Who runs the world? Clearly not Beyonce. The entertainer’s new single, ‘Run The World (Girls)’, has made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 but at a much lower position than her fans would have hoped.
‘Run The World’ entered the lineup at #33, selling only 77k downloads and garnering just over 18 million audience impressions. The figures earn the song a placement at #23 on the Digital Songs tally and #65 on the Radio Songs chart, respectively.
In contrast, both of Lady GaGa and Britney Spears’ 1st singles – ‘Born This Way‘ and ‘Hold It Against Me’ – debuted at #1 on the Hot 100. However, both records received more promotion than ‘Run The World’.
Hopefully, Beyonce manages to tear herself away from her escapades in France and give the single the push it needs to succeed. If not then it will be on to the next one. Okay aunt Bunni?

I think some of you have forgotten that in the 1st 5 years of her career Britney had sold about 50 million records. Something Rihanna, Beyonce, and Lady gaga have yet to do.
Beyonce wasn’t promoting “Girls” what so ever. This woman didn’t have any of her producers even elaborating on what she was doing in the studio. She wasn’t holding interviews or making statements in the press. She didn’t have teasers or claim to be on the verge of changing the world/having the album of the decade/ making the next “thriller” – none of that! Everyone is dwelling on 1 statement she made about a different/new genre and didn’t bring up what was mentioned shorty after that – where she explained that she only wants to mix up the genres she love and avoid being stuck in a box. That was way more specific and definitely proving to be accurate. Of course the vague comment that she first made would be over exaggerated when she seem to (a) be more focused on speaking about her album (as a whole, with all the new genre talk) and (b) mainly went into detail about her sound which combined different elements(which fits the description of “Girls” perfectly). The press followed her overseas on vacation and during the filming of her video(which none of us has seen). That’s why we stress that there wasn’t an promo! Bey stans have an opinion on other artist just like anyone else – what F**king karma are we due? Beyonce wasn’t promoting “Girls” what so ever. This woman didn’t have any of her producers even elaborating on what she was doing in the studio. She wasn’t holding interviews or making statements in the press. She didn’t have teasers or claim to be on the verge of changing the world/having the album of the decade/ making the next “thriller” – none of that! Everyone is dwelling on 1 statement she made about a different/new genre and didn’t bring up what was mentioned shorty after that – where she explained that she only wants to mix up the genres she love and avoid being stuck in a box. That was way more specific and definitely proving to be accurate. Of course the vague comment that she first made would be over exaggerated when she seem to (a) be more focused on speaking about her album (as a whole, with all the new genre talk) and (b) mainly went into detail about her sound which combined different elements(which fits the description of “Girls” perfectly). The press followed her overseas on vacation and during the filming of her video(which none of us has seen). That’s why we stress that there wasn’t an promo! Bey stans have an opinion on other artist just like anyone else – what F**king karma are we due? What karma are you guys(haters), getting back in return when you hate on a picture of Bey walking down a street? I usually see Bey stans critiquing music, performances, etc… You guys go in on Bey’s weave, her love life, her p****, etc! Now, this is really uncalled for when Bey is pretty humble. There are too many chicks walking around giving themselves too much credit that would be a drop in the bucket for most of the lengendary divas(who all were pretty humble too)! This is just the beginning folks, Irreplaceable and Single ladies started out in the high 80’s.
