To be honest I was never a huge DC fan and I liked the singles she released from Dangerously in Love. I didn’t become a fan until the B-Day era. When I first heard Deja- Vu I just fell in love with it. The way she hiccupped over the beats on that album with her fiery yet still sensual vocals made me gasp.
But the thing that really sealed the deal for me is when I went to go the Beyonce Experience concert. The energy she let out on the stage wowed me. And I was ever more impressed by her vocals, because before I went to the concert I didn’t believe that she was much of a vocalist. I remember being like “Damn this girl can really sing and she’s jumping up and down in 6 inch heels.”

Alicia flopped? The Elements of freedom SOLD, not shipped, but SOLD more than 1.3 million copies in the US ALONE between December 2009 and June 2010. Add her producer and songwriter credits to her performace credits and it adds up to a decent payday. Not to mention the production and writing credits for other artisits like Whitney Houston’s Million Dollar Bill. She also sang the hook on New York State of Mind…more cash. She had a pretty good year. She’s certainly not my fav, but you gotta giver her credit she moving a lot of people all over the world.

For ballads, I know you love Resentment, but I wouldn’t want to see it. Lol. I’d want DIL, Flaws & All, Kissing You, ALL the ballads of I Am & Scared of Lonely, only if she performed it how she did at the I Am Yours concert. I really hope this new music brings it! I love live instruments so it’s definantly a plus. I love Stevie & Lauryn as well, and the more creative the better. Who else did she say influenced her for this album? I forget.
