah did a lot of live performances that were spectacular. Tell me what effects Mariah used in the 90s…I really want to know.
