New Music: Mary J. Blige – ‘Hero’

After the surfacing of an “unofficial” version of rumored first single ‘Feel Inside’ featuring Nicki Minaj, a new track from the Hip-Hop/Soul Queen has made it’s way to the internet. ‘Hero’ finds Mary J. Blige musing on self-empowerment over a bass heavy take on the piano ballad.

Check it out below…

No word if this will appear on Mary’s forthcoming My Life II: The Journey Continues release on September 20. Hopefully so, because ‘Hero’ is one of the better tracks to surface related to the seemingly stale sequel to her classic My Life LP

It’s a nice track as an album filler. Mary J. Blige is still one of the greatest R&B divas. I’d like to feel that she can do no wrong…

It is so unbelieveble how much she looks like beyonce in this pic.

  6. NATE June 24, 2011

This is what happens when you lost all struggle, and you have nothing to write about.. Everything that I hear from Mary J sounds so typical and stale.. She’s married, why still talk about the same relationship s***?

My Life, Share My World, and Mary were great albums because she wasn’t trying to have a “sound”, she just had s*** on her mind.

She also needs better producers. Stop working with those played ATL RNB producers.

    Hell to the NAW……

Mary Please don’t do this, I beg of you! Horrific ……

  9. Joel June 24, 2011

She’s whack! Stop making music. Lately, all she can do is sing as the grandmother of R & B. I don’t know how she can connect with everyone in 2011.

NATE said it best, “She also needs better producers. Stop working with those played ATL R&B producers.” That goes for Beyonce and all these other R&B chicks too.

    The-Dream is LATE!!!

P.S. BEAS – get a better pair of eye-glasses…MJB looks NOTHING like Bee-yawn-say in that pic. In fact, name one female pop or R&B diva Bee-YAWN-say hasn’t swagger-jacked in the looks department. **crickets**

  11. The G-List Society June 24, 2011

I bet Joel likes Britney Spears – stop hating on MJB and sit your no-talent ass down at Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Kesha concerts with their non-talent asses

It’s not her best but the lyrics are moving, her vocals are kinda weak if am real honest.

  21. ooiiio June 24, 2011

Go f*** yourselves with y’alls Beyonce’s Mary looks like Mary ..

  22. The Man June 24, 2011

It’s kinda good. But it does seem as though she’s running into a creative black, because while a few of her latest tracks released are decent/good, they do seem sorta dated and or stale.
