Credit where it’s due, Ms. Fenty certainly held her own. Not difficult given Cardle’s uncharacteristically ‘off’ vocal showing. What’s more, if ever there was a time RiRi the ear-drum slayer was at her nasal worst, it was during the ‘A Girl Like Me’ era. Hence tonight’s rendition couldn’t have been worse than the original recording if she tried.
