I wouldn’t be surprised did over 10 million WW, because the way Adele is selling over in Europe is just beyond crazy and she’s close to 1 million in the U.S. with only 1 single over here, once Someone Like You is officially released in the U.S., I’m pretty sure her U.S. sales will skyrocket. 1st of all, again I’m not really sure why you felt compelled to comment on my statement? For me, it holds true regardless of what you may believe!
2nd, I don’t need the crowd as you seem to, in order to express my thoughts concerning the oversaturation of MARIGNAL TALENT within the music industry! Yes, in the “beginning” artists had to actually sing or dance or write lyrics or play musical instruments etc. in order to gain entrance into the music industry. That does not appear to be the case in todays music scene. My position has not changed!
3rd, I mentioned 4 CD’s that are play interchangeably on my “stereo” as you made some crazy statement about me being a person who has just jumped on the “good music” bandwagon. I listen to those 4 CD’s all of the time! For the record, I never mentioned “his” name you did! And yes, there are tones of artists – R&B, Jazz, Indie etc -that the mainstream media will never give consideration! This is nothing new and will not change anytime soon as the corporate owned music industry becomes more and more circular and therefore limited!
As far as my inital intentions, I’ve stated them clearly! CONGRATULATIONS ADELE, THANK GOD ACTUAL TALENT IS RETURNING TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY! I ONLY PRAY THAT THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING! Bye now…Mwah!!
I am pleased for a down to earth young woman doing well. She has an amazing rich texture to her voice, she can play most instruments and writes her own songs (or co-writes). Her ‘baps stay in the bread bin’ and she is modest and real. 19 was inspiring and compelling but 21 is mostly flawless save for a bossa nova version of the Cure’s Lovesong (which is growing on me) What I cannot work out is why ‘someone like you’ did only climb to number 65 in the Billboard hot 100? has it got an official release there? Will it be released there? Anyway good to see British Artist doing well in the USA. The Brits add depth to shallow artists like Keshia et al ….not sure if they know who Kate Bush is which is shocking xx peace
