R&B crooner John Legend has been hard at work on his fourth studio album. However, perhaps as a reminder of his undeniable talent, the Grammy winner has served up a stirring cover of Adele‘s much-loved ‘Rolling In The Deep’ (from her smash LP ’21’).

Those top notes in the chorus are lowered and sound wrong. The scratchy texture is also not appreciated. Adele’s version has 10x the soul.

Yes Adelle’s voice is spectacular, but it is not unique. There is a girl at my school who is a freshmen that sounds just like Adelle when she sings.

She also added the “to the left” bridge which is the most memorable part of the song.

Des’Ree didn’t sue Beyonce because she took writing credit, Des’ree sued Beyonce because she put the song on her album without finishing negotiations.

Hell to the no…I love John Legend but no one should ever EVER cover this song. It was such a HAM that I had to stop it within a minute of it playing.
I LOVE Bey…but this is not her type of music, it would not suit her voice @ all (which I absolutely love by the way…I have the I AM TOUR on constant replay whenever I have nothing else to do).
John sounded good, but his scratchy notes were really unpleasent to listen to during the chorus. I still prefer the original, though an Adele rendition – similar to this one by John – would sound ten times better.
I don’t know why Beyonce’s name was even mentioned on this post because she’s got an average voice with nothing special to go with it, the only advantage she has is: vocal ability. Adele and John is what’s considered true and raw talent.
