The ballerina is set to perform at the 2026 Academy Awards, where she will dance during a performance of ‘I Lied to You’ from ‘Sinners’.

The news arrived shortly after Copeland responded to comments from Timothée Chalamet, sparking controversy online, in which the actor suggested that opera and ballet were art forms that “No one cared about.”

Copeland pushed back on that idea, emphasizing the influence these classical art forms have had on the entertainment industry.

She spilled:

“He wouldn’t be an actor and have the opportunities he has as a movie star if it weren’t for opera and ballet,”

With this upcoming Oscars performance, Copeland appears to be proving that ballet continues to have a place on some of the world’s biggest stages, showing that the art form is still very much alive and relevant.
