In what may be the most anticipated news in Pop music all year, Hits Daily Double have released their prediction as to what Beyonce‘s latest album ‘4’ will sell in its first week of release.

Hits Daily Double have predicted that ‘4’ will shift somewhere between the 275,000 to 300,000 unit mark.
Likely to achieve her lowest first week sales figure to date, ‘4’ has received a heavy promotional push in Europe in the last week.
Whilst this figure may not be what fans of the mega-star were hoping for, it is worth noting that the ‘Run The World (Girls)‘ singer has always gone onto exceed sales expectations in the long term and ‘4’ has already become one of her most critically acclaimed releases. Heralded by many as her best work.
In the UK, the album is already selling its British competitors 3:1 and is also set to top the chart there also and has already been certified Gold in Poland and triple platinum in Brazil.
Regardless of what the starlet sells this week, she remains the standard that many of her contemporaries fail to live up to.
For even after fifteen years at the top, there isn’t a chart rival she has faced who can match the skills she both possesses and continues to excel at.

Do I think this album will be as commercially successful as ‘I Am’? No, but do I think it’s her best offering along with ‘Dangerously In Love’? Of course! Beyonce proved that she has grown up artistically and that she’s capable of putting out age appropriate music.

I Love Beyonce and I Love this CD However, this project was handled poorly and Run the World should’ve never been released. It’s the worse charting single if her career. Hopefully she learns from this experience.
And I see the haters are STILL exhausting their arms from all that REACHING they’re doing… SMH. Guys, just accept that you’re turning out to be dead wrong about this album flopping miserably and move the f*** on with your lives. Seriously, it makes no sense to be devoting all your energy into someone you hate who doesn’t even know you exist, is clearly unaffected by your opinion of them, and whose fans aren’t going to suddenly turn on them just because you keep ranting about how much their fave is a talentless flop and such. It’s a giant waste of time, so I personally suggest that you go preoccupy yourselves with something much more productive.
And as for my opinion on this, I’m a fan and I love the album so I obviously want it to do well and am I happy that so far it’s succeeding in that, but honestly things like sales and chart positions don’t concern me. They don’t determine if something is good or bad, only whether it’s popular or not. And we all know that popularity =/= talent or quality. So really, I’m not bothers if this album underwhelms in sales. I only care about getting a great album, and I’ve got that. And it’s not as though Beyoncé’s career or bank account could be jeopardized by this album not selling well. I don’t think she cares that much, either.

Sweetie, get over yourself. She has no hit singles. Beyonce did the same amount of performances prior to album release as Brit Brat. Britney did two, live nationally televised performances for FF. One on GMA on a Monday and one on Jimmy Kimmel the day the album dropped.

I’m not here for numbers but, you say Beyonce needs hit singles to sell an album just like every other mainstream POP artist, yet she’s still projected to outsell them the first week with NO hit single. Many POP artists scored MULTIPLE number ones prior to their album release and sold just as much or less than Beyonce’s prediction.

Britney had considerably less print media promo than Beyonce. Britney put out two singles, one went to #1, the other top 10. With any luck, 4 will turn into a word of mouth album like Adele’s because I hear it’s good (I haven’t heard 4 yet), but even Adele has a hit single. If Beyonce has a CB F.A.M.E. type sales drop in the second week, then it’s time to get concerned.
I honestly think that the reason why Bey didn’t do more live performances prior to 4’s release in the States was because she thought the US would have her back, since she’s always sold the bulk of her albums here. If so, then I don’t know how that stretegy is paying off. How many albums did she sell in France, this week?

I think people has to realize that people are not buying CDS any more when they can get it free. Only the die hard fans like myself will buy a CD. No artist is selling like years ago. This is the year of the digital, and internet where people can get your CD’s free. All the positive feed back about adele album being real good is why they are buying are album. Lady Gaga has over 10 millions followers and look what she sold. I think Beyonce is more talented than any female artist, but her material isn’t as good. I will bring up Race, there haven’t been any black artist to sell 1 million cd’s in a week over the past two years. This is the recession and people isn’t spending their money on CD’s unless they can get at least 4 hit singles on the CD’S and yes Beyonce did cross over to mainstream but, she is still black and she has no hits people are not going to buy her CD’s. I will support her and buy her CD but I am not really feeling her songs.

I here you. I guess I feel that way because this is my least favorite album. I spin this one, but not nearly as much as D. In Love. I feel the same way about Loud and Rated R. I barely skipped a track on Rated R, but Loud is another story. I guess it just a matter of taste.

Just what I expected! It´s not a flop in the current sales climate but it´s definitely not great. i mean it´s obvious no matter what Sam or her stans say Gaga is the biggest superstar since 2009.
And to people saying “still at the top after 15 years”. Well she takes her time to release albums. It´s only her 4th. If she would have been releasing album per year or two like Mariah, Madonna or Gaga (she probably will follow that route) she would have completely bored the public by now. Only a few can survive to overexposure. Her being still at her peak and not releasing anything since 2008 one could expect more sales. Do I need to remind you the 4th albums sales from Mariah, Madonna, Whitney and even probably Gaga?? (cos she is already at her 3th and she f****** sold 1 million, so I expect big sales for her 4th too)
That being said, it´s really important how much staying power the album has on the charts. It could be a big seller or just be another untalented Britney´s Femme Fatale. Similar first week sales and then stop selling at 500,000. We´ll see.

I think it had to grow on some people, but I’d say that it appears that most people that support Bey are really pleased with the album as a whole. The numbers make me suspicious. It’s not awful to sell in that range, I just don’t believe it. If I truly am wrong – that fine. I just think the media uses different tactics to hype up artist and to tear them down. Yet more arguing and sillyness on here. 4 IS NOT A FLOP. It’s predicted to debut at #1 in over 10 countries so I fail to see how the album is a flop. Who cares about singles chart position album positions are WAY more important and respected by the album industry. It’s remarkable 4 has done this well without no top ten hit singles and it’s going to sell better than Femme Fatale and Teenage Dream who respectfully had #1 hits before their album came out their album STILL didn’t open with great sales.
Also 4 is NOT a pop album that her so called peers are making. She’s making good old fashioned R’n’b which doesn’t do well nowadays and the fact Beyonce is doing this is refreshing. So 300,000 copies is a great for an album like that. It’s not fair to compare 4 with Sasha Fierce, B-Day and Dangerously In Love because the previous pop/crossover albums which would appeal more audiences.
4 is the best album of the year.

This is getting annoying. The fact of the matter is, Beyonce has already established herself as an artist, as an icon. She’s already been at the top of the charts numerous times. At this point, it’s exactly what netgear said, who cares if it’s radio friendly. When you’re an artist, you shouldn’t have to make music that appeals to anyone but yourself and your fans come next. Sadly in today’s society it’s all about MONEY and making “hit” songs which are in all honesty, crappy songs. This album is her best album lyrically and vocally and anyone who knows music will understand that. Is it commercial? Hell no. But is it a damn good album? Yes.
Next time when you guys decide to post about ANY artist’s record sales, and try and be negative, take that into consideration first. I love this website, but you people sound like idiots half the time.

Maybe Beyonce should go back to her dad managing her career, because he never would have let low numbers like that come in for her opening week.

If it ends up being 300,000 like the early prediction is saying, then that’s still not bad. It’s not great but it’s NOT A FLOP. Especially with the album being leaked 3 weeks before release and no top tens yet. I think the hits are coming so the album may be a late bloomer.

DIL had the lowest first week of all her albums yet went on to be her highest selling album thus far. Her fans would be disappointed if she released a crappy album but instead she released high quality material that we can’t help but be proud of. Five years from now we won’t be thinking about the first week’s sales of ‘4’ but we’ll still appreciate the music that ‘4 ‘ gave us. This album will stand the test of time. An artist that I compare Beyonce to chart wise is Alicia Keys they both have expeienced decline in sales due to underwhelming music, however even with two flop singles Alicia Keys’ The Element of Freedom still debuted with 417,000 copies. Someone from another site asked who is really the Queen/King? As Alicias music has never been the most commercial yet her albums always sell more than Beyonce’s….
And for those comparing this to Dangerously in Love please remember that that album was her debut as a solo artist and she was NOT the name that she is now so more is expected, that album also had 4-5 singles that were hits on it that gave it longevity and ‘4’ seems to be having none unless she has a re-release with some acutal hits on it.

I think people need to just chill on trying to “predict” what her sales will be. People were already giving out false information about how much she sold in Brazil. She only sold 120,000 copies. It was not 3million copies like everyone kept saying. Their platinum is different than how we do it here in the U.S. For a domestic artist in Brazil (which is someone who’s a resident), platinum is considered 80,000 copies. For an international artist (which is someone who doesn’t live in Brazil), platinum is 40,000 copies. So, if Bey sold 3X platinum is Brazil, she only came out selling 120,000 copies. Everybody’s going back and forth arguing about sales, figures, chart numbers, etc. It’s like a damn war is going on, and it’s not even serious like that! In fact, Billboard’s chart executives are excluding Gaga’s Best Buy giveaway
numbers from the Billboard 200, as both the data service and publication have a
longstanding policy of not counting albums that are given away by retailers to
consumers at no cost — either as a stand-alone promotion or as part of a bundle
with another item — for charting purposes. But sales resulting from the Amazon
99-cents promotion will be factored into the Billboard 200, as those sales
indicate consumer intent. (Currently no price minimums for charting inclusion have
been established by Billboard for the sale of stand-alone albums, as a pricing
policy is difficult to police with only sales volume — and not consumer cost —
being tracked by SoundScan’s data collection system.)
Even before these promotions, sales projections for “Born This Way” have been a
rollercoaster – those projections even changed this week, climbing by a couple
hundred thousand units between Monday and Tuesday in the wake of the
Amazon deal. In March, before any songs from the album apart from its title track
had been released, anticipation was building among industry distribution, sales
and retail executives that the album could be the first since Taylor Swift’s “Speak
Now” to reach the million-unit-debut-week milestone. (Swift accomplished that
feat in the week ending Oct. 31, 2010; the last album to do so prior to that was Lil
Wayne’s “Tha Carter III,” which sold just over 1 million units in the week ending
June 15, 2008. At press time, the former had sold a total of 3.4 million units,

Retailers and label sales and distribution executives were pointing to the then-
new Target “Born This Way” sales promotion as the catalyst for their million-unit
expectations. At that time, sources said Target was going to feature the album in
a $10 million television campaign, which would have been its biggest to date. In
contrast, Target’s Taylor Swift “Speak Now” promotion was projected at about
$7 million.
But Gaga and Target soon dissolved their deal, reportedly due to differences over
the company’s support for political candidates opposed to gay rights; the initial
million-unit first-week sales projections dissolved as well.
But regardless of the Target promotion, Universal Music Group executives had
been more cautious in their sales projection for “Born This Way,” because female
pop singers rarely have first-week album sales on that scale, although they do
enjoy big first-week track download sales. That’s what happened with Katy Perry’s
“Teenage Dream” LP, which was expected to rake in 500,000-700,000 first-week
sales but instead debuted with 192,000. Since then, the album has scanned a
solid 1.5 million units, but the tracks on it have scanned 9.55 million units.

singles, “Born This Way” and “Judas,” musically disappointing. But the title track,
which was the third-largest track download debut in its first week of availability,
is already is at nearly 2.6 million downloads — how that could be considered
disappointing is a mystery.
The results of the Amazon promotion will be a key influencer in how “Born This
Way” performs in its debut week. Up until now, Amazon has never produced a
100,000-sales week for an album, but some expect that to happen this week for
“Born This Way,” despite the download issues. The promotion played a big role in
the upward trend of sales projections this week.
“Amazon offers great deals on some of the bestselling albums every day and we
constantly look at ways to delight our customers,” an Amazon rep told
Billboard.biz on Tuesday. “Since its launch, ‘Born This Way’ has held the top spot
on our bestselling albums list. We knew that customers would love this album
and we were thrilled to make it the Deal of the Day yesterday.”
Yet beyond all the promotions and precedents and some merchants and
competing label-sales executives feel Lady Gaga is overexposed and may suffer a
sales backlash. Yet she’s the rare artist who is equally talented as a musician
and as a media magnet, and that brings her a level of credibility and support not
often seen for today’s megastars.
As one major label sales executive told Billboard earlier this year, “[When Lady
Gaga first burst onto the scene], I wasn’t dismissive, I just wasn’t interested. I
thought she was just another pop star. I didn’t know she was a serious artist. If
you listen to her in interviews, she is very articulate. People see her in a different
light. She is being seen as an artist who has paid her dues.
“People are rooting for her.”

Ashanti has 2 #1 albums, not 1. Her first album broke records for biggest female debut album and remained there till recently. And Chapter 2 actually booted Dangerously in Love out of #1 to #2 for about two or three weeks. Sorry, I had to correct that being that Beyonce fans aka stans are still mad about that and that’s why they hate Ashanti so much. lol Beyonce is so overrated just to let ya’ll know. Everything she’s doing has already been done before. Jay Z gave her streey credability and he is also a very powerful person in music.
