Jennifer Lopez Announces New Single

Published: Sunday 3rd Jul 2011 by Sam

Her ‘LOVE?’ LP may not be getting much of that from record-buyers, however Jennifer Lopez proves you can’t keep a good diva down with the release of the project’s third single.

During an interview with the Home Shopping Network last night, the 41 year old confirmed the follow-up to the LP’s current single’I’m Into You’.

Find out what Lopez will be serving up next after the jump…

‘Papi’

Undeniably one of the strongest offerings on ‘LOVE’, granting it the single treatment is the wisest of decisions. For despite being solid,  ‘I’m Into You’ didn’t set the charts alight, while the album’s entire production budget was likely recouped off the back of ‘On The Floor’s success – a track which is clearly a close cousin of ‘Papi’.

If there’s any justice in the world, this has to be a hit. Ms. Lopez, of course, needs to learn from the mistakes made with the project’s prior releases; and actually promote intensely (she needs to be everywhere i.e. at the opening of a door).

Mrs. Lopez seems to be making good effort to promote this latest project. The numbers just don’t seem to reflect this push however.

    GO J.LO

3 films in 2012 (Ice Age: Continental Drift, What To Expect When Expecting, & Parker). Congrats Jen! Haven’t seen 3 movies of yours in one years since 1997.

    SHE WILL ROCK IN 2012.

I think Hyptnotico should have been her next single. She needs a better team behind her move back into the spot light has been shaky.

    @JLOVER

Yeah Hypnotico is a strong possible single choice but the Tami Chynn version has been out since 2007 I believe. Red One didn’t even revamp the production. Papi, although making an appearance in her I’m Into you is an even stronger single.

I do agree that TGJ’s article quality has falen off.

Hmmmm… okay. Very good song, but it was part of ‘I’m Into You’ so…

  11. Robbie July 3, 2011

    WHAT ABOUT GOOD HIT?!

She already did a video for this song?

Hopefully she goes on a WORLD TOUR very soon 🙂

  12. MusicFan July 3, 2011

Good choice. But Invading My Mind or Hypnotico are wiser choices.

People keep saying in posts about JLo that “Papi” was included as a part of the “I’m Into You” music video. So what, it was only TEASED! That used to be the thing of the past, including a snippet of your possible next single in the music video to your current single! Duh!

I think it is a smart idea. Might even be smart to heavily promote “Papi” to CHR/Top 40s radio and still keep “I’m Into You” on the back burner, in hopes that Rhythmic Radio will pick up, and if not, just hope that “Papi” crosses over. I LOVE the song, so catchy.

She did mention that there was the possibility of a fourth single being filmed now too, I still hope that, that single is “Hypnotico,” because even if Tammi Chynn (Who??) had it, it was NEVER promoted, and NEVER released. Heard her version and Jen brings SO much more swag to it. Happy about JLo’s return, I love a good comeback from an artist/performer who made such a strong impression during my past! C’mon “Papi” rack of them radio spins, downloads, album sales, YouTube plays, requests, club/DJ spins, etc -I’m ready!

  14. number1k9 July 3, 2011

    BTW my single line up:

    1- “On The Floor”
    2- “I’m Into You”

3- “Papi” [possible remix with someone to build hype: Sean Paul, ??]
    4- “Hypnotico”
5- “Invading My Mind” [possible collabo with Lady Gaga to make it “new music,” IDK ?]

    6- “Take Care”

[“Good Hit” should only be for promo, song would get SO much flack for auto tune, and wouldn’t be a strong Pop hit, c’mon The-Dream wrote it, and we all know he is hit or miss!]

  15. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 3, 2011

Hmm…It’s going to do well, but it’s not going to be a smash IMO, because it’s already been released as a promo single AND there was a sample of it in the I’m Into You video.
Anyway, I can’t wait to watch the video.I hope it’s going to be fantastic. She always delivers great videos, but I want this to be more than great. I’m wondering what she’s going to use for her breakdown…

  16. Jasmine July 3, 2011

    J. Lo is has not been promoting the album enough in my opinion. She should be doing a big tv promotional push and radio push. Yet, she is not. She should also take notes from Beyonce about how to push your album in consumers faces. The material on J. Lo’s album was great. The producers gave her some very hot material. The only reason why I did not buy it was that she is not a singer. If those tracks were given so somebody else Also, there was a video for “Good Hit” that was not released (2 minute clip on youtube). I think they should release that video as well.

  17. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 3, 2011

Everytime I’m listening to the intro of Papi, I think of an epic video. I would really LOVE it if her label gave her an adequate budget and an amazing director to make it happen. J Lo has so many amazing videos, but I would really like this one to be more than the club scene and the close-ups that On The Floor was (even if I love this vid)

  18. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 3, 2011

By the way, I think that people mistake I’m Into You for a flop because the video was released a long ago. But let’s not forget that in the U.S.A. it was serviced to radio 3 weeks ago and is currently picking up adds and rising in the radio charts (Pop, Rhythmic mostly)
Internationally, it did quite well and now in the next 4 weeks we’ll see how it will perform in the USA. It’s obviously not going to be a smash, but it hasn’t bombed

My Single Line Up would of been

    6. Hypnotico
    +

    Jasmine
JNO hasn’t been pushing this album enough? Um… honey, where have you been? Not only did she USE American Idol for her so called come back, she’s been on Ellen numerous amount of times, performing on A.I. twice, performed on American’s Next Top Model Germany, on radio stations, called in radio stations…. and so much more. JNO has promoted the hell out of this s***** album, it’s just that nobody cared!

This song is horrid and won’t do well overly. It’s probably going to do well in a few countries overseas and that’s it. It flopped hard as hell when she released it as a “promo” single with “I’m Into You” in the States. I’m glad that she flopped and she needs to shut up already. Your 41 years old trying to act like your still in your 20’s singing bubblegum, generic electronic s***. JNO can’t sing at all and this track is embarrassing for her voice. She sounds like a 5 year old singing.

This album is NOT a flop. It’s selling decently in the USA and it’s selling great internationally.

  25. D.Strock July 4, 2011

Would’ve loved to see either Hypnotico or Good Hit. I can still dig it though

  26. nice_gurl July 4, 2011

It will definitely be a chart hit, but I really dislike it. Dance music is too relevant nowadays for mostly ballads being in the top 10.

  27. cesar July 5, 2011

I am into you is a hit.. is getting so much play internationally and I could speack for LOs Angeles and NOrthern Californina and is getting lots of Airplay. Is like everytime i listen to the radio I am into you is playing.. beside i really like this song is has a catchy summer beat..loves it…. I want to see technology and lots of fashion forward in her next papi video.. Go jlo.

  28. hhhhot July 6, 2011
