It’s no secret that Mariah Carey has released some awful videos over the years. After all, who could forget the shockingly bad clips for ‘H.A.T.E U’, ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’, among others. Ah, yes, ol’ Mimi has been quite a mess when it comes to her visual offerings as of late.
Nothing, however, tops the criminal clip released today for Carey’s ‘Auld Lang Syne’ – a track lifted from her ‘Merry Christmas II You’ LP. All I’ll say is that if the singing ever hits the skids (looks at Mimi’s recent sales), a career in comedy may be her calling. For, the video is a complete and utter joke.
Check it out after the jump…
Oh Mimi. Clearly filmed and edited on Windows Movie Maker, this video was all sorts of wrong. From the cheap fireworks, to the juxtaposition of her dressed to impress, while standing in a mess, this was atrocious.
If ever there’s a lesson to be learned, it’s that less is ultimately more. Ol’ Mimi has been cranking out these recession-special ‘festive’ videos – one after the other; yet nothing is catching on (not even ‘Oh Santa’). Surely working select singles with solid videos and backing would be the way to go? And here was Mariah moaning on Twitter about the label not allowing her to release her Christmas vids a few weeks ago. After seeing this, I think I know why…
