Christina Aguilera finally has a reason to celebrate. After a catastrophic year packed with low album sales, embarrassing live performances and personal upsets, NBC’s new show, ‘The Voice’, has scored a major victory for the former ‘it’ girl.
‘The Voice’ debuted last evening to strong ratings, with over 11.4 million viewers in the 1st hour on air. Furthermore, in an even more impressive feat, the show attracted even more people in the 2nd hour, climbing to 12.2 million watchers.
Although ‘The Voice’ was unable to outperform ABC’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ which scored 18 million viewers in the 1st hour, the new series managed to surpass ratings giant ‘Glee’ by over 2.8 million consumers. What a girl wants? A hit TV show.

It was a fun show. I only watched the first hour but If I would have had the chance I wouldn’t have missed the 2nd.
My fav coach is Blake, you can tell he’s a super competitive, smart one. Cee Lo was fun, Adam is hot and Xtina did a good job.
Some contestants have better voices than the coaches themselves, and that makes the show even more entertaining and interesting to watch.
Looking forward to seeing it the next week.

I didn’t watch the show because it comes at the same time of my telenovela “La Reina del Sur” which has very respectable raitings too, averaging 8 million viewers per DAILY episode.
But I did watch a couple of the auditions only, mainly because friends from youtube were sending me the clips. I watched Tarralyn and Frenchie and that guy Javier.
Tarralyn sure can sing, her belting was amazing and her head voice was awesome
Frenchie was not well in tune, but she is talented and could potentially improve
Javier sounded nice, but not remarkable for my taste, just “nice”.
^Awww me just finished watching the show (downloaded it). IMHO, I think it’s an okay show… but since it’s new format of singing contest, that’s what makes it refreshing to watch. & no tearing down the contestants (ala Simon) which i loved coz too much negativity (showed on many reality shows) reflected on today’s behavior… which irks me in many way. btw, I Agreed on your comment toward Frenchie… Tarralyn is better overall, based on this audition*
Tarralyn’s weakness is her middle low, which is Christina’s main strenght range wise.
anyway… I LOVED the coaches interaction! THIS IS WHAT I CALL FUN, a well known singers Bitching/Fighting for a normal people (who got HUGE talent) to get them in their team!

It was a great show. Healthy competition and they aren’t “judges” they are coaches. I liked Christina and Adam fighting each other. Shes a diva but not in a malicious way. I liked when they didnt pick the pretty girl with the ok voice and they turn the chairs around and were like oh youre so pretty! Obviously Idol would have advanced the girl because she was good looking and thats what makes this show different. Its really just about the talent!
