After a whirlwind promotional campaign, sitcom The Game returned in triumphant form on BET last night. Now in its 4th season, the dramedy had been off-air for two years – after being axed by its original network The CW, only to be revived after a hugely successful petition for its return last year.
Boasting all of the original cast, writers, and production staff, the show serves up all that we loved from earlier seasons and then some.

The Game was so crazy last night. The came in with a bang, Real Houswives style!
It was solid. I just think that the show was a bit all over the place. I’m sure they wanted to come in with a bang, but it was a little over top and some of the characters were a bit too dramatic and acting out of character. I like Tarrence from 106, but as Tasha Macks bf… that will take some getting use to. I enjoyed the banter between Tasha and Kelly as the show went on, but Kelly seems to be a little wacky. Her character was one you felt for as she was going through changes in the last season. She was ruthless and conniving now… even with her friend Melanie (she aired out her dirty laundry while taping her reality show). She’s probably just feeling her new haircut or something. I guess, I get it! Still the show always comes through with Darren and Melanie’s real life issues that they have to face and it’s a great story line developing there. BTW, Meagan Good plays a good ho!
I love The Game! One of the best sitcoms I’ve seen in a long time!
I’ve already watched all of the old episodes, and I can’t wait to see the newer one’s! I’m so glad BET brought them all back!
The show was good for its 1st episode back. The problem that we may have is that it was an hour long so we had lots of time to digest each 12-15mins between commercials and it was not adding up the the quality that we are used to from previous seasons. I believe the show will be ok, we just have to give it time to adjust to these two years later. I am happy the show got a second chance and I wish more shows could get a second chance, we’ve had some great shows in our lifetime.
Although melainie was crazy for what she did, im still team melanie just cuz I can’t stand janay she doesnt like melanie and I think she feels like there’s a competetion between the two! I don’t blame her for her crazy antics cuz derwin doesn’t make it easier on her especially not wanting her to be invovled with the baby like that but then again I see why he didn’t, idk its only one episode I can’t really look into much of it…malik is an effin douchbag tt is gonna rat his ass out to the owner and its gonna go downhill from there kelly has lost her mind, like why is she sooo angry?? And I love jason he still hasn’t changed lol…I liked the new episode and was I tghe only onethat thought it was wakward for tasha to be kissing terrence j? C

I liked it! This show is so popular and was anticipated so much that I went to a “WATCH ‘THE GAME'” party at a lounge/club to watch it with my friends. It was nice, because EVERYONE, including guys (hardcore guys at that) were into the show as well.
Alot of people are trashing the show because of all the differences, but people have to understand that this is on a completely different network, and the worst network at that. Now I will agree that some of the characters were out of whack, like Kelly. She was WAY too MUCH! It was weird. I don’t like the bitter ex-wife, who takes pride in taking all of her ex-husband’s money that wants fame so badly that they get a reality show type of character. WAY too much. Jason was being Jason and I loved that. Tasha was being Tasha as well and that’s my girl! I thought Malik’s part of the show was interesting a suspenseful-like. I kinda think Melanie is doing way too much too soon but she really needs to tell Derwin the truth. One thing I kinda didn’t like was that the setting was more soap-opera-ish and less sitcom-ish. Maybe that’s the reason it wasn’t as much comedy as past seasons. But overall, I did like the show, it kept me watching. More comedy, less soap-opera.
But I can’t wait for this entire season! LEGGO!

I have mixed feelings about the new season. In the long run I am sure it’ll be great but some of the characters are not the same. Malik is now so rude to his right hand Titi, and it was a bit over the top. Kelly and this reality show….I love the concept but hate this new personality of hers, it seems generic….Please bring the old Kelly Pitts that we all love back. I am so glad they got a new actress to play the Pitts daughter ,Brittany, but please explain to me why she is now a teenager and CAN’T act any better than the first little girl they had. I love the additions of Terrance J and Megan Goode, they did great. Girl Melanie really messed up this time, but we all know it’ll work out. I was really hoping the baby was going to be written out of the show. Over all I am excited to see the new lives of these characters unfold, but the first episode was a little over the top.

I thought the show was ok last night. I agree with alot of what everyone is saying about how some of the characters were over the top and so different. I like Jason & Tasha the way they are because they were the same. I was also hoping that the baby wasn’t Derwin’s because I wanted he and Melanie to have a little time together in their marriage before kids were involved. Anyway I think that as the show goes on it will get better. We just have to get used to it being back on after two years and the different things that are going on with the characters. But as for it all, I’m glad it’s back on. It’s a great show altogether.

I also meant to say that I didn’t care for the fact that they had Terrance J as Tasha Macks boyfriend on the show. I’m sure they could have come up with someone else as a young lover for her. He just isn’t the one for the part. And I don’t like the way they are portraying Kelly. She is too out there.
I liked this new season….but i didnt like how it started “2 years later” because i felt like it left me hanging from last season….and malik is extra rude now.
i liked it, they came out with a huge bang.. shocking to me.. but i know some are complaining but its the first show. its been two years they had to change up characters. they couldnt keep them the same way. you change over time. now i will agree idk about kel’s new character, kinda weird and malik too. wtf lol but i like it . i also agree, not much comedy in the first one, but they had to make it big, its been 2 years or so since it went off i give it an 8 out of 10. i cant wait til next week!!

I was glad to see the show return. Here are my thoughts: I was hoping it was not Derwin’s baby because I wanted him and Melanie to have a baby together, I did not like the fact Tasha was dating a younger person and she was smoking a black and mild and why is she so scared of Kelly???, Jason is still Jason, and what is up with Malik?? his character is really out of control and why did Megan Good have to play the role of a cheating wife? Why is Kelly so bitter, Jason tried to get her back several times, Kelly needs to chill out she is too over the top, I miss the old Kelly and last I did not think they would reveal if the baby was Derwin’s in the first episode. Just my two cents.
I agree with what most people are saying but alot of people are failing to realize that malik might be bitter and ruder because he is no longer the franchise player (derwin is) and he also got injured. As far as melanie i think she crossed the line, because now if derwin or jenay test the baby and find out the truth theyre gonna think she was lying. And i love jenay and melenia idk why ppl think jenay is a golddigger because if anyone remebers jenay’s parents are rich and she had cash before she meet derwin, so why wud she have to trap him? but i love the new season, and yes the characters changed a little bit but dont we all.

First, I think the show will still be a half hour format (it needs to be), the hour show last night was only for their return. They have gone VERY Hollywood & I’m not sure I like that part. Kelly has gone crazy & Jason is just dating (what happened to his steady) and Rick Fox isn’t there. Maybe they’ll bring him in for drama between Tasha and her new boo.
Anybody notice Tasha mentioned Terrence dating Brandy (as if she was his former girl)…Terrence really is dating Brandy now, that was funny.
Now they have another reality to add to the tv drama (good timing), Tia Mowry really is pregnant and due in July so Melanie and Derwin can add that drama!
I hope they don’t lose the real emotion of the charaters.
Derwin’s ex did NOT say it wasn’t his, she said nothing. Of course, Melanie not telling him the lab made a mistake will now be the source of stress between them and will probably make him and Janay closer since Derwin is fanatical about his son and kinda has a bad vibe with Mel before this mess like she’s not involved. Yes, Melanie was right that Janay wants what Melanie and Derwin have, but like most men Derwin won’t see it until it’s too late and will be hooked by Janay (she said the purse looks better on her….).
For all Melanie went through just to marry Derwin, she deserves all the good!
I thought that the season premiere was great! The only thing that I did not care for was Kelly’s and Jason’s story line. Kelly is bitter and I am just not feeling her right now, but that was just the first episode…we will see. I was hoping that they wrote the baby out the show too, but there is still more drama to come with Melanie and Derwin.
I meant *Jason* instead of James and TGJ should put up the Episodes of BasketBall Wives instead of What Chilli wants.

First off I would like to personally thank the CW network for canceling the game for 2 years because I appreciated what the show did for its fans last night & that was give one hell of a performance & bringing back GOOD, BLACK TV!
However……
Last night show left me with mixed emotions.

1. Like I understand the show was starting off 2 years later but they tried to cover too much in the first episode. The writers should have took their time and gradually showed us what has happened to characters over the 2 years and or where they are now.
2. Next i feel as though the show was a bit too serious. Where was the comedy?
3. Tasha scared of Kelly? C’mon now Tasha got “pookey” who she gone be scared of? lol
4. BRIT-BRAT is old!!! It’s two years later..shouldn’t she be 10 or 11?
5. Med-school quitting school? That doesn’t even seem like the character melanie.

5. TEE TEE HAS MORE LINES!!! I love that Tee Tee is getting a storyline!

All in all last nights episode was ok but I still need to warm up to this new vibe (seriousness) of the show.
I really think the writers of the game should do some kind of focus group or something with the fans & see where their heads are because it seems like they where a bit lost in a few areas & they should’ve gotten the fans inputs or thoughts. I’m sure that would’ve helped last night episode. I’m being a bit critical of the show because I would like to see it come back for another season or seasons. I want us to still have GOOD, POSITIVE, BLACK TV on the air before it’s extinct!

First off, all of the scenary appeared very cheap, from their homes, the club, everything. And the focus prior to this season was football, I mean they were doing too much last night. And does this new “Hollywood Era” mean we aren’t going to get to see some of the other players from last season who had small roles. And the laughing, please cut it. Also, from Rick Foxx to Terrance, come on. And I don’t even get Malik’ or Kelly’s new roles at all, this does not even go with the show. I think BET needs to tone it down a bit, they are doing too much, losing focus from the show.-the characters are all over the place. Is someone else writing the scripts now????
And the little girl is too old. I do like that Meagan Good has a job or a role or something.
And I think Melanie can still be a doctor and support her husband…don’t like they just made her a wife now. How about making them a power couple.
Enjoyed the show!! I have to admit I was not feeling Terrance J at first. I actually screamed.lol However by the end of the show I was feeling him get his grown man on. Malik is spinning out of control and it is hard to imagine Tasha is not in his a** the way she used to be. I think he will end up in big trouble. I felt so bad for TeTe that was too cold of Malik. Not feeling Kelly at all and what the heck happened to Brittnany, she look like a grown woman. Overall, I am glad the show is back and can’t wait until the next episode.

I’m so happy this show is back! While I like the 2 yr jump into the future it did leave some of the characters “out there” in terms of where they were at the end of Season 3 vs now:
Malik – a little more info is needed as to why he’s so bitter, hateful & reckless
Melanie – sh&% or get off the pot regarding that baby! Either accept it and move on or step – she’s going to ruin her marriage at this rate.
Kelli – seems crazy & bitter. Her hair cut ages her a good 15 years and she looks so hard in the face!
I am seriously missing Stacy Dash & that girl who played Pucci! I liked the storyline of Tasha becoming her manager and think it would’ve given Tasha a new dimension & storyline if she was managing both Derwin & Pucci.
I don’t like the new Brit Brat at all – too mouthy, too fresh & too grown.
I also don’t like how Tasha is ducking from Kelly 2 yrs after their fall-out. (Kelly did crack me up with the line “Tell Tasha that’s that a**”)
Overall I’m just happy it’s back and think it’ll get better as time goes on.

I did not want it to be Derwin’s baby. Janae’s characters needs to be written out of the picture. Wow, it’s his. Not good, writers. It would have been better if Melanie was pregnant, but she couldn’t tell Derwin, because he would think she was lying about Janae’s baby, so they could be a family without Janae’s interference. (Resentment) Derwin should ask Janae for another test of the baby to see for himself. (Riff)
Best black show on TV since The Cosby’s, A Different World, Fresh Prince, Martin, Living Single, and Girlfriends.
I think the first show was a BANGER! It picked up right where it left off. People are sayign Kelly’s character is too much. How? She was already beginning to act this way last season. Remember, she black mailed Jason into buying her a car. Then she probably bitter after Jason left court with Camille instead of her the last season. She has a lto to be bitter about.
Malik is the same way. He was already wild and now he is injured and he’s not the franchise player. So, he just rebellion. I think his character is the best and his storyline is going to be the best.
Brittany’s character did “MATURE” a lot from the last time we saw her, but she was about 12 last season? So, she about 14-15 now and doesn’t have a full-time dad in the house to keep her in line. It makes sense!
Overall the show was GREAT! It’s been 2 years since we last seen these characters. They’re supposed to change!!!

I just wanted to point out to everyone that BET has nothing to do with the show. The show is just being shown on BET because that’s where they know they will get the most ratings from the fans. But BET didn’t change anything they have the same producers, same writes, and same people recording it. Here are my thoughts: Why is melanie JUST NOW giving the baby a DNA test 2 years later? shouldnt she be over that. Kelly completely changed. I understand her being bitter, but going straight to reality tv? Jason is still the same but what happened to the woman(stacey dash) he left his wife for? Malik just got real trifling he never used to treat TT like that before. And Brit Brat should not be that old. She was only about 7 or 8 two years ago so this little girl is too grown. But since i’m a fan i do still like the show and i will watch it next week but they were doing too much in the first episode!

Well first off I want to say I love this show. The past 3 season was solid with it’s ups and downs.
Here is my take on last night’s episode:
Before I go on the characters, let me say I wish the show season 4 1st episode would fill in the blanks of the past 2 years! I know the characters have changed. But they have to understand there are some people new to the show who has not watch the past episodes. It just seemed like the jump into things too fast.
But the die hard fans have to ask the following:
Where is Rick Fox?
Why is Malik bitter?
How did Darwin get so successful (after the injuries) ?
What happen to Kelly and why the attitude of revenge on Jason?
What happen to the dynamic between Jenea and Melanie when the baby was born?
You see so many questions and no answers was given on the 1st episode. It like the skip a lof of issues and left us die hard fans at a lost.
Kelly: I personally cannot stand her this season. The haircut is too much and aged her 10 years. I am all for a new look but this look on her frankly makes her come off as a cold blooded B*tch. They need to soften up her look a little. She looks like the lady in 101 Dalmations! Her atittude to me was over the top and was not needed.
I absolutly loved how Jason mess with her show at the end. That was funny and brought her down a notch. Perhaps if they had her character come back starting her own business independantly and not riding off her ex husband, I would of been Team Kelly. Tasha Mack: WHERE IS RICK FOX??? I liked it when she was with him! Not this Terrance J’s character. It doesn’t look believeable nor any chemistry is shown at all! He looks too young for her. This is not gonna last! I would like her character with a constant mature man who is at her level. I think Rick Fox was the one and this new boyfriend makes no sense! This has to go! I love her and I hate to see her the single one out of the group!

Melanie please get over it. Darwin will find out on his own.
Oh before I forget: WHAT HAPPEN TO HER BEING A DOCTOR? I WANT HER TO HAVE HER OWN CAREER! I do not like this housewive stuff. It was good to show she was pursuing that. I hope they do not put that in the back burner.
Janae: I wish her character was just drop. Yawns! She trys so hard to mess up Darwin and Melanie! Why would she get the same purse as Melanie?

Malik: I would like to see more depth to his charatcer then the PLAYER role. He is becoming boring to me so far. I hope that changes. He looks good too but too much being a “player/pimp” on his character.
Jason: I would like to see another angle with him besides him and Kelly arguing dumb points! But I love him last night. LMAO the entire episode.
Overall I will watch the show this season. I hope the episodes gets much more better then the past seasons!

So far the show is completely different that the last time. However, I am interested to see what happens with the new format. I don’t understand why people are so against Janae and the baby as if Janae did something wrong. It isn’t like she came in between them.

So glad to ‘The Game’ back, I am from the uk & fell in love with the show when I came over to toronto to see my mother & started watching it! It’s 1 of the best sitcoms I have watched since ‘the fresh prince of bel air’ I have watched all the episodes from the previous 3 seasons!
The 1st episode of season 4 was well worth the wait, drama started already & it will get better in later episodes!

This was a great episode…im glad somebody posted it because i missed it last night due to work…but melanie is always up to something she should have just kept her damn mouf close to begin with…she so stupid….should have left the speck alone and then janae o triffling ass must have slept around because she didnt even kno wut to say…if she knew fo sure then she wud have said yea with confidence like she did when melanie confronted her years ago when she was preg….so she must did some sneaking around in order for her to be like well that cats outta the bag…but luckily for janae it really is his child and maybe they may end up together since his wife still on that petty Girlfriend trip..she needs to grow up and be a Wife…not some crazed girlfriend cuz thats wat she acting like
I was a little disappointed in this first new season episode. A few of the characters came across somewhat hard edged and troubled.. I will be thrilled if they settle back into the familiar and resume being the much loved television faces we enjoyed so much..
What is up with Kelly… Is this new haircut a personal choice? She would look better if she got rid of the 80’s hair and clothes. I short pixi cut would suit her.. (and a little less women scorned) I loved her character in other seasons… This one I don’t much like..
I don’t even want to watch this show anymore……Melody and her stupid insecure ass….she is forever trying to search and find something. Ugh!!!! Honestly they should’ve waited a few shows before the DNA drama… I know this is only a TV show but damn, they couldn’t have created a more insecure person. I can bet that Jenee and Derwin will be hooking up, or he may leave Mel due to this unnecessary drama. Predictable…… Anyway, other than that, it was aiiight!
Tasha known for hiding her relationships, first it was Coach, then Pretty Ricky, now Dante’. Kelly is crazier than ever now that she divorced Jason, but they will prolly get back together! Melanie done messed up big time wanting Derwin all to herself!! And Malik is going to lose his freakin’ athletic career now that he pissed off TT. But TT should be careful, because Malik can mess up his chicken business. This show is the bomb dot com!!! Glad it’s back. I think it would have been better if aired back on the CW though!
man i HATE melanie! i hated her before, and I especially hate her in this episode. shes so childish, whiny, self-centered and insecure. derwin should trade her in for sure. her character is so unlikeable and cringeworthy it almost makes me not wanna watch the show.
i was confused about the kelly/jason stuff cause it looked like they were gonna get back together at end of season 3, and also what happened to rick fox? werent tasha and rick gonna marry?!
and brittany isn’t THAT old. she wasn’t 7 or 8 in season 3, lol…more like 10/11. she would be 12/13 now. they seemed to have made her about 13/14 which is fine. they frequently age children on shows fast because honestly, kids are boring on adult-centered shows. plus she was always a jerk to jason after the divorce so its not that surprising that shes mean. plus teens are generally rude people lol.
overall the show is still good. im not so surprised about the changes in character of kelly, malik, etc. its been 2 years. people change. especially malik, whos now been downgraded now that derwin is the best player so its easy to see why hes bitter. and kelly was acting crazy before, she just took it to more extreme level. it seems like she still loves jason shes just too proud to admit it so shes acts like a biotch.

I think the Game coming back is great. But I also believe they should have picked up where they left off and allowed us to see the characters grow into the people they are now. instead of trying to do the math on what has happened in the last 2 years. I also believe Melanie getting a DNA test on baby DJ would have been better played out if he was a little baby 3 or 4 months b/c the fact that it has been 2 years and Derwin has never left her alone with the baby raises some red flags to me. I feel like the storey line is ok but could be better I feel the characters are over doing it a bit and they seem commercialized a lil bit. I dont like the way Melanie and Derwin are with each other, she should be able to talk to him about her concerns as his wife when it comes to his child and feel comfortable. And not like he will blow up or leave her. But I will have to continue to watch to see how they will continue on. I don’t like brit-brat she too grown for me. And Kelly doesn’t seem to be the independant “GROWN” woman I was looking for. She is more so bitter and childish. I would have liked to see her as a business woman w/ some class. And not really sweating Jason or his career. Tasha is ok! Terrence I don’t know about I would have liked to see Rick fox. But we’ll see.

Even though I was excited with all the drama on the first episode, I was a little bit confused and disappointed with a lot things. First the whole vibe of The Game is wayyyyyyyy offfffffffffff!!! When I saw the scene with the Tasha Mack and Terrance J. character, I was likw wth happened to Rick Foxx? Malik is an bigger ass to the point of disliking his character. True game fans know that BET is not doing justice with the Game. Honestly, who is going to believe that Melanie and Derwin (and Tasha Mack for that matter) live in those tiny ordinary homes. I mean, Derwin’s apt looked better than that. This is not materialism as it is a lack of production quality on BET’s part. And no one is feeling a materialistic Kelly. It seems like all the plot lines are being forced with over the top characters and antics. One of the reasons we love the GAME is because it forced us to look in the mirror – at our lives and decisions -reminisce a bit and laugh alot. I’m still a fan but if I catch it, I catch it and if I don’t, I don’t.

I love that the show is back. I actually really enjoyed the first 2 episodes and can’t wait to see the new one. Yeah, I am REALLY creeped out at Terrance playing Tasha’s boy toy. . .I actually turned away from that madness. But otherwise, love it. Yeah, like erbody said, BritBrat is a grown woman, but i kinda wonder if that might show how divorce does have an effect on kids, and seems to cause girls to act out and look for male attention, thus the attitude and grownness. Maybe they’ll show her pregnant eventually. Otherwise, yeah i do wish Mel would grow up. The drama queen thang is played out. And Kelly. . .well, lol, we’ll just have to see where they go with that . . .cuz she’s a trip right now. For the record, I do miss Rick Fox and I do miss Stacy Dash. Why did they request that you remove the video? BET needs to make episodes of the Game available online… It’s 2011! That’s part of building the brand and popularity. Make it available on your website or on Hulu! It’s really not that complicated.
