These the words of The Dream, who today released the latest remix of Kelly Rowland‘s summer sizzler ‘Motivation’.
The singer-songwriter, who penned Beyonce‘s ‘Single Ladies’ as well as her latest release ‘Run The World’, is currently in the studio with the Rowland putting the finishing touches to her third studio LP ‘Here I Am’.
Does Dream’s rendition fare better than that of of Da Brat, Jeremih, or even the original? Judge for yourself after the jump…
Rubbish.
From the autotune, to the overtly ‘wordy’ lyrics, to Mr Nash’s grating vocals, this was all flavours of wrong. However, on the up side, fact so many are jumping on the track (together with its high Billboard spot) reaffirms its undeniable hit status. Go Kelly.

Ugh! I don’t appreciate Dream messing up Kelly’s song. This was s*** and seductive and now he came in and makes it sound nasty. Go away Dream!!! But , I must say, I loved Da Brat’s version. Kelly doing big things. Proud of Ms. Kelly.
I’m loving the fact that so many of her peers and contemporaries are showing her love. From all of the celebrities tweeting how much they love the song (Brandy, Trey Songs, Busta Rhymes, Tia Mowry, Melanie Fiona and MANY more) to Rico Love continuing to give Kelly her much deserved propers to Jim Johnson commenting on her success to Frank Gatson overseeing Kelly’s visuals this go ’round. So many people want to see this girl win; and the people who don’t are just miserable, mean and evil because Kelly has shown herself to be one of, if not the most sweet, most genuine, most humble, most beautiful (inside and out) female artist in the game. Then there’s the FACT that she’s CRAZY TALENTED. Does she have flaws? Of course, there is not a human being who doesn’t, but for the most part I can’t find anything not to like about this girl, which is why I don’t understand all of the shade that gets thrown her way.
I’m glad Motivation is doing it’s thing without any real promo, but I too am ready for a televised interview and performance. The song could be top ten on billboard hot 100 and/or number 1 on the r&b charts if Kelly would just promote, perform, please.
You know, in my commenting about all of the celebrities who have tweeted in support of Kelly I realized that there are two people in particular who FAILED to give Kelly any public acknowledgment or support. Surprisingly enough, neither Beyonce nor Solange have had anything to say (via twitter or otherwise) about their “sister’s” recent success. Michelle managed to gush over Kelly’s single via twitter, but I guess Bey-allaboutme and Basement baby Solange (I’m SORRY; I usually don’t resort to name calling but I just couldn’t resist LOL) couldn’t find the time to publicly show some love for a fellow artist who also happens to be their “sister”, ‘group mate’, “best friend”, ‘cheer leader’ and personal promoter. Kelly wasted no time tweeting praises for Bey’s new video. Yet another thing to admire about Kelly. She’s incredibly SELFLESS, which, while endearing, serves as the BIGGEST reason Kelly has never been seen as anything more than Beyonce’s 2nd in command. She’s finally shedding that image, but still manages to publicly support her girl. I only hope that Kelly will not be tributing or presenting Beyonce with her award at the Billboard award show on tomorrow night. As sweet and sentimental as that would be, the last thing that Kelly needs right now is to once again be associated with Beyonce’s coat tails. Kelly is still EMERGING as that “leading lady” we all know she can and should be and I wouldn’t want anything jeopardizing that and setting her back a good five years. I think I can speak for every Kelly Rowland supporter when I say that none of us miss those days when Kelly seemed to bow down to Beyonce. THAT $#!T is OVER. Kelly needs to realize that while she and Bey are ‘sister-girlfriends’, they are also chart contemporaries; which means they are COMPETING whether they want to or not. Therefore, Kelly needs to be able to love her “sister” and kick her @$$ on the charts at the same time. Kelly needs to start thinking about how all of this effects her CAREER. It’s O.K. to put that first for once. Beyonce ALWAYS has, now Kelly needs to follow suite. Kelly once said that she learns a lot from Beyonce. Hopefully one of the things she learned is how to be a little selfish because she’s going to need that at this point in her career. She can start by NOT tweeting for people who don’t tweet for her.
Normally, I would not encourage anyone to be all about themselves; but desperate times call for desperate measures. It’s not as much about being selfish as it is about being smart; and continuing to praise Beyonce on twitter, in interviews, in album inserts, etc. , is not smart. Especially when she doesn’t do the same for you.
Man, I did not mean to rant like this. I guess it needed to be said. This is my comment for the month.
