    OHHHH AND WHO HERE THINKS @MUSIZWHIZ IS A LIEING DELUDED LADY CACA STAN??? I DOUBT U WORK FOR A RECORD COMPANY. DIDNT U SAY A COUPLE WEEKS AGO THAT YOUVE HEARD MOST OF BRITNEYS NEW ALBUM?? WELL DR LUKE JUST SAID TO ROLLING STONE THAT THE ALBUM ISNT FINSIHED YET, AND THEY HAVENT DECIDED WHICH SONGS ARE GOING TO MAKE THE FINAL CUT. IM CALLING PINOCCHIO ON UR ASS.

  26. RihannaForever February 5, 2011

    I don’t like the way they’re doing this, but whatever. I’m not a HUGE Britney fan, so I can wait. However, has anyone noticed that Femme Fatale is set to drop in 38 days and she hasn’t even finished the record? Albums are generally expected to be completed about 40 days before release…

    @BeyStanBish
    I agree. I think they should’ve just done some 30 second teaser of put together clips of the video. This isn’t working for me.

    @Nichole
    Who do you stan for?

    @MusicWhiz
    I HIGHLY doubt that.

    @Kyle
    And what is wrong with @MusicWhiz being a Gaga stan? Their opinion is just as important as yours. Shut the hell up, dumbass.

  27. KYLE February 5, 2011

    @RIHANNAFOREVER IM SAYING THAT HES AN UNDERCOVER STAN, IF HES A LADY T***** STAN THAN FINE, BUT DONT TRY AND LIE ABOUT IT. WE BOTH KNOW HE DOESNT WORK FOR A RECORD COMPANY. HE ALSO CLAIMS TO HAVE HEARD GAGAS NEW ALBUM. LMFAO I CANT WITH HIM ANYMORE.

  28. dang February 5, 2011

    OMG britney’s vids usually suck but… Jonas Akerlund!!!

  29. RihannaForever February 5, 2011

    @Kyle
    Okay, then that is it. LOL, I thought you were just getting on him for stanning for Gaga, but if he seriously thinks he heard Britney and Gaga’s albums he’s delusional as they come. Even if he was a record executive, he wouldn’t be commenting on TGJ.

  30. RihannaForever February 5, 2011

    @Dang
    Since when did Britney’s videos suck? She always delivers on the video front.

  31. KYLE February 5, 2011

    @RIHANNAFOREVER GIRL I KNOW, IM SURE ONLY A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE HAVE HEARD THEIR NEW ALBUMS, AND IF HE WAS ONE OF THEM HE SURE WOULDNT BE COMMENTING ON THIS SITE LOL

  32. RihannaForever February 5, 2011

    @Kyle
    LMAO, I know! He’d be dead if he was!

  33. KaVion February 5, 2011

    This is stupid.
    The clips aren’t 5 seconds, they’re 2. Considering they do those intros & outros.
    I liked what Keri did for NBA..they had a better concept & Keri’s basic as hell.
    [NO Disrespect]
    They should do something like what the Beyonce stans are doing. The “Round IV” videos. I mean her record company shouldn’t be above that, considering all the shade their throwing. Britney’s not even being shady or cocky, her TEAM is!! What kind of team acts like that? The whole concept of these teasers are just stupid, because TV doesn’t play music videos anymore, so the only place it will be played is youtube. Therefore they should be promoting the Album & Slipping Single, not this video.

    The video will most likely be amazing though, I’m behind Britney 100%, I’m not buying the album..but rooting for her.

    Nothing like a good “Rise of the Phoenix” story lol

  34. KaVion February 5, 2011

    *THEY’RE throwing

  35. RihannaForever February 5, 2011

    @Kavion
    You aren’t buying Femme Fatale? I will if I like it.

  36. KaVion February 5, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    I highly doubt I’ll like it.
    The only Britney songs I like are Stronger,Not Yet a Woman & kind of HIAM..
    Her music is just tooo pop for me, and it’s mainly for the women.
    I like Beyonce, Brandy, Rihanna and the other more R&B driven female artists because their music appeals to everyone. I’ll probably end up buying some singles if I like them, but not the physical copy.

  37. Nichole February 5, 2011

    Well, I wouldn’t necessary refer to myself as a stan even though I’m sure others would beg to differ. But the excitement for our faves is normal to an extent, but I have seen worse. I mean I don’t go around starting random stan wars, and posting up stats or anything like that.

    I love Brit, and the world doesn’t begin and end with her.

    I have a very diverse taste in music.

  38. Nichole February 5, 2011

    ^^ Necessarily.

  39. RihannaForever February 5, 2011

    @Kavion
    That’s a good point. It’s nice to hear things from a guy’s perspective because I’m a female and the only guy friends I have that listen to female artists either:
    1. Have identical music tastes to mine.
    or
    2. Just like Beyonce, Rihanna, Britney, etc. for their bodies.

    I buy lots of albums anyways since it’s just how I am (I love having physical CDs), so I’ll be bound to buy Femme Fatale if at least 1/2 of the songs are enjoyable. I have all of her studio albums, anyways.

    @Nichole
    Good point. The only reason I consider myself a stan of Rihanna and Nicki Minaj is because I love both of their discographies, and I adore their personalities. I don’t stan for, say Beyonce, because I don’t know much about her personality and I thus can’t generally enjoy her completely, if that makes sense. Some people say I shouldn’t be a stan, though, since I’m not insane.

  40. KaVion February 5, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    Yeah I love physical copies to, but I’ll only buy a song with 1/2 great songs if I genuinely love that artist. Like Chris’ new album, F.A.M.E has been hit and miss with me, but I’ll still be buying the album no matter what because I support him & I want a physical copy of the album. I’m not a huge Britney fan though, so I don’t NEED the album. If it’s great, I might buy it though. I like to be surprised. S***, if Ke$ha ever released an amazing album, I’d buy it.

  41. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I understand, and that is how I am. I didn’t love Rihanna’s first 2 albums but I have them since I adore her. I probably won’t be buying F.A.M.E. (thank God none of the crazy stans are here; they’d say I’m not buying it because of the incident) because of the fact that I’ve heard “Where Do We Go From Here”, “Look at Me Now”, “Yeah 3x” and “Beautiful People”, and I only really liked “Look at Me Now”. The other 3 were okay. I have his first 2 albums, though.

    I bought Kesha’s debut album because of the fact that I loved her personality when she came out and it was a fun album that was catchy, but I didn’t buy her Cannibal EP because I only really liked 2 of the songs on it.

    What Beyonce, Britney, Kesha, Rihanna, Pink, Avril, Jennifer, Janet, Madonna, Gaga, and Katy albums do you have? I know, lots of people. I’m just curious…

  42. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I have:
    All of Beyonce’s studio albums
    All of Britney’s studio albums
    All of Rihanna’s studio albums
    Pink’s Misundaztood, I’m Not Dead, and Funhouse
    Avril’s Let Go and Best Damn Thing
    Jennifer’s On the 6, This is Me… Then, and Rebirth,
    Janet’s Control, Rhythm Nation 1814, Velvet Rope, All for You, and Discipline
    Both of Gaga’s albums (even both versions of The Fame Monster)
    and both of Katy’s albums

    I’ll be bound to buy Beyonce’s next record, probably buy Femme Fatale, might buy Love?, might buy Born This Way, but I highly doubt I’ll be buying Avril’s new one.

  43. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    I love the message he’s putting out with F.A.M.E though..
    Did you see his latest tweet?
    It seems like it’ll have a great message to it, like Beautiful People & Yeah 3x

    I have all of Beyonce’s albums except B’Day, though i have the video anthology because i did love the videos. I have Jennifer’s debut album, LOUD & GGGB, FUNHOUSE, The FM, Avril Lavigne’s Let Go, Velvet Rope & Rhythm Nation. I’ve never liked an entire Katy or Britney album, and I’m not too big of a fan of Madonna.
    Do you have any Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah, Keyshia Cole albums?

  44. KaVion February 6, 2011

    ^^Also Avril’s gone downhill..I forgot all about I’m Not Dead! I have that one to..

  45. Drew February 6, 2011

    @RF
    I love questions like these, so I’ll jump in and answer:
    I have:
    All of Beyonce’s
    Britney’s Britney and Blackout
    Rihanna’s GGGB, Rated R, and Loud (I got Loud yesterday)
    None of Pink’s
    None of Avril’s
    None of Kesha’s
    All of J. Lo’s (even her Spanish one, surprisingly)
    All of Janet’s except for her first 3, and except for Damita Jo
    Gaga’s The Fame, and I have the brown-hair cover version of The Fame Monster
    Both of Katy’s

    By the way, I’ll be buying Beyonce’s new one, Femme Fatale, Born This Way, and Love? No way in hell I’ll buy Avril’s, though.

    @Kavion/@RF
    Do either of you like Shakira?

  46. KaVion February 6, 2011

    LMFAO I thought you meant Jennifer HUDSON..lol

    @DREW
    I never really gave her a chance, in all honesty.
    I usually skip pass albums with names like “Oral Fixation” LMAO

  47. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Drew
    I LOOOOVE Shakira. I have Laundry Service, Oral Fixation Vol. 1 and 2, She Wolf, and Sale El Sol. She’s absolutely amazing, and gorgeous.

    @Kavion
    I have:
    Brandy’s Never Say Never, Full Moon, Afrodisiac, Human, and U Don’t Know Me
    Monica’s The Boy Is Mine, Makings of Me, and Still Standing
    All of Keyshia’s (though I was super disappointed with Calling All Hearts)
    All of Aaliyah’s.

    I’ll definitely be buying Brandy and Monica’s new albums this year. Do you have any of their albums?

    @Kavion/@Drew
    Do either of you listen to Kpop? I’ve been spending lots of money on their albums lately. They’re so amazingly packaged and the music is very high quality.

  48. Drew February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    LOL. I hate that title. The only records I like by her are Laundry Service and She Wolf. Her others are just okay.

    @RF
    I don’t, sorry.

  49. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    All of Brandy’s, The Makings of Me & Still Standing,All of Keyshia’s & Aaliyah’s last album.
    No I don’t, what are they like? Could you describe their sound?

    @DREW
    It just screams class lol..i really should give her a chance though

  50. Y’all are too fake February 6, 2011

    ^^^ loved Sal El Sol

  51. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Y’allAreTooFake
    Sale El Sol was her best record by far. She successfully combined all of her prior sounds – soul, Latin pop, rock, pop, and dance. Great listen, and of course I love “Waka Waka”.

    @Kavion/@Drew
    It’s kind of hard to describe an entire nation’s music, but it’s basically like an improved version of American music. There’s also C-pop (Chinese pop), T-pop (Thai pop), Fpop (Filipino pop), and J-pop (Japanese pop), but they all have very eclectic and foreign/alien sounds compared to American pop. K-pop isn’t too out there compared to American pop…it’s just improved. Their talent, personalities, and music far exceed American talent, personalities, and music in most examples.

    In Korea, the acting, music, and fashion industries are all combined by entertainment companies – which is why lots of singers act, or model. The main ones are DSP, YG, SM, and JYP. All of them have idols, or celebrities. DSP has KARA and the Wonder Girls, YG has 2NE1, Se7en, and Big Bang, SM has SHINee, BoA, Girls’ Generation, and Super Junior, and then JYP has 2AM, 2PM, and the biggest – TVXQ. They’re all kind of different, and hard to describe, but all worth a bit of research. They make songs in Korean, Japanese, and English. Plus, there are weekly TV competition shows where artists are pitted against each other for prizes of money or trophies, and their performances on TV shows usually match American awards show performances.

  52. sane beyhanna stan February 6, 2011

    Hmm these clips do Nothing for me. I liked HIAM but I’m kinda eager for her next songs already.
    @RihannaForever,Kavion, and Drew Heyyy 🙂

  53. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @SaneBeyhannaStan
    Hey! The thing about HIAM is that although it did break lots of records without promo (which is amazing), it’s like her team is acting like HIAM is the biggest hit to ever be released and so they refuse to move on and they want to drag it out a lot. I want the second single to come out next month, and this video to be out already.

  54. LaLa February 6, 2011

    I CAN’T!!! If this always continued for the f****** 12 more days…. I’ll be damn unsurprised of HIAM video. Bad strategy!!! BAD BAD BAD!!!

  55. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    I see, but is it in English? Some of it probably is right?
    I’ll definantly give some of the artists a listen, can I have some names?
    I’ve kind of got turned off by international Pop by Mexico..To me their POP artists are extremely generic and very late on different styles & techniques. I love other forms of Latin music, but not particularly their Pop music.
    That’s actually something really special that they all have multifaced talents. It might take some getting used to, but I’m sure I’d end up loving their music. Just about every genre has some artist(s) that grow on me.
    What do you mean by it’s “improved American music” though?
    I mean do you mean that by just American mainstream Pop, or all genres?

  56. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @SANE BEYHANNA STAN
    Hey, I haven’t heard from you in a while! Lol
    HIAM has something special to it, maybe it’s when the but completley changes in the 3rd verse/bridge but it’s nowhere near “EPIC” or “Game-changing”
    The video is overhyped, and 2 seconds of film doesn’t do a damn thing for me

  57. sane beyhanna stan February 6, 2011

    @rihannaforever
    Yess exactly its annoying to me cuz there not really promoting it there relying on hype alone and its not always a good move(the song is slowly moving down the charts) and about Aaliyah she’s my fave!! I love her albums soo much

  58. Al February 6, 2011

    Miss Spears is a has-been. Her fans buy her s*** the moment it comes out, but when it’s up to the masses to buy up the rest, they don’t. The public is over her old, untalented ass. It was cute when she was a kid, but now she’s just a pathetic waste of space. 30 years old, two kids, and still needs a parent to take care of her. Her single is tanking. Britney, sit your ass down! You overstayed your welcome a long time ago. This ain’t the 2000s anymore.

  59. sane beyhanna stan February 6, 2011

  61. sane beyhanna stan February 6, 2011

    Yess I was dying when I saw your comments lmfao but enough is enough ur name and hype alone can’t carry her through her career she needs to stop being lazy and get her spark back

  62. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I agree about Mexican pop. I love Brazilian, Colombian, Argentinian artists, but Mexican pop artists are so bad to me. I love European music and Australasian, too.

    By the way, the Korean artists don’t sing in English completely, but a lot of the choruses are either completely or partially in English. I speak Korean, but some of my friends are hooked on Korean artists that don’t even speak Korean. One thing that helps besides the music is, in spare time, sometimes looking up their reality shows. It improves the music to know they have such great personalities.

    When it comes to Kpop, there are some rappers or soul artists, but what i mean by improved American music is that most of it is like American pop/R&B/dance but improved. A lot of the artists make pop music with R&B/dance influences.

    I can’t post links because of damn TGJ, but do you have a Twitter I could contact you at? If not, PLEASE check these videos/performances out:
    Big Bang’s “Beautiful Hangover” and “Haru Haru”
    2NE1’s “Clap Your Hands”, “Go Away” and “Can’t Nobody”
    SHINee’s “Hello” and “LUCIFER”
    Girls’ Generation’s “Oh!” and “Run Devil Run”
    TVXQ’s “Keep Your Head Down”

    ALSO, I HIGHLY recommend checking out Big Bang’s solo projects. I’d check out G-Dragon’s “Heartbreaker” and “A Boy”, Seungri’s “VVIP”, Taeyang’s “Wedding Dress” and “I Need a Girl”, and GD&TOP’s “Oh Yeah!” (it features a girl from 2NE1), “High High” and “Don’t Go Home”. It’s so hard to tell you who to check out since there are tons of great artists…

  63. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    I’ll definantly peep those artists!
    Right, I have a hard time narrowing artists down when giving them out to lol.
    I still think it’s so crazy that they’re on reality shows!
    I could never picture Beyonce,Eminem or like Taylor Swift on reality tv lmao.
    That’s so insane to me.
    I love European music, even when I can’t understand them. To me, they have some of the most beautiful languages in the world. Mexican Pop artists are so bad it’s ridiculous. Look up Belinda “Egoista”. They’re so generic and superficial, but a lot of them have beautiful voices. That’s what’s so sad.

  64. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    Oh, I almost completely forgot! One of the best things about Kpop artists is that the wait for music is never long. There are way more groups than there are solo artists, and in between full albums, they release lots of EPs and solo projects.

  65. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    So a group sometimes does they’re own thing then returns back together?
    That’s actually a great strategy, I wish groups would of done that in America but our groups are so damn envious and shady. I miss music groups to! It’s like they’ve gotten played out or “corny” to americans

  66. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    Awesome! Yes, it is difficult. There are tons of bands and solo albums, and it’s so hard to recommend people because I never know who to narrow it down to.

    The shows are hilarious. In Korea, the pop artists don’t make tons of money since they have such greedy entertainment companies that take like 50% of their profits and spend like 25% of it on their wardrobe and makeup and they shop at the Korean equivalents of Target, so I guess people seeing their idols around Seoul and other Korean cities all the time makes them less untouchable, if that makes sense. It would be weird seeing my favorite artists on reality TV, though. They’re just so unknown, I guess.

    As for Mexican pop, I concur. Belinda was actually the first artist I discovered back in 2006, and I thought her 2nd album was okay, but her new one, and “Egoista”, are so superficial, over the top, and manufactured that i just cannot listen to it. The music isn’t even necessarily that bad, but the images are so fake. With European music, I love the way it sounds. I tried learning French but never succeeded, but still, the sounds of French, Italian, and Spanish are just gorgeous. I also love British music.

  67. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I know! The days of TLC, DC, Boyz II Men, N’Sync, and others were great. The horrible part about them, though, was that they usually disbanded for or after solo projects. I love Korean artists because they take hiatuses for solo albums but then get right back together afterwards.

    For example, Big Bang (the most successful Kpop boyband), has released 4 albums (2 Korean and 2 Japanese), 5 EPs (called mini-albums in Korea) and 5 solo albums in total from the members.

    The crazy thing to me, though, is that Korean artists don’t do much promotion before albums drop. Basically, they announce an album release date then release singles a few days before the album drops, or when the album drops. Their fans just flock to buy without hearing any material first. It’s crazy. For example, Big Bang is releasing a new album in 19 days with no promotion yet.

  68. True Blue February 6, 2011

    Oh look, for once the comment section on a Britney post is actually interesting.

  69. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    Yeah its very hard! But you somewhat know my musical taste so you could reccomend songs that you’d think I love. Wow they take up that much money? So is that why they do many different types of entertainment? To make up for the money they’re not receiving?
    Mexican Pop, it’s just like taking every last generic artist that we think have no talent here in the U.S and mixing them all together. I actually really like Enrique Inglesias but his latest music is so simple minded I can’t take it. I’ll have to listen to all of Euphoria because you’d think with a beautiful title like that the music would be better lol. He probably has some songs with better quality and more substance on the actual album. I’m glad he’s making a comeback in the states though. I spoke French throughout High School and learned Korean & Spanish in Elementary and completely forgot both. Well, I still know some French. It’s sad to, because I always thought it was so unique that I took Korean for 3 years at such a young age. Then when I moved to Nevada they didn’t offer it here.

    I tried to give you songs that are more R&B, LOL. But yes, I think that’s why they do so much. A lot of them act, model, sing, and host TV shows or do tons of promotion on TV for their albums – so that they sell and their labels pay them more (they get paid based off of record sales) and so that they get paid by the TV shows. A lot of them make about 60k per record. It’s not bad, but very minimal compared to US artists.

    Plus, a lot of the huge sums (millions or hundreds of thousands) get divided by bands. For example, Girls’ Generation has 9 members and when they get 400k, for example, for an album, it’s split between the 9.

    Mexican music is just so boring, generic, and bad to me, so when people talk about how generic people like Kesha are, I refer them to Belinda. I haven’t heard Euphoria either, and “Tonight (I’m F*****’ You)”, which I despise the video for, and “I Like It” don’t encourage me too. Yes, he’s getting his popularity back, but why sell out, to be honest? His Latin roots have completely diminished.

    I’m half-Japanese, and I grew up speaking Japanese and English. However, I cannot figure the Japanese writing system out, so I’m completely Japanese-illiterate. I tried to take French about 13 years ago, but hated it, so I started taking Korean 10 years ago and am finally fluent. The writing system of Korean is actually very simple, but the pronunciation of words is next to impossible. It’s the opposite for Japanese. I really want to eventually learn to read and write my father’s language, though.

    I used to love Enrique’s music, it’s just so sad.
    I don’t know if he’s neccessarily selling out considering I haven’t heard the rest of Euphoria. He might have some traditional Latin-Styled music or some “Hero”esque ballads, so I’ll give it a chance. I love the title so much, I don’t want to hate it! LMAO
    Really? Your Japanese-illiterate? That’s unfortunate to not REALLY be able to grasp your native toungue. I get angry all the time at the fact that as a african american, you can’t really track down your roots unless you have the money. I loved French. The thing about the class was that we learned about the culture to! We watched the shows, learned the music, cooked the food, while learning how to speak and write the language. The class was just brilliant and I love that teacher for it. I really wished I continued Korean, your right about the characters. I’d ALWAYS butcher the words though aha. We got to learn about that culture to, I remember in 3rrrd Grade? I learned this traditonal drum dance, I forgot the name. I loved both cultures so much, it opened my mind to the rest of the world.

    Oh, it’s Janis Joplin in my gravatar. Yeah, I assumed you were a woman because of your music tastes (stupid to think that, I know, but VERY few guys are open about liking female artists, especially pop stars).

    And yes, the French language and culture in general is very beautiful.

  82. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I love the title of Euphoria, so I’ll probably give it a listen eventually, especially seeing as I loved his earlier material. As for Japanese, I really want to learn it, and so does my dad. My little brother is 15 and he speaks, reads, and writes Japanese, so I’m so envious of him. Plus, he’s taking Mandarin Chinese in school and is fantastic at it. I’m really jealous, LOL.

    Also, I remember my mom enrolled me in some culture class at around age 5 and since then, I’ve wanted to study anthropology since I love learning about how different people think and how people are different but the same around the world.

    Really? I would’ve LOVED if my French class was like that. Yes, my teacher discussed French culture and how things were in France, and we made crepes (my favorite), but she seemed so disinterested in spreading knowledge that it wasn’t enjoyable. She focused mostly on verbs, and the fun in learning wasn’t there. That’s why I loved my Korean school (which was a weekly thing after school). I had friends at that school and my teachers were so fun to be around. I love Korean food, too. LOL.

    You moved around? I never did…I kind of always wanted to for some reason, though. I take a long time to become friends with people but I always wanted to see the world, so I’m so excited that I’m moving to Korea. I grew up in LA and moved to Seattle 5 years ago, and I’m already getting tired of it.

    Really your dad doesn’t know Japanese either, yet your brother is fluent? Lol
    That’s so odd. He could probably help you out when you have some extra time.
    I love learning about other cultures to, it’s just so much better to live with an open-mind. People need to realize that some other cultures have a better outlook on some aspects of life, just like how we have some better views [maybe not better, since there’s no such thing as a better view]. My French class & teacher were both just so amazing. He would teach us the vocabulary then he’d test us by showing us their movies, shows & books. It helped us understand the language while getting to know the culture. It was such a great idea honestly. We’d cook a new dish every friday, Crepes were my favorite to! I surprisingly loved escargot to though. I was raised in L.A to! I lived in a somewhat bad neighboorhood though, so we moved to Nevada because my grandparents needed to get away and we all followed lol. I actually love the hood more though, people are so much more loyal and kind hearted. What amazes me is people who barely have anything are so giving, while people who are fortunate can be so selfish. I love traveling though

  92. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @TrueBlue
    Korean is more difficult verbally, and by far. Sounds are similar in Japanese, but completely and utterly random in Korean. They don’t work together, and things are hard to pronounce. Try saying this:
    Nal Ddara Haebwayo
    It’s more difficult than say:
    Hajime Mashete
    The sound work better in Japanese….

    @Kavion
    They do! By the way, I meant to say that everyone but myself can read, write, and speak Japanese, so I’m envious. I also would let him teach me, but he lives down in LA, and I’m in Seattle until June, when I move to Korea for 2 years.

    Also, I love people that are from more difficult backgrounds. People from all backgrounds are great, but it seems that many of the people I’ve meant from more difficult backgrounds have a greater sense of life and seem to judge less. However, I’ve met people that are the opposite. I guess it depends on the person.

    Side-note: Where in LA are you from? I’m from Beverly Hills. Don’t be fooled, though. I’m not some super rich girl….I guess where I’m from gives people that impression.

    Yeah, some people are more open-minded and kind whereas others think that if your not from the hood, you don’t struggle and don’t deserve respect. It’s a double standard in a sense.
    Lol..the hospital I was born in was in Beverly Hills!
    But I first lived in Inglewood then I moved to my grandparents’ house in Willowbrook..have you ever heard of spokane st? Then I lived in Compton, CA, which honestly isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Though, my house never got broken into til I moved to Compton lmao. It’s really fun though, the neighbors are so much more nice, like we’d go over eachothers houses on Christmas. That s*** wouldn’t fly in Henderson, they’re cool but stuckup as hell.

  96. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I know what you mean, LOL. I can’t necessarily relate extremely well since I didn’t live in Inglewood or Compton, but I drove through there and worked with people who were from there. I’ve been to Compton, and it isn’t that bad. I guess people have that mentality since it was once REALLY bad. The funny thing, though, was that I wasn’t that into Beverly Hills. I just wanted to go out to the beach and relax!

    Where in Nevada do you live? I always want to be where it’s warmer, though. Seattle is really cold, and the only months that it’s nice are the months I’m missing this year.

  97. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    Yeah people forget it’s a different time now.
    I live in Las Vegas now, but before I lived in Henderson which is only 5 minutes away lol.
    RF, you got Vegas F***** UP! Lol. Everyone who’s visited or heard of it thinks it’s amazing and is like “Oh my god, It’s probably amazing, you go on the strip & swim everyday huh?!” No. It’s mainly an elderly town, it’s great when you visit but i wouldn’t recomend raising a kid here. For one, drugs are so easy to get, that’s why I got into them at first. You want meth, you got it. Its sad. You also have to resort to doing crazy things, (which actually can be fun lol) because there’s nothing other than walk on the strip to do. It’s a tourist town so the only entertainment is the strip, movies,bowling, things like that. The weather is disgusting right now. It gets extremely cold in the winter, then boiling in the summer. We don’t have a medium. It’s a pretty chill town and you’ll find some great people but as a whole I wouldn’t recomend neccessarily LIVING here.
    Sorry to go off , ask anyone who lives here, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be lol

  98. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    LOL, no problem. I’ve heard just as much. I’ve been to Vegas before, and it’s fun, but some of the people I know who lived there weren’t very excited by it. Besides all of the tourist activities, there isn’t much to do.

    It’s kind of weird in Seattle. There’s such a large business portion of Seattle, so the rest of it is either residental or you can go shopping or to museums. Besides shopping and going to museums, it’s kind of dull. It’s great to raise kids or go to school, but having fun if you aren’t a parent, busy with work, or a student is kind of difficult. I kind of like it here, though, since so many people are very intellectual and it’s easy to have an intelligent conversation about any topic, really. Except music. No one seems to know anything about the music industry. It’ll be fun to move to Seoul, though, where there will be more to do.

    In LA, it was the same. 99% of the people I knew were anorexic, drug addicts, alchoholics, depressed, suicidal, or something along those lines. Just because we were rich didn’t mean we didn’t have struggles.

    By the way, I’m so glad that people like you, Drew, and Sane Beyhanna Stan started to comment on this site. Before that, there were more people like Nicky and less people like The Kiddz, TrueBlue, myself, and you guys. Entertaining? Yes. Fun? No.

It’s just when I was in school, there was nothing to do but watch movies, go bowling & hangout in CASINOS, it’s a mess lol. There’s very few people you can have an intelligent conversation with, most people are closedminded and have a rude way of getting their points across-like the people of TGJ. Even in the hood you can have conversations filled with wisdom but in Vegas not so much, they’re some really sweet people though.
    Really? I never knew what it was like in the more fortunate side of L.A. That’s crazy, where I lived we struggled but we still showed love & had eachother’s back no matter what. You should show me the comment! I remember that post, but I’m curious as to what happened to you. I normally don’t really converse with the newer people on the site since the newer people seem to show up and then leave right afterward, so I didn’t really converse with you at that time.

    Also, I totally agree about the more and less fortunate parts of cities. People think that since we lived in nice houses, had nice cars, and traveled a lot that we were happy. I was, since I had a few friends that were really good friends, but some people backstabbed me constantly, I was constantly insulted, and I was suicidal and depressed at one time. Thank God for my few friends. They really did help me through that.

I didn’t know they struggled that much but I’ve met people from Beverly Hills and a lot of them are sweet people. Los Angeles seems superficial on the surface but there’s many layers to it. Love what you said about Nicki, too. She’s very rap, so I don’t get what people mean about her being “watered down”.

    @TrueBlue
    It seems like that, and yes, some people are like that but, in all honesty, it’s varied. I love LA because I had positive experiences and it’s really pretty in some places. It depends on who you know. Some people are, some aren’t. But yes, a lot is plastic…

  113. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    Exactly, I’m fully aware of it and I’m going to be there for my friends when their in it though. I do hate when people avoid their own friends just because they’re going through something? That’s ridiculous to me. If your friends are struggling, help them. Don’t avoid them because you “don’t want to be down”. That’s somewhat selfish to me.
    I hate when people downgrade Nicki’s talent. It’s like the SAME people who call Souljah Boy & Waka Flocka trash because they depend on beats call Nicki trash becuase of her BEATS? Her lyrics are great, but people can’t see pass her sound, it’s unfortunate because “Fly” is such a beautiful song.

  114. True Blue February 6, 2011

    “I do hate when people avoid their own friends just because they’re going through something? That’s ridiculous to me. If your friends are struggling, help them. Don’t avoid them because you “don’t want to be down”. That’s somewhat selfish to me”

    Yes… I HATE that. Leaving people who you call your friends hanging. I understand it’s awkward when you don’t know what to do to comfort or help them at first, but still they need you. People who are like that should put themselves in the struggling person’s shoes and see what it feels like to be completely alone and helpless and have no one to lean on. It is the worst feeling in the world.

  115. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I totally agree. I had friends when I was younger that would completely abandon me when I was sad, or wouldn’t understand why I was sad, and not care to find out, and desired for me to be happy. Not in a kind way, though. It’s like my sadness irritated them. That’s not a friend, and I’m glad I finally realized it.

    Also, I totally agree about Nicki. People get irritated when some artists don’t really rap but rely on beats, but just because Nicki chose to focus more on her lyrics and actual rapping than beats, the tables turned. I guess since Nicki isn’t your typical rapper, negativity just pours onto her.

  116. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER & @TRUE BLUE
    Those aren’t real friends. In high school I just got out the hospital, almost overdosed and wanted to tell who I THOUGHT was my only guy friend what happened. Once I did he replied asking me if I knew why his girlfriend was mad at him. I’m always there for people but I never get that same support in return. Have you heard Beyonce’s “Save the Hero”? It’s my favorite song because it describes me so well. If you truly love someone you’ll be there for them throughout everything, the pain and the laughs. That’s the REAL test of a true friend. I have strong empathy, so I always put myself in someone’s shoes, even if they’re hated by most people. It’s a gift & a curse, I guess.

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    I’m glad they hate on Nicki though, that’s what fuels her. She’s at her best when the guns are aimed at her and everyone’s watching. Her next album will prove it, i know it. Lol

    I feel so sorry for you! I hate when friends are like that…I never cut, but for a whole summer I sat in my room and cried because I was depressed. My room was on the 2nd floor of our house (high up), and I once contemplated jumping out of my window to injure or kill myself. I love “Save the Hero”, too. That song is always so helpful…it’s so truthful. I also have strong empathy, and although it’s great, I’m not always very opinionated since I can survey a situation and understand both sides.

    I also COMPLETELY agree. Nicki will never stop, and I can’t wait for the next album. Rihanna’s hate has increased since 2005, and her albums are always better each time, so I hope the hate increases (sounds weird, doesn’t it?).

    @RatedXXX
    I think the reason everyone on this site dislikes you isn’t because we’re “dumb stans”, but because you seem to be illiterate and you never sound intelligent, just ignorant.

    I know..the worst part is seeing your family’s expressions..it hurt.
    I’d never take it back though, it made me who I am today.
    God knows where I’d be if it never happened.

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    I cut for a moment..it’s pointless and doesn’t help at all, ok you’re relieving pain for that one moment but then what? That’s another thing I don’t neccessarily regret though.
    I got to the point where I literally couldn’t even cry, I cried so much I didn’t know the difference. Wow, you almost jumped. Thank God you didn’t, the world needs people like you. I genuinely mean that to. Save the Hero is just amazing, and her most insightful song to date.

    Her song “Go Hard” describes her drive the most! She will never stop!

    I never cut, but it never appealed to me. I did kind of cut though. I mean that I would cut pieces of my hair randomly. I don’t know why, but it gave me a rush. It’s hard to describe. However, there was a summer that was darker than anything for me. I kept my blinds down, and I, for a month, cried. Then afterwards, I just sat. I never put my TV on, I never listened to much music, I just sat. I would write on occasion, but I’d just sit all day and eat a bit. That summer was borderline anorexic, too.

    I did consider jumping…it would’ve been sad. Thank you, by the way. I could easily say the same for you. This world needs more empathetic and thoughtful people, and they’re diminishing. I do remember once that my family was gone and I was home alone, and I contemplated hanging myself. It was a very dark time for me, and thank God it ended. People never believed me back then because of my family’s money (and it was a summer; in school, I was loud), and because nowadays when I tell people, it’s hard to believe since I’m so loud and I wear clothes like these (not at work, of course):
    http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/20101203_seoulbeats_2ne1.jpg

    I’m often ridiculed, though. Actually, I’m excited to move to Korea because the way I dress is more common there. My brother, who isn’t gay, wears clothes like these:
    http://ibigbang.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/lollipop-2-vogue.jpg
    And is called gay…I just wish people would be more mature and realize that:
    1. There isn’t anything wrong with being gay.
    2. You can’t LOOK or ACT gay. You ARE gay.

    @ RF & Kavion:

    Really, it’s a miracle that both of you are still here. I don’t even want to imagine what would happen if Kavion’s s****** attempt had been successful or RF acted on her suicidal thoughts.

    I read a lot of stories about kids in school who are teased and bullied to the point of being suicidal— and they actually kill themselves. It’s really sad.

  131. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ RF:

    I wish the homophobic ridiculing would stop, too. Again, it’s part of why a lot of young people commit s******, they are made to feel that there is something wrong with being gay when there isn’t.

    We’ve come a long way in terms of accepting gay people, but we still have a long way to go. Also, I think this is the first generation where bullying is looked upon as a problem that can’t be ignored instead of the same old “it’s just a part of growing up” crap.

  132. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    Yeah, you usually will do anything to feel SOME sort of emotion or i guess excitement. My cousin’s half brother and one of my close friends both hanged themselves not to long after I went through everything. It made me realize the effect I would leave on the people I love. Thanks to, I know people are getting more and more disrespectful and have no empathy or understanding for other people. It’s sad, really.

    I remember I rarely showered, ate much or talked to anyone. No matter what I did I couldn’t become happy. Music and daydreaming got me through it, I actually would pretend I had a completely different life. I know it sounds crazy but it worked, in a way it raised by expectations of life which made me even less satisfied with my life. I got through it though and in the end it left me stronger :]. It always does, and then you have a story to tell people going through the same thing. I was loud in school to, I put up one hell of a front lol. That’s sad about your brother, people just use gay as a word for “stupid” or “wack” which IS stupid. I know gay men must be offended by that, though that is kind of over sensative. People use to call me gay because I was bestfriends with the girls they wanted to f*** with, that’s how they got back at me I guess lol. It’s sad, and I know how it feels to be on that side.

  133. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @TRUE BLUE
    Thank you, that means a lot.
    I know, it’s sad. I hate when I see that it was such a simple problem and they just wanted someone to be there. It’s like I wish i could of been that person, even though I don’t even know them. I feel so bad for the Gay teens, they’re at such a sensative point in their life and get enough s*** then you’re gonna go after them just because of who they’re attracted to you. That makes them less of a man, not the gay guys. I swear dudes can be f****** pathetic. I just want one of those fit, bigass gay guys to beat the s*** out of one of them. LMAO I’d be laughing hysterically.

  134. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ Kavion:

    Really, my idea of karma is for all homophobes (especially those who terrorize gays) to have the s*** kicked out of them by a group of gay people. Actually, I wish for anyone who does discriminate against others to have the shoe on the other foot and be discriminated against to know what it’s like. That should be a life lesson for everyone who has a narrow-minded view on things.

  135. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @TRUE BLUE
    I agree 100%
    The best way for a lesson to be learned is for someone to go through something just like it. Then they’ll realize what they did was wrong and hopefully better themselves, hopefully.
    Your way of resolving the problem is hilarious by the way ahaha.
    My dream is for a flamboyant ass gay guy to beat the s*** out of a bigass homophobe. Then snap in their face, put their heels back on & sashay away listening to Born This Way. LMFAO

  136. True Blue February 6, 2011

    ^^^ Film it, put it on YouTube (but wear masks so they can’t be identified by police), and have Born This Way playing in the background, LOL!

  137. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @TrueBlue
    Thank you. That’s very kind of you. I also agree, though. It’s good that with each generation, we as people are starting to realize that bullying isn’t okay, but a real problem. I also agree with your homophobic comment. People who are gay seem to think there is something wrong with them because so many people are homophobic. 100 years ago, things were far worse, but much needs to be accomplished. It’s funny to me when people are so against racism and sexism but are total homophobics, though.

    @Kavion
    I would try to feel something. I never really showered, I wasn’t interested in what I had been, and I never ate. My family did lots of cool things around the city but I stayed home most of the time. My parents didn’t get why I couldn’t just “perk up”…I love them now, but at the time I didn’t understand why they thought depression was an “adult thing”.

    They made me try therapy, they tried leaving me alone, they even tried forcing me to be happy. The good thing, though, was that my depression happened from June of one year to like June of the next. It was worse when I wasn’t around people (the summer), and although I was better in the school year, people thought my loudness that year was genuine, but it was a total act.

  138. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion/@TrueBlue
    Oh my God! This guy I know who works at a Starbucks near my apartment has bleach blonde hair, dresses gorgeously, gets the occasional spray tan, wears makeup all the time, and even wears heels. I’ve seen him around while he isn’t at work and he wears skinny jeans, loose tops, heels, etc. He isn’t a transvestite, but he’s a gay guy who loves those things. I want him to do the beating, LOL.

    The great part about Seattle, though, is that no one here is really homophobic. Some are, but it’s a very gay-friendly city.

  139. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @TRUE BLUE
    Lmao that is my new mission in life!
    I swear it would probably be used in Lady Gaga’s next video Lol.

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    That sounds exactly like me, I never wanted to go out. I just wanted to sleep, so that I could dream. I hated that they just didn’t even TRY to understand me. They just passed it off as a “phase” and basically just gave up on me. The worst part is feeling like literally NO ONE understands you. The only people I felt knew me were, ironically, the artists I loved. They spoke to me in a way my family & friends couldn’t.

  140. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I understand what you mean. This may sound weird as hell, but what I did was I made up people. I was very interested in the music industry and I was learning about it, so I made up a bunch of pop stars, made up albums by them, made up their entire careers and wrote about them, and I even did interviews in my room alone pretending I was them. Was it weird? Yes. However, did it help me to fantasize and be less sad? Yes. The weird thing about depression, though, is that I couldn’t put my finger on exactly WHY I was sad. I guess that’s why my parents thought it was weird.

  141. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I know exactly how you felt. During that time period, no one cared. I had maybe 2 friends that listened, but no one really understood. The best part about music in that time was that some songs put words to my thoughts. Everything I thought and felt was expressed in some songs and it helped me to cry. Some of my friends told me to listen to happy songs to feel better, but I was like: “Have you not heard of depression?”

  142. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    No, that’s not weird at all. At least not to me Lol. I’d pretend I was an artist, I’d write songs, think of the musical arrangements & beats, the album titles and tracklists. It was like a double life, only it wasn’t reality. I just felt more connected to the artists I loved, so I wanted to be one of them plus I love music. It just was the only time I felt unconditionally happy, yet it wasn’t even real.

    After a while you can never remember what started it all. You fall so deep in the depression you don’t know what first pushed you over the edge..

  143. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ RF:

    I know, I don’t get it. And I hate it when they run behind their religion to excuse homophobia, because I’m sure when it was cool to be racist half a century ago, the Bible didn’t say anything about black people! But it sure didn’t stop so-called God fearing people from being unabashedly racist.

    Oh, and I figured there would be a Starbucks near you, lol. BTW, is the guy you know tall and strong-looking?

    @ Kavion:

    Music saves lives, that I firmly believe in.

  144. KaVion February 6, 2011

    & I completely agree about the songs. It’s hard to listen to happy songs, you feel fake.
    I didn’t listen to uplifting songs though like Go the Distance, I Believe I Can Fly, Go the Distance etc..but the songs like Beautiful by Eminem or Save the Hero by Beyonce caused more feeling in me

  145. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @TRUE BLUE
    It really does, people who aren’t passionate about it don’t realize how powerful the effect of a song can have. Just to know that someone understands you..or hearing pure positivity and an uplifting message. It works.

  146. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I’ve only told a few people about that whole time period. Not the depression, but the double life. A few people I’ve told thought it was weird, but I did the same thing. I loved music (and still love music so much), and I was so dissatisfied with my life at the time that pretending I was an artist, and pretending to make beats, arragements, songs (LOL I’d pretend I collaborated with my favorite artists…), tracklists, albums, videos, and doing interviews made me happier. I was euphoric…I guess I was sad though when I realized it wasn’t real. I knew it wasn’t real, but I liked to pretend it was.

    How did your depression end? Like you said, you fall so deep into it that you can’t really remember how it started, but I remember I was sad because I was worried about who I was, how my life would turn out, and what I’d do. I think that I had a sort of epiphany when I discovered that I didn’t need to figure it all out. I remember that my mom, though she didn’t help me much during that period, said “I don’t know what you’re going through right now, but just know that I’m in my 40s and I still haven’t figured anything out”. After that, I became a total California girl. LOL.

    By the way, I always related more to guys than girls, and some of my guy friends were the same (they related better to girls), so I understood what you said about being friends with the girls that the guys liked.

  147. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ Kavion:

    I’m the same way. I can’t listen to happy music when I’m sad. I need music that I can RELATE to, not music that is completely disconnected from what I’m feeling. The only exception to that is music that has sad/bittersweet lyrics set to music.

    @ RF:

    Nothing you’ve said sounds weird to me. It’s a way of escaping your reality. In a way it was healthy for you, because you weren’t constantly focused on your sadness, and thankfully that kept your mind off of dangerous thoughts.

    BTW, I’m listening to “Somebody To Love” (Queen, not Justin Bieber), and I can’t help but be reminded of you and Kavion listening to the lyrics.

  148. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I agree. All the happy songs brought me down, weirdly enough. They just didn’t represent me well at the time. The uplifting and sad songs helped me to feel understood, where normal people couldn’t help me.

    @TrueBlue
    I am a religious person, but I totally agree. People who act like religion warrants homophobia or racism or anything like that are hilariously ignorant to me. I’ve read the Bible a million times over and there is nothing totally homophobic. People twist any mention of homosexuals in the Bible into support of their arguments.

    Also, Atheists irritate me. Not Atheists as a whole, but there are a few that go to my school who blame everything bad in this world on religion, and more specifically, Christiniaty. I hate religious and political discussions, period, but I feel respect is paramount and they don’t follow that. Also, he is tall and he’s strong, and sometimes he doesn’t get all glammed up. When he doesn’t, people are shocked to know he’s gay. I hate that people think your look or attitude defines your sexuality.

    I agree, as well. I definitely think music saves lives. Some people think that’s crazy, but it saved mine.

  149. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    Wow you to! I’d have the collaborations all set up! LOL.
    I basically tricked myself into thinking it was real. Like the dreams were reality and reality was just a nightmare. I’ve never told ANYONE though, well I tried to tell my mom but she didn’t fully understand how bad it was. She just thought “everyone daydreams”
    I don’t know how it ended. I kind of was accepted where I was and decided to move forward. Sometimes I don’t neccessarily believe it’s over, just that I’m taking a step in the right direction.

    Yeah with the guys, I’m just used to it. I never had my dad there and all my uncles did drugs. The only male role model I have is my Grandfather. I didn’t have trustworthy male friends so I got along better with girls.

    Wow, your moms way of thinking is amazing. I never thought of it that way.

  150. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @TrueBlue
    I’m glad you think that. I guess when people think from their point of view, only, and they haven’t ever been depressed, it sounds weird. However, more empathetic people or people who have been depressed understand that it helped me to escape my demons. I eventually tackled them, but I needed something to take my mind off of things when I wasn’t emotionally ready to deal with my problems.

    Side-note: Have you seen P!nk’s “F***** Perfect” video? I don’t know why, but it brings me to tears.

  151. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @TRUE BLUE
    Exactly, it needs to speak to me!
    I need to feel like they know what I’m going through, that in a way makes me happy.
    Yes, I cry and get emotional but after I feel so much better getting it out.

    Homophobia is just disgusting to me, how you could hate someone because of who they’re f****** is beyond me. I still get s*** just because I don’t have a problem with gay guys.

  152. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I never thought anyone would say something like my mom did. I was kind of shocked, actually. One, because most people act like they know everything, and two, because my mom seemed so well put-together. It was enjoyable at the time. I’ve moved on from all of that, but it was helpful for me. I’d pretend that that was my life and that my real life was like my celebrity nightmares. It wasn’t like I was mentally unstable or anything; I was just trying to escape the things I couldn’t yet tackle.

    Same. I’m not sure if you can ever ESCAPE depression, but I’ve chosen to move on. It took enough of my life away.

    @TrueBlue
    That song….oh my God. A lot of Queen’s discography has helped me through thick and thin in my life, so I’m never one to hear insults towards them and accept them easily. Just a predisposition, in a way, I guess.

  154. True Blue February 6, 2011

    *Correction on previous post: The only exception to that is music that has sad/bittersweet lyrics set to HAPPY music( e.g. “Dying Is Fine” by Ra Ra Riot).

    @ RF:

    Religious AND open-minded! Thank God you exist! I don’t follow any particular religion, but I believe in God, and I hate how now everyone who believes in a God has basically been stereotyped as a loony incapable of independent thoughts! Yes, I hate militant atheists, it’s f****** ironic how they complain about being discriminated against for their beliefs, but they do the same to others.

    No, I haven’t seen Pink’s “F****** Perfect” video yet.

    @ Kavion:

    I hate people who hate. Yes, it sounds ironic, but intolerance is the biggest turnoff for me. I’ve literally gone off, and I mean OFF on people on the internet for being racist/homophobic/sexist, but I’ve learned not to take internet discussions too personally (although I still can’t help it at times).

  155. KaVion February 6, 2011

    It takes a lot to admit you’re not perfect, especially just to help someone else.
    Exactly, I wasn’t mentally unstable either, it’s just like it was that or break out into tears in the middle of class, while eating dinner or even when with friends. It was the ONLY way to heal, that and turning on a song. That’s why I hate when someone insults any artist or genre to the point of calling them “trash”. I might say they’re bad, but never trash. If their music helps ANYONE, they’re a good artist, in my eyes. Exactly you never really escape it you just move forward until the good outweighs the bad. I agree about it taking too much of you to.

    Also, I love the video, it brought me to tears the first time I watched it.
    It’s so beautiful, sometimes a little too in your face but beautiful nonetheless

    Those are the only subjects that can REALLY get me heated & just spreading hate without a viable reason. I just would never choose hate over spreading positivity, even when I was depressed.

  159. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    Thank God I exist? LOL, thank you! I’m just glad TGJ is the way it is. Yes, there are the crazies, but when I first started commenting on this site and didn’t know you, TheKiddz, Amazing~Lee, Drew, and Kavion existed, I thought it was like Youtube. I didn’t know intelligent, open-minded, and practical music experts were on this site. It’s made commenting so much more pleasant, LOL.

    By the way, there’s this one guy who hates everything. He thinks that no one but Heath Ledger and Robert De Niro can act, he doesn’t think that any music except for classical music and The Beatles are good (he hates Beyonce, Janet Jackson – them all), and he is an atheist who finds religious people stupid and power-seeking. I’m all for opinions, but when you hate generalizations, why do you create them? Then he thinks that he has better taste than anyone in this world. I tried to talk to him, but he’s more stubborn and insane than even Nicky at times.

    Side-note: You should! LOL, I love that video. The representation of depression is fantastic.

  160. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion/@TrueBlue
    I totally and completely agree with you. I was so upset about everything. I actually wish that the “F***** Perfect” video and song had been out. That really represented how I felt and what I needed to hear.

    By the way, Pink is amazing and although artists like Kesha are great for fun, I love artists that have something to say. Yes, maybe “shutting up and singing” is necessary at times, I like that Pink has opinions. As for Queen, Regina Spektor, Muse, and “Disintegration”, I couldn’t have said it better. Anti-depressants and therapy did nothing for me. Music saved me.

    Also, it sounds weird, but I’m almost kind of free-form. Though laws and punishments are EXTREMELY necessary, I don’t understand why people can’t do as they please under those laws. For example, your religious views, political views, sexuality, race, gender, and other opinions should be yours and should be totally legal.

    Side-note: Do you guys dislike that music has turned very uplifting lately? With songs like “Firework”, “Raise Your Glass”, “F***** Perfect”, “We R Who We R”, and “Born This Way”, do you think it’s becoming fake or do you think it’s good that partying and s** are becoming less discussed?

  161. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    Music is just such a beautiful way of expression and the best way to help others to me.
    It truly is universal. I agree about being “free-form”. The world needs to be much more open-minded & realize the world is filled with so many different people, that are all beautiful in their own right.

    I LOVE the direction music is taking, I don’t think it’s fake. Considering that all of those music videos come off very heartfelt. You can clearly see that they all mean everything they’re saying. I don’t like the fact that every video needs a gay couple, they’re turning them into a fad like I said on a previous post.

    Also, have either of you heard Champion by Chipmunk ft. Chris Brown?
    That songs so motivational and inspirational to me, Chris’ verse is so heartfelt

  162. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ RF & Kavion:

    Just finished watching the video, and wow, it’s very powerful, gets the water works going, alright.

    @ RF:

    Yes, I was thinking the exact same thing! A lot of popular songs as of late have positive messages as of late, and Born This Way hasn’t even been released yet. This coupled with the fact that mainstream rap isn’t as painful to listen to as it was a couple years ago (still far from great, though), and I’m starting to think that mainstream music is finally starting to change for the better.

    Look who’s experiencing mainstream success: Bruno Mars, Florence + The Machine, Muse, Arcade Fire. They’re all nominated for Grammys, and in major categories no less.

    Five years ago, that would’ve never happened.

    Oh and that dude you were talking about who likes almost nothing should get that stick out of his ass.

  163. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @TRUE BLUE
    When she’s a teenager and when she’s painting that picture of her as a child get me everytime. I love that video too much for words, the “Firework” video is amazing to.

    About mainstream music, I agree but I actually think mainstream hip hop is really moving forward. Lupe Fiasco is getting the most mainstream success he’s ever had. The mainstream veterans are making semi classic music again & the new generation of MCs is amazing. J Cole will definantly be leading the pack, next to Drake

  164. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    Music is a great expression of life, and I also agree. The gay couple thing is becoming less genuine and I don’t like that direction that it’s taking, but I do like that music is becoming more meaningful these days. The fake side of it is kind of diminished with music videos, too. I don’t see what Avril Lavigne was talking about when she said her new single “What the Hell” was about personal freedom, though. It’s about cheating and not caring. It’s like she wrote it but doesn’t get it, LOL.

  165. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @TrueBlue
    That video is like my life story, just not as extreme. I just can relate and I definitely become emotional. The first time I watched it was at my local Starbucks with earphones, and I started crying. It must’ve been funny for some people to see this short half-Asian girl on her computer crying. Or kind of scary, LOL.

    I like the direction music is taking. The artists that deserve success are starting to get it. 5+ years ago, people cared about s**, partying – having a fun song. Talent, personalities – all meaningless to people. Some people think that hasn’t changed, but if you see artists like Muse, Alicia Keys, Florence, Bruno, Arcade Fire earning success and the fact that meanings in songs are becoming deeper, I definitely feel that music is improving. I just hope R&B makes a comeback. The dance craze doesn’t bother me too much, though, since I adore dance music.

    And he should.

    @TrueBlue/@Kavion
    Side-note: Did you guys like how Rihanna made “S&M” mean something more with the video? Did you get the bans?

  166. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ Kavion:

    Oh, the part that got to me was the cutting scene. Really, really painful to watch.

    And I love Katy’s “Fireworks”. I just wish that she would show more of that side of her instead of the silly party songs (not that there’s anything wrong with silly party songs, just that Katy seems to unbalanced on her lyrical content for this album).

    I love, love Lupe Fiasco. Food & Liquor and The Cool are the most amazing albums I’ve ever heard. He’s like the Regina Spektor of hip-hop to me, I don’t know why I see him like that, but I do.

  167. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ RF:

    I hope R&B makes a comeback, too. As a matter of fact, I hope diversity makes a comeback. I want to hear alternative music alongside mainstream music on the radio.

    I like the idea of Rihanna taking on the haters, but again I don’t see how she was “punishing” them when she was basically acting like every guy’s fantasy!

    Oh, and to touch back on a previous topic, I also love Gaga for the fact that she is proudly religious, and at the same time doesn’t allow it to conflict with her artistry or her stance on gay rights. She’s unconventional but true to herself.

  168. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    It comes off very fake. Wait, she planned the bans?
    What was the msg she was getting across?

    @TRUE BLUE
    Yea! & seeing that she engraved the word perfect, man it got me teared up.
    Lupe Fiasco is just amazing, the lyrics he comes up with..damn sometimes I can’t take it.
    Have you heard the songs off L.A.S.E.R.S ?
    Show Goes On, Never Forget You, Words I Never Said ,& my personal favorite Beautiful Lasers? He’s on a roll, this albums his most relatable yet..

    I love the acronym for L.A.S.E.R.S to btw..Love Always Shines, Everytime. Remember to Smile. So powerful

  169. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion/@TrueBlue
    I cringe every time I see the cutting part. The rest makes me cry and is beautiful, but that part is hard for me to watch. I force myself to for the meaning, though…

    Do you guys like the “Moment 4 Life” video? Nicki’s videos get better each time, it seems. I love the intro to that video, too. Nicki is wack as hell but she’s interesting and I love her personality. She’s kind of rude, but it’s like her personality makes you want more.

    Oh, did you guys see Drake’s new fro? LMAO, I have a weird taste in men. I think it’s adorable. Did he lose weight? It seems like it…

    @TrueBlue
    I TOTALLY agree. I want music to be new and different. I hate that it sounds the same. Every song. As for “S&M” and Gaga, I do agree about the way Rihanna handled it. Melina’s directing was all over the place and kind of hurt my eyes, but I still thought it was an interesting concept. With Gaga, I love that she’s very open-minded but is still religious AND maintains her artistry. She never sacrifices any of that. It’s great.

  170. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    The video’s message was different than the song in that, instead of being about s**, it was about torturing the press and getting back at all of the things people say about her, like that she has daddy issues, is a part of the Illuminati, is a lesbian, things like that. Also, she didn’t plan the bans. It was banned all over the place for no reason.

    Do you like Rihanna?

  171. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ Kavion:

    Except for “Show Goes On” I haven’t heard the new songs (I hope that Shining Down will be on the album, though).

    And yes, I’m amazed by his lyricism. People who hate rap should listen to him, then hopefully have a more open-minded view of the genre as a result. Literally ALL his songs have a deep meaning.

    @ RF:

    Moment 4 Life is a cute video. I like how Nicki & Drake are re-living their proms.

    I’m not into Drake, but I can see his appeal to women. He has a great sense of humor and doesn’t seem to care too much what people think of him.

    OK, I’m waaaaaaaaay past me bedtime. Gotta go. Good night, guys!

  172. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RIHANNA FOREVER
    The M4L video is my favorite to date, I love that song. It’s so uplifting & is a great, meaningful party song. Lmao I think Drake has lost weight, though Charlegmane went IN on his shirtless pictures & pretty much everything else. They’re kind of beefing, it’s sad.

    Oh I kinda got the message then, yes I actually do like Rihanna. She has s great personality & does make great music. She’s a chameleon, I love that

  173. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @True Blue
    Yes, they defiantly do. The album will be amazing
    Goodnight!

  174. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @TrueBlue
    I loved the video, and of course, Drake is cute. He’s sweet, he’s cute, he’s smart, and he’s confident. If only he weren’t homophobic.

    @Kavion
    I love that the M4L video has a great message, and so does the song, but they’re still fun. Also, I remember that. Drake then posted that new image and DAMN, his body’s better, LMAO. I can’t wait for “Fly”, though. AMAZING song, so I hope no one overlooks it as “just another song”.

    That’s why I love Rihanna so much. In 5 records, she’s tackled reggae, urban, ska, pop, R&B, dance, pop rock, country, and even a hip-hop/dubstep sound.

  175. True Blue February 6, 2011

    @ RF:

    OK, I’m supposed to go to bed, but I was shutting down all the other tabs I had open, but Drake is WHAT?!?!?!?

  176. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @Rihanna Forever @True Blue
    Drakes not homophobic?!
    He worked with gays on Degrassi & was good friends with “Marco” in real life. Where’d you hear that?

    @Rihanna Forever
    Exactly, she always finds great balance
    I have such high hopes for Fly!

  177. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @TrueBlue
    Cute? Smart? Sweet? Homophobic? Which one? LOL.

  178. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I hope “Fly” is the smash it deserves to be. Are you sure he isn’t? The way he comes across and the way he feels in the company of other men/the way he talks about guys and gay guys seems homophobic.

    Marco wasn’t really gay, was he?

  179. True Blue February 6, 2011

    ^^^ The homophobic part!

  180. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @Rihanna Forever
    No, I know for a fact he’s not. When he was defending himself after Charlegmane called him gay he even said ” and to call someone gay, is that supposed to be an insult” or something along those lines. A lot of people even think HE’S gay. I think most guys just come off homophobic, because they always seem like they’re trying to prove they’re not gay.
    I really hope it’s Nickis first number one. She deserves it, especially for this song

  181. True Blue February 6, 2011

    ^^^ Whoo *wipes sweat off forehead*.

    OK, I can go to bed now. Good night all!

  182. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @RF
    & Marco was one of the only stars who played gay that actually was.

  183. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    Marco was REALLY gay? Oh my God! Anyways, I feel bad now. I actually thought he was homophobic, but I guess it’s true that some guys seem that way since they want to make it obvious that they aren’t gay. I apologize!

    @TrueBlue
    LOL.

  184. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @Rihanna Forever
    Yea, I read he was but Riley isn’t. Usually we do seem homophobic unless we flat out say “we love the gays!” Lol. Even Eminem isn’t, though he comes off as a homophobe

  185. RihannaForever February 6, 2011

    @Kavion
    I see, I see. I’m glad I learned, though, before I gave out incorrect information. Drake is great. I appreciate intelligence and intellectuality in rap. However, it is shocking to me that Eminem ISN’T homophobic. The thing about Eminem is that, although he’s very shy and private, and even a bit scary, he’s funny. I saw him on The Soup and laughed my ass off.

    But that’s true. If girls say they love the gays, it’s fine. If a guy does, he’s gay. That’s why I laugh so hard when people say sexism and racism are completely gone.

    Alright. It’s been another pleasant conversation here on TGJ but it’s 2 AM and I really should be asleep. Goodnight!

  186. KaVion February 6, 2011

    @Rihanna Forever
    LMAO
    Goodnight!

    @TAYLOR SWIFTS FAN

    What the f*** are you talking about?
    At the time that I was calling you irrelevant on this post, I was NOT getting along with you on that other post. It was right after your first comment on the Janet post, then you made that “lmfao” comment and I replied with that message. Then I was resolving the issue on the other post when I come on herre & see you acting shady.
    Are you slow? You can’t use these times for accuracy, the times the comments are made are NEVER the actual time they really were posted.

    @4EVERYBRANDY
    Except for Taylor Swift’s Number 1 Fan

  194. Taylor swifts number 1 fan February 7, 2011

    I dont think its really right for people to get personal with people on here, by calling each other peoples names etc.. I just keep it to the music.. i’d not attack anyone on this website by calling them names, because i dont know them, think about it please.

  195. KaVion February 7, 2011

    @Taylor Swift Fan
    Your the only person I’ve called out their name.
    Your comment is hypocritical to because you don’t insult us because you don’t know us, yet you talk bad about artists. You don’t know them either

  196. Taylor swifts number 1 fan February 7, 2011

    @KaVion I dont insult the artists at all… i talk about their music and what they sing.. or dont sing as the case maybe, and not the actual person!

  197. KaVion February 8, 2011

    @Taylor Swift Fan
    Its whatever. You clearly can’t see your own faults but you can point out others.
    Just do you, it’s not that big of a deal to me.
    I have nothing against you.
