The album which is this week’s #1 on the Billboard 200, is the fourth solo effort from the ‘Best Thing I Never Had‘ singer.

Nielsen SoundScan report that Beyonce’s ‘4’ shifted 310,000 copies in the United States alone this week.
Now her fourth solo #1 in the US, it has already been certified Gold in Poland, triple Platinum in Brazil and is the #1 LP in the UK.
I haven’t liked a single song released from that album, but good for her. Debuting at #1 in the UK is a really big accomplishment.

Coming from an album that leaked a month ago, this is actually good. DIL only did 7,000 more and it’s still her best album as far as sales go. Hopefully, this album will do better than B’day as far as sales go. She has a dedicated fan base and longevity on the charts so I’m sure she will do fine.

Gaga has been promoting BTW since The Grammy’s while Beyonce only has been doing US promo since the actual release of the album. She still doesn’t have a number 1 from the album yet but she did more numbers than the other chicks who had number 1’s at the time. Columbia mentioned that they are gonna be promoting 4 for the next 18 months so this album will sell either way it goes.

You don’t land magazine covers in a weeks notice those issues are planned months in advance among other politics, which is promo. We all knew she had an album coming out b/c her camp/label/insiders leaked it. All i hear are reasons why it didn’t sell & may be its because the body of work is average & disconnected. With the net being so pervasive any promo in the EU is promo here; vice versa. Again, if people wanted it, primarily middle-american, caucasian teens, they would;ve have bought it. Her singles, which are promotional devices as well were duds to the populace that spends the most $$ on music (middle-american, caucasian teens). It is what it is. She tried something that wasn’t the intellectual property of someone else’s and the numbers reflect that.

You know you just don’t like Beyonce & you use her ’stans’ as an excuse as to why you don’t like her & every accomplishemnt she makes, like her having her fourth album debut at No. 1, you try to downplay! The bottom line is people (haters) said she was gonna flop & she DIDN’T!! PERIOD! She came in an No. 1 as she ALWAYS does & sold more than you lames thought she could! She had NO hits from this album it was a completely different sound from her other & has basically no radio friendly singles. Ya’ll know pop is what’s ruling the charts & there is NO pop on this album.
Don’t even compare her to Lady Gimmick cause unlike Lady Gimmick, Bey isn’t walking around in meat dresses & penis shoes for attention! Bey didn’t resort to using Gimmicks to sell, she got this No. 1 album on her music & fanbase alone!

. The “stans” were the ones who started all of this as far as figures, record sales, itune charts. etc is concerned. They were also the ones bragging about how Beyonce was going to sell 500,000-700,000 copies in her first week. So, naturally the so called “haters” are going to point out how 310,000 units is not up to par, because they’ve had it thrown in their faces for so long that Bey was going to “slay” and “snatch wigs” when her album came out. But, the point I’m trying to make is, if she’s supposed to be “all of that”, The Queen B” and the self professed, “King B”, she should have sold at least 1 million copies or more in her first week. She’s #1 in alot of countries. But don’t forget, that platinum in other countries is not the same as it is here for us. So, who really knows the total of her sales worldwide so far? She will get to the millions, no doubt about it. But, it’s going to happen over time. For someone like herself who’s been in the game for 15 years and has a slew of fans and “stans”, she should have sold a million or more in her first week.
I have my good days and my bad days when it comes to Beyonce, but I will give her props. She claimed another #1 and that’s wonderful. I’ll probably be talking trash about her tomorrow, but for today, I say well done B.

@100% REAL, I think people have the right to respond or ignore as they choose. When/if they get tired of responding they’ll stop. Sometimes it’s harder to ignore a comment that you completely disagree with then it is to respond. It’s up to each individual to pick their battles or respond as they see fit and convenient.
