Teaser: Nicola Roberts – ‘Beat of My Drum’ Video

Published: Wednesday 1st Jun 2011 by Sam

While her Girls Aloud cohort Cheryl Cole reels after being sacked from the X Factor USA, Nicola Roberts gears up for her own assault on the charts.

The unlikely soloist is hoping to make a splash with her debut single ‘Beat of My Drum’. Produced by Diplo (Beyonce’s ‘Run The World’), the cut is the lead release from Roberts’ ‘Cinderella’s Eyes’ LP.

Check out a preview of the track’s video below; the dancing is a must-see. Full clip premieres this Sunday (June 5th).

Putting the painful routine to one side, the song actually sounds solid. Whether it’ll be enough to overshadow her glaring inabilities as a performer will be interesting to see.

Your thoughts?

Yo! Dont come for my girl….Nicola had more talent, style and singing ability than all them other Loud ass Girls in her group. I’m routing for her. Girl started her own cosmetic line whilst them other four were busy trying to find a man to latch onto to make them famous.

    Get IT NIC!!

Why diplo wasted this ong on her is beyond me. I like nicola but she has less charisma and stage presence than the average pentioner

I like the song. The dance moves were hilarious. Good to luck to her she deserves to better than Cheryl as she is talented and Cheryl is not.

Did anyone else notice that she hasnt really got control over her mouth? Like those veneers are making it hard for her to speak.. I love Nicola and I like the song. She looks cute in the vid, but I do agree that she does look just a tad awkward doing those dance moves. A for effort though boo.

The dancing looks like it’s supposed to be tongue in cheek. I don’t think she’s trying to be Beyonce, people!

  21. Lush June 3, 2011

Hey Hey Hey… I think any white girl that puts more effort into their dancing than Britney deserves a bit more credit… its suppose to be fun jeez
