Recent years have seen Christina Aguilera‘s career take some unfortunate twists and turns.
However, all of her more recent trials and tribulations have paled in comparison to the success of hit show ‘The Voice’ in which the starlet is a judge on and it seems she feels the same way too.
For following the program’s critical and ratings success, the ‘Candy Man‘ singer has now signed onto star in its second season.

Reported to earn an astounding $225,000 an episode, Aguilera recently admitted that she was initially tentative about joining a televised singing contest but was drawn to ‘The Voice’ after learning of its unique format.
With an upcoming album expected from the ‘Genie In A Bottle‘ entertainer in coming months, its release will no doubt coincide with the premiere of the ‘The Voice’s second season in order to help the LP’s promotional push.
With the commercial trainwreck that was ‘Bionic’ now behind her, here’s to hoping that season 2 of the smash hit show and the release of a new album will reposition her as being one of Pop music’s greatest voices.
For very much like the show she stars in, raw talent will always remain at the core of what makes Ms. Aguilera so very appealing.

I think this is a good idea! The Voice doesn’t take up that much time really and it will be a great platform for her to showcase her new music! Bionic is criminally under rated! I can’t wait for this new album!
@AISHA AGUILERA KEYS She usually takes a year to RECORD the album and 2 years to get inspiration. But now, she’s started working on a new album since July 2010 so that means that she’s currently putting the finishing touches. WE WILL GET AN ALBUM SOON. DON’T WORRY

@CHIBIKUMA Bionic is indeed heavily underrated, but it was just the wrong time and the wrong attittude.(I’m still listening to that album, ESPECIALLY when I work out. *woohoo*)

@ASAP, the thing about Bionic is it had so much working against it.
An overcrowded market place filled with younger girls who all had hits under their belts. Honestly, no one was really missing Christina at that point.
Those Gaga comparisons and that horrible first single/video. Not to mention the ill conceived second single. It was like a perfect storm of s*** coming down on her and that album.
BIONIC is an awesome unique record, absolutely NOT worse than any other previous albums of her, i adora all of her lbums, each of them has another kind of twist and spirit. Amazing woman.

I don’t think so that she is doing the final touches on any album, she just maybe recorded some songs in July 2010 but since then there were so many things with her – divorce, Burlesque promotion, struggles, re-defining herself and re-position herself in the industry, and in a recent interview she told that she was inspired by everybody during the shots of The Voice, so I think she is getting inspirations now and she’ll go back to the studio from now on… I think we’ll get an album in summer/fall of 2012 :-)))
@FLOP JUICE I think I saw a list of producers that have ALREADY worked with her.It included Linda Perry, Alex Da Kid, Tricky Stewart, Sia and DJ Premier. And in all her interviews she says she’s been working on a new album.I think she hasn’t really stopped working since July.I’m confident we might get a single this year TBH

Although I hoped that Xtina would use this opportunity to rehab her image but towards the end, she was coming across real “stank” to me. I am a more casual fan who has been turned off by her personality so it’s disappointing to me that she will be back.
