Just days after the premiere of Nicola Roberts‘ ‘Beat Of My Drum‘, another cut from her ‘Cinderella’s Eyes‘ album has surfaced in the form of ‘Porcelain Heart’.
The song is now available to fans of the starlet who pre-order the LP on UK iTunes.
In the meanwhile, take a listen to the track below…
Breathtaking. That is the only word to describe the Electro Pop fantasy that is this track. Any doubt that may have surrounded Ms.Roberts’ vocal chops will be laid to rest, as she glides effortlessly over this mid tempo backing track. Perhaps the best way to sum it up would be to describe it as Britney Spears‘ ‘Unusual You’ on crystal meth.
One wonders if Nicola has always had this level of vocal ability and just didn’t know it, or was intentionally cast aside to make room for a certain former group member whose vocals are as flat as a bulimic pancake.
Either way, this Pop forward effort will be sure to remind many a Girls Aloud fan of the Brit Pop riot that was ‘What Will The Neighbours Say‘.
If ‘Heart’ is indicative of the rest of ‘Cinderella’s Eyes’, Nicola Roberts may just be UK’s go to star for Pop magic.
Great track. Hands down the best solo material from a Girls Aloud member released to date, and oddly the best vocals considering Nicola was hardly heard on any Girls Aloud tracks. Originality always outshines pre-loaded and contrived pop garbage!
Both her songs are awesome. Very excited for the album. But I disagree – her live performances have always been really strong vocally. But I guess she didn’t get enough lines because she’s not the prettiest (which is a shame). Nicola has always been the second best vocalist in Girls Aloud.
that interview with lady gaga was a hot mess. she was as stiff a deceased corps
this breathtaking but rihanna sound like a dead cat??????
give it up u are a full blown hater because this mess sounds like everything else
I like Nicola and her recent single Beat Of My Drum but I have to agree with 2BAD2BME this song is just like any other pop song. Actually this song reminds me Kylie Minogue’s edgy pop sound. i like her tone but she needs to make it consistent. Like at the end when she hit that note- that’s when she showed her tone more.
i like it, i like her voice alot actually, rarely get to hear it in girls aloud, but its strong, well far stronger than cheryls anyway
HUNNYBOOM..this is a hot mess…idk if yall hear what i hear but she broke my porcelean ears..hunnyBOOMBOOM…S*** like dis wont go down in the U.S. BALLEEDAT.
TERRIBLE
This was what Nadine needed to come out with!
wtf is this…………HORRRRRRIBLE
No both songs not good in fact rubbish. She can’t dance the video sucks she has no star quality. Shame hoping she would have been better.
WHO??
#QueenBeyonce2011
LOOOL, how does this lay doubts about her vocal ability to rest? Her vocals ridiculously average on this par in this song, buts its still enough for the track. Im sure we all know a dozen people who can sing beyond this level but the fact that you slam Rihhana yet praise this vocal…. I can’t loool
Breathtaking my a***, this song is decent at best. It is fairly forgettable and sounds like it could have been a reject from Britney’s Femme Fetale. This site is starting to seriously loose my respect with thses down-right dumb biased reviews
THANK YOU SAM!!!!
Finally, people are starting to ‘GET’ her. Love this song and ‘Beat of my drum’. I’ll be buying the album. Thank you for posting this!
WOOOOOOP WOOOOOP!!!
I never heard of her or her group….
she’s always been this amazing vocalist. If you didn’t know it is because you’re too busy hating on cheryl.
leave this to popjustice.
Her album is for Uk people.. I meen it sounds pop because there they don’t really listen to hip-hop and rap. Techno, electronic and pop sound are popular with the uk public. Just like Kylie Minogue and others.. personnally, I don’t like this one, but I really like beat of my drum!
It’s really good…….Wow, she is gonna be only girl (outoftheband) with a proper solo career,………..whodathunkit
omg, love it >.<
”Breathtaking’ no pleasantly surprised! shes better than i thought tbh!
TERRIBLE the songs are not good
