Hold on to your seats because Beyonce is about to blast off! The global phenom’s new single ‘Run The World (Girls)’ has been given an official release date and it is a lot sooner than your think.
‘Run The World’ will be issued to iTunes tomorrow morning and serviced radio at 8am EST. The song was written by The-Dream and Beyonce, who initially collaborated on one of her biggest hits, ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’.
Interestingly, on the track that features a direct sample of Diplo and Switch’s Major Lazer hit, ‘Pon Di Floor’, includes production credits by by Beyonce and Shea Taylor. I wonder which part of the song she changed? Snatch those credits and run!

I don’t understand how a singer like Bey would once again (Single Ladies) come at us with a single that does not showcase those criminally underrated vocals of hers. When she said this album would be a gumbo of her favorite genres and then talked about the influences (MJ “Off the Wall, Fela Kuti, The Stylistics, Lauryn Hill), I hear none of them in this track. – Understanding that stanning should not be personal. These are entertainment figures and the conversations should remain in that realm. If somebody disrespects Nicki Minaj that does not mean you should tweet their phone number and send post their naked pictures for the world to see (but you can email them to me) .
– Finally (and most importantly) The use of 3 simple words:

We must get to the point when we realize that most of what is debated in stan wars is conjecture and opinions. Then we must not be so dependent on having those opinions validated by other people. I understand the need to correct, educate, or “drag” but at the end of the day people will see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe as long as it fits their cause.
It’s fun to drag people, sometimes even fun to throw shade, but we can understand that it doesn’t really change anything. At the end of the day the only person who can change someone’s mind about the artist you stan for is the artist themselves.
If you’re going to spend hours of your day exerting energy why not exert positive energy. Why not make friends with other stan groups (particularly stans of artists that are more successful than yours)? Instead of Stan Wars, why not have Stan Networks? Most of you stan for flops anyway. Do you really think you should be picking fights and turning even more people against your favorite artist?
When you go back and forth with somebody over a computer who are you trying to convince. Them or you? The comments that you make may make you feel better temporarily but they change nothing in the long run, and you’re back to bitching and fighting the next day. It has become an endless cycle but I believe it can stop. When we get to the point where we don’t let the opinions of others dictate how we receive art and entertainment, things it may end stan wars and bring the fun back into being a fan.
In essence, the purpose of the this site is to foster a spirit of self-awareness, mutual respect, and unsnatched wigs.

Well, I don’t think Gaga is used to ridicule. Her first two albums were well-received and she had all her fans (and even non-fans) falling in love with her music. But now that people are accusing her of plagiarism, she’s having a hard time dealing with it. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that Gaga thought the BTW era was going to go differently than it has.
I totally agree about the effort, too. I’m having deja vu with this whole thing. Remember The Killers, in the midst of making Sam’s Town, Brandon said this was going to best album of the past 20 years? People were saying that if they didn’t deliver on that front, that quote was going to bite him in the ass. Well a few months later when the album was released, it did come back to haunt him. The album still did well commercially because of the support from their fans, but all the hype they had from their first album wasn’t matched on their second record. I see this happening with GaGa… except that Sam’s Town was truly a wonderful album. Just not the best of the past 20 years, as Brandon claimed.

I keep going back to Sam’s Town, too! It was a great album, but The Killers became so cocky, so pompous, and so overly-confident about the record. They acted and believed that the record would be career-defining and the best album heard in years. Then, of course, it wasn’t! It wasn’t bad at all, like you said, but it was so overhyped that they disappointed compared to that.
Born This Way will obviously have heaps of commercial success; she’s Gaga, that’s how it works for her right now, at this point in time. But referring to the record as the best album of the decade is only going to shatter any potential or greatness that the album possesses. Oh, how I worry for her.

Nicki comes across as much too sarcastic and ungrateful, while Rihanna comes across as ungrateful, too, and very insincere. Neither of them are those things, but I do wish they’d be more careful with the way they tweet. I know they both take Twitter as complete fun, but they should realize that what they tweet is important.

Even if the song doesnt get to number 1 it doesnt matter her album will still sell 2x that of britney and proberly more than Rihanna. people place too much emphasis on single sales, they represent such a small proportion of an artist musical catolouge. Rihanna should be part of the trinity, shes done amazing this year but Britney’s released a half decent album which has not seen success anywhere outside of the U.S. Even in the US its success is minimal as it failed to sell 500k in the space of an entire month, i think it will struggle to reach 1m in the US or 3million world wide. On top that her performances and vocals have falling rock bottom, i cant think of anyone else in the industry who performs worse than she does currently, not hating but its true.
Having said that i will agree Beyonce’s 1st single is dodgy, the final version probably wont deviate much from what we saw in the demo. Her albums tend to very consistant and the preview of another song from the album called “Never let me go” sounds amazing. But unlike Bridtney even if her new song/album sounds mediocre (which i think is unlikely considering the amount of talent working this album) her performances will always push her sales sky high.
Gaga, Rihanna and beyonce will rule 2011, katy perry will do well singles wise. Britney is by no means finished but she is no longer amongst the elite in terms of sales, popularity and creativity.
