Trey Songz visited ‘The View’ this morning. The singer performed ‘Can’t Be Friends’ from his ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ album which only just managed to pass the 500k sales mark in the US last week (after almost 3 months in stores). Check out his rendition below:
With all of those dramatics I would have thought Songz was delivering a powerhouse performance but I was wrong. All I want for Christmas is for him to learn to sing on key and stop yelping. Please.

Trent, The performance was horrible, the vocals was off key plus he couldn’t hit one smooth note. Dude was yelling and very off Rhythm!!!
Also he never grew up listening to Donnie Hathaway! or Marvin, he was just throwning names out there because R Kelly is paying homage to those before him! Trey needs to learn respect and apologize to Mr. Kelly for the diss track and silly rermarks made at him!

Trey was very nice to the ladies on the veiw… Maybe Frank Gatson does need to work with him, cause I saw what Frank meant.. He is not true when he sings..The production of the band could have been better and background singers would be good… Frank help the brother, cause I do see the potential..

This album PPP is a panic attack waiting to implode on him for creating a negative vibe in the R&B genre; He blasted a legend because he was expressing his art form and variety of talents elsewhere. Now Trey has figured it out that America’s Grammy nomination panel cannot condone violence or verbal threats made at one of music’s icons. Ready &PPP was not even mentioned for one nod, although “Can’t be friends” is number #1 on the R&B charts after Chris Brown’s Deuces stayed there for over 10 weeks! Trey’s single been there for 4 weeks and slowing down now with other singles on its way up!
Hip Hop is dead; I repeat again that Hip Hop is gone to its grave due to people like Trey and 50cent and Kanye West showing a lack of respect to the game. R&B is getting more grown again like it always should’ve been in the first place! I’m missing something right? I’ll even choose Jaheim over Trey, I’ll chose Eric Benet’ over him, I’ll no doubt pick my main artist R Kelly over him, by the way who was mentioned as the top 25 years top 50 artist to take orbit and get his due for making numerous hit albums and countless number 1 singles to hit the top charts. I say 84 singles touched the top charts and 50 songs reached the top 40 to set a record for artistry.
Now the View show performance was to combat the performance Mr. Kelly done on the Jimmy Fallon show! Huh, nobody was feeling Trey performance! But, R Kelly vocally killed every note and showed who can get the crowd into his jams live. R Kelly will win a Grammy.
Trent is right, the performance was garbage! You Trey fans need to stop lying to yourself and stop the crap speaking on things that was in the past and forget and learn that the legal process prevailed and Mr. Kelly were found not guilty of any wrongdoing! Now ask Wesley Snipes can him payoff the legal system?

He sounded pretty good compared to what he has done before. Some of his notes were off, but he did pretty good. I see what Frank Gatson is talking about though. He tries too hard to be cool, when he should just be natural. Get rid of the background track and add some backup singers.

LMAO I couldnt even watch the whole video. I actually like Trey and “Cant Be Friends” is my favorite song BUT I have yet to see him perform it(or any other song)good live. For me it wasnt so much his singing(which was off)it was his stage pressence. He looks uncomfortable and unsure of himself. Like I said I do like him and I would pay for his music but I would not pay to see him live.

It makes sense why you think he did good. Being likable and actually giving a good performance (i.e. being able to SING) are two totally different things.
I would probably like “Can’t Be Friends” if someone with some actual talent was singing it, but he sounds like a goat. I honestly cannot believe that I ever though he could sing. I couldn’t even watch past the first line of the song.

Yeah, frank needs to help him because it isn’t coming off as a true emotion. Like frank said, his playing it too cool. He should work on that. plus, the graphics for the background are too bright and distracting.
