Jessie J jams in her latest release ‘Domino’, flossing (what seems to be) her inner Katy Perry. And, while the song is quite reminiscent of something her former tourmate would cook-up in the studio, the up-tempo number sees a somewhat restrained Jessie – arguably, the most positive feature of the song. Fun, upbeat, and just in time for summer, the song is rumored to be the first offering from the singer’s upcoming re-release of ‘Who You Are’.

Its like Last Friday Night 2.0. In The Bridge you can actually hear the T G I F, T G I F chant. It sounds like a hit BUT This song will be known as “the song that sounds like Last Friday Night”. That’s not necessarily a good thing because that means that Jessie has yet to find her sound….

@KING B That’s exactly my opinion about Jessie.After ‘Do It Like A Dude’, I thought that she was going to bring it and I purchased her album only to listen to overexaggerated vocal performances over unoriginal beats and attrocious lyrics (especially that ‘Rainbow’ song and ‘Stand Up’.CRINGE!!)

I have to agree with everyone here. It’s not a bad song because I know we’ve all heard BAD SONGS but it’s definitely along the lines of a “Last Friday Night TGIF”-ish sound.
Sounds very Katy Perry-ISH. But it’s all good cause Jessie J is killing these vocals. Even Katy Couldn’t assassinate this song so good. If the sound on the radio is any indication. This should smash. I could forgive her for a generic tune for the sake of her rising her status.
Sounds a lot like Katy Perry, but I like this better. Radio should not play these two songs right after each other.

Lets be clear…Jessie can actually sing and Katy Perry couldn’t hit those notes to save her life. This is different from what she’s done in the past but every artist is entitled to changing things up and trying new things…that’s how creativity works. And for the record it doesn’t sound like Last Friday Night at all.

LOVE this song…..a huge fan of JJ and at first it was hard for me to deal with the fact it sounded a lot like KP….however….after hearing it a gazillion times it’s grown on me….It may not be her best song, but radio isn’t full of best songs….and JJ needs the exposure in the states. So Right ON!

It’s okay. At first the song reminds me of P!nk’s newest works but then the chorus is more like Katy perry’s style. Either way it’s too North American sounding for me. I liked Jessie’s songs on her Who You Are album because they were a breath of fresh air. As a US citizen I hear songs like this everywhere. It’s a shame to hear Jessie giving up her cool British R&B sound for this kind of stuff. Trust me this style gets so broing when it’s all you hear….

2. This song has the same producer as TGIF. I’m not surprised they’re similar.
