Jennifer Hudson Is ‘Feeling Good’ For The New Year

Published: Saturday 1st Jan 2011 by Trent

Jennifer Hudson hit the stage on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ last evening. The vocal powerhouse performed ‘Feeling Good’ from her Weight Watchers ad campaign. Look below for her performance:

With the exception of a few shouts, that was an excellent performance. Hudson has a very rich tone to her head voice and this song gave her the perfect opportunity to showcase that trait. Hopefully we will hear more of it on her next studio album.

Omg luv her. Luv the song. I joined ww after I saw her first ad. I’ve lost 45 lbs to date. She’s my inspiration. Great song to start the year off with. Hopefully an album follows soon.

She is The Voice of this generation. She always has to get the shade by Trent though. Mariah could never! #ThatIsAll

Trent, Jennifer and Mariah both can sing their behinds off. Stop trying to throwing shade at JHud.

Jhud looks great, sounds great and she is doing great. Really looking forward to the awesome continued success that will come for her. She is such a blessing…great tone period!

You should’ve posted Melody’s rendition a while ago too. She slayed hers. Jen did good too. & stop tryna shade everyone that’s not as clean as Mariah. Everyone doesn’t wanna sound perfect like her. Some people wanna have different vocal styles & be more raw, rather than tryna be impressive with tryna execute every note perfect. Some people don’t think, they just sing.

Yeah Treant enough already!!!! Jennifer Hudson did an awesome job with this song. Her tone quality was spot on in every way. It is 2011 so let’s try a dose of 100% positive energy. Just post the vids without all your extra commentary. I am so looking forward to the continued success that will come from Ms Jennifer Hudson. By now we should all know that she is here to stay and will have a long and fruitful career.

She has a fantastic voice, we all know that. We saw Dreamgirls!!
But she needs to learn to sing the songs the way they should be sung. If you listen to the original by Nina Simone and Cover version by Muse, she sang the melody away from the song from the first note

As usual Jenn gospelizes everything. Same singing style all the time, yaaawn! This is what makes her NOT one of the best singers of all time. She’s ok, but MANY gospel singers can do the same. They just dont have the same public reach/PR as Jhud does so we dont know about them. But if you ever seen BET’s Celebration Of Gospel annual show, u know Jenn aint all that. Truth!!!!

She sings too hard and dramatic all the time, even from the beginning of a song. Sigh. Oh well.

I love it. She did it justice. I like her version but yes she could make her performances more melodic if she wishes to. It would be welcome.

Jennifer Hudson is leaving her mark all over the place. She is truely both amazing and incredible. One of the most versatile vocalist in the business. I love love love Jhud!!!

It was okay..I prefer Mic hael Buble’s, Adam Lambert’s, and Muse’s cover versions…Nina Simone’s original is untouchable as the best though

  15. OOOOOO January 2, 2011

She’s a great vocalist but like beyonce, you can’t feel a thing. so she’s a bad singer IMO

  16. Charles January 2, 2011

HATERS please, Jhud graced that stage with class as a true artist suppose to do. She showed up in rare form and showed out. The flawless beauty can sing any song and own it . Jhud has RAW TALENT and it shows. Like her are not that voice and the vocals are there, and she shines like a bright light all over the place.

    @ALIGNME
Nina Simone’s version isn’t the original. It was written for a musical. Research! Research!
