Britney Spears may be enjoying some success in the US with her ‘Femme Fatale’ LP, however it appears the singer is not so Lucky when it comes to the UK market.

Having debuted with one of the lowest first week tally’s of Spears’ career, ‘Fatale’ seems to be in relative free-fall on this side of the pond.
Arriving at #8 on the Official Top 40 UK Album Chart last week, the album, Spears’ 7th, dropped a whopping 8 places to #16 in its second week.
With all signs pointing to the 29 year old focussing on North America with this project (see: promotion and tour), the record’s tanking in other territories arguably matters less than it would had she plugged it there.
However, given Ms. Spears’ superstar status, as well the controversy surrounding her full stop (see: lip-synching, stiff dancing, body doubles), it makes it difficult to read her chart predicament as anything other than a disaster.
Oh Britney, Britney.
Still, with a Rihanna ‘S&M’ collabo on the way, ‘Fatale’s fortunes may very well change. Saying that, Ms. Fenty has difficulty shifting albums herself, so maybe not. Time will tell…
