Aubrey O’Day‘s Oxygen reality show ‘All About Aubrey’ saw the former Danity Kane star remind her audience of why they gravitated towards her. Now, as she works on her Universal Music (SRC) debut, ‘Hitchhiker’ -a track which served a staple on the show – has surfaced in full. It is unknown if the Adonis helmed cut will feature on her as yet untitled LP (due later this year).

Yours truly was not an ardent of the song in its snippet form, and the full version did little to change that.
Still in terms of genre and composition, the track most certainly is the type of music the 27 year old should be making if success is the name of the game. As such, her album remains one of That Grape Juice’s most anticipated.

What does it mean to “dance like a Black girl”? Why can’t Aubrey just be a performer who can sing and dance? Why even mention race? Comments like that (the one Diddy made) take away from Aubrey’s natural ability and I don’t think that’s fair to her. P.S.: there are plenty of Black girls who can ONLY two step, and not even well.
On to the music – The song is ok. I think it may need a bit more production wise in order to make a real impact. She needs a buzz track that will make her stand out and have people say: “who the f%^k is this girl?”
In terns of her visual – Aubrey seems to be a great performer and although her personal style is hit or miss for me, her on stage style was on point during her reality show on Oxygen. She might want to clean it up a bit when she is out and about or on red carpets though. The lashes, bags of weave and the orange “glow” it’s a bit much.
