The album would have been a major flop that would have gone by unnoticed had it been released by anyone else anyway.

I have nothing against Rihanna, but her fans are annoying when they try to come at Beyoncé while she’s starting to simmer down her material. This is not a “Let’s see how many hits and albums I can sell” album, it’s more personal and doesn’t ride the electropop wave that all current trending artists are riding. It’s like 21 in album content. If the public catches and likes it like they did for Adele, than great. If they don’t, than ok.
My point in all this is: eat this album for what it is, not what it’s SUPPOSED to taste like.

Honestly this album is great and I listen to it everyday. Just because it doesn’t perform better than another album doesn’t mean it is bad album. We have great albums that come out everyday that goes unnoticed. I respect Beyonce musically, not based on her numbers and how well her singles do. I prefer alot of her songs that aren’t singles more then the singles. When I see her perform and notice how she keeps her vocals the priority in her performances unlike many other “pop” artist I respect her musically. She might not play a musical instrument or be artistically abstract and out there, but she respects the art of performing and understands her voice is an instrument and continues to craft it. I remember her song “radio”, it was a pop song, but if you listen to it closely she is doing alot of different vocal riffs, transitions, and technique that many “pop” artist can’t do and people don’t realize that. It’s sad that everybody according to these blogs have to like it before it is considered “good” music. In my opinion “Kind of Blue” by Miles Davis, is one of the best album ever recorded. But if it was to come out today, this album would be lucky to reach 50,000 albums sold honestly. This does not mean the album sucks, and I wish people would realize music is objective and just because it is not bringing in earth shattering numbers does not mean the album suck. Nobody who knows music should ever discredit her technique or her talent. You might not like her songs, but technique, dynamics, musicality, pitch, intonation, articulation, breath support, phrasing, are all musical terms she excel at and that’s what you judge a SINGER/Musician on not the numbers they bring in!

Congrats B, wow ppl kill me with all this bs they’re talking. What you need to realize is that Worldwide recognition > US recognition, especially in a time when the US is obsessed with this europop dance music that’s all over the top 40 radio and not to mention in an economic crises. Second. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We will be dealing with this 4 album for a while, she’s already got promo scheduled for around Christmas time. So when it’s all said and done and it’s about this time next year and she’s won her grammy’s for this album and added to her 16 and is about to go on an even bigger tour, she will have sold plenty of albums and this whole conversation will be null and void.
As for comparing her to anyone out now besides maybe Britney bcuz she came out around the same time Beyonce did, is ridiculous. Beyonce as a musician and artist has already done many things these other artist may never do regardless of the success they may be having right now. She’s already done it. She doesn’t need to keep being #1 for 13 weeks at this point she just needs to keep providing great music that changes the R&B game and keep doing outstanding performances which she is doing, all the rest (numbers and charts) is just icing on the cake. @I love rihanna…i’m not sure if you are aware of how vocalist are rated. It’s not about how big your voice is or how loud you are that varies from singer to singer based on larynx and vocal chord construction and other biological construction factors or I guess people call nodules. It is about the technique you use. Are you aware of modes and different scales such a dorian scale. These scales are apart of music theory and Beyonce knows them and can sing them and prob all her 12 major and minor scales. Those are the elements that make a great vocally trained vocalist. At the end of the day Beyonce is not someone who just wants to sing, she actually studies it! I’m not saying Rihanna is a bad artist, but please don’t down play Beyonce vocal wise because she has worked hard vocally.
@Tye i’m also not sure if you know the difference between a scream and note. When someone yells it means they don’t have vocal control. When Beyonce “scream”, she still has vibrato meaning she has control on the sound meaning it’s not a “scream”. You also have to take in account how connected her belted notes are to determine if they are yells or not. If she gradually ascends note wise to the higher note, no that’s not a scream.
In which country is it platinum? Theres no such thing as a world wide certification except diamond. Each country has a different standered for platinum status.

Making a statement based off of one’s own opinion, does not constitute as “complaining”. I was just saying that if she’s supposed to be the, “be all, end all” of everything, the work that’s being put out on her part should be able to back up that claim of her being, “King B”. As I’ve said, since people want to refer to her as “perfect” and “flawless” , don’t be surprised when folks are looking to see if she’s going to live up to all of the hype and expectations put on her.
Then if she’s not doing as well as expected and it’s brought to some people’s attention, then they want to get defensive and angry. If people stop hyping her up so much and just let the woman do what she does, then everything would be cool. But, if people are going to put her out there like that as if she’s better than the next person and that she can’t do any wrong, don’t be surprised it people are going to hold her to that to see if she lives up to it.

As far as I’m concerned when an album is leaked technically it’s out. Maybe not “officially” but it’s out. And really what the comment was saying is that for it to now be August and for someone of Beyonce’s caliber you would think that it wouldn’t have taken this long for a Platinum certification. So obviously people aren’t connecting to her music as they usually would for the album to be taking this long to sell.
