Britney Spears’ fans were whipped into a frenzy when the demo of her 1st single, ‘Hold It Against Me’, surfaced today. Although the final version of the track will be adjusted by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, the demo offers a clear preview of how the record will sound.

This song has all the makings of a hit. The beat, the reverb and the melody of they vocal arrangement all scream “club anthem of 2011”, and this is just the demo!
Spears receives a lot of criticism for her recent stage shows but there is no denying that she knows how to make a smash record. 2011 is going to be an amazing year for music. I hope Beyonce and Lady GaGa are ready because Spears is certainly not backing down.

I don’t get how the demo will be any different than the actual version. In most cases, the only difference between the demo and the actual version is who sings over the production. The production and most of the lyrics are EXACTLY the same. Since Britney doesn’t have much of a voice, I don’t see how she will change or modify the vocal arrangements into something different. Therefore, this “demo” is more than likely gonna be what we hear from the final version anyway, and unless they change the ENTIRE PRODUCTION, this song could be recorded and released by any of the above mentioned artists.
And what’s funny is that people are saying other people so quick to judge a demo, but there are numerous fans/stans already calling it “epic” and a “smash.” Isn’t that judging? And how is that any different from someone calling it generic or whack? Just because it’s positive doesn’t make it non-judgmental.

@ Kyle, J. Hud? She has a strong voice, but not so much versatility. I think she should stick to her powerhouse churchy/Tyler Perry broadway vocals. I am not taking anything away from Leona, but has she really done any songs justice other than those “misery ballads” that give you the old Mariah feel from the Day Dream era? I do think she has talented, but she’s great to listen to when it’s late and your not getting any rest. I just feel like she’s been zapped here from a time machine in the year 1990. Her true age today would probably be 45 and that’s why she’s so out of touch. I say that, but I do think she can sing. I just don’t think most songwriters feel that it’s a toss up between her and Bey to do the same song when they have material. Jordin is probably the closest fit, but she doesn’t have the maturity.

So basically we know no idea what the song is gonna sound like due to him confirming that the demo is old. So all that judgements towards this demo, whether people loved it or hated it, it just don’t matter because the final version sound nothing like that demo. (Dr. Luke’s words). So EVERYONE will just have to hold the judgement til the FINAL version is released. 🙂
