Undeniably one of this year’s most anticipated live concert showings, Chris Brown‘s ‘F.A.M.E. Tour‘ was welcomed with nothing but love last night in the Canadian city of Toronto.
Joined by touring partner and X Factor UK judge Kelly Rowland, Brown wowed and enticed his fans with renditions of some of his well loved music, which included his hits ‘Beautiful People‘ and ‘Run It’.

So many people have tweeted that Kelly DID THE DAMN THING!!! People are saying that she “murdered the stage” and that she’s “an amazing performer” and that she “can daaannccee”. People are so excited and that gets me excited. Now I’m thinking about buying tickets for the Baltimore show (even though I’m not a Chris Brown supporter; don’t own a single album). One concert goer even said in reference to Kelly’s performance, “If the concert were to end now, I could go home happy”. I have yet to read a bad fan review. I hope that somebody will post some concert footage because I want to see what’s got everybody screaming Kelly’s name right about now. I’m so happy for her.

That’s great. Good for kelly but I still don’t understand how an artist in the business for so long and is an opening act. Why can’t she at least schedule small venues for herself and then grow, so many artist start from small venues. Disappointed but her team knows best I guess.

I can’t wait until this weekend to see if show in DC. I had to go to another state just to attend his concert. Toronto Suns gave Chris excellent reviews, said he is the total package, what showmanship he has as an entertainer. too excited.

Kelly is on tour because Motivation sold more than one million units which is PLATINUM status, she had THE BEST BET Awards show performance, and let’s not forget how many remixes of Motivation floated around the web. Did you all forget that Commander was number one on the dance charts in the U.S.? Did you all forget that When Love Takes Over was a huge international hit, which won a grammy, and was nominated for World Song of The Year at the World Music Awards? BK, the reason I said what I had said, regarding Kelly Rowland, is that I don’t understand how (or why) she’s getting paid – or is even involved with the tour.
..Let me preface by saying – I DON’T work in “the industry”, nor do I have acquaintances nor friends in “the industry”; THIS much I DO know: Artists, on the whole, aren’t paid from the sales of CDs. The profits from “CD sales” goes BACK to the Label. The Label initially invests the funds to produce the CDs AND the videos. The artists gets “paid” from endorsements AND/OR touring.
..That said, if an artist isn’t “moving” CDs, then “safe to say” she’s NOT going to sell concert tickets! A concert ticket costs, roughly, 3-5X more than a CD. So, if you can’t afford $8, then you sure as hell won’t/can’t afford 24-$40 (or higher).
Chris ‘has/IS’ selling CDs. Compared to Kelly Rowland, so has/is Big Sean and Tyga! So, isn’t it now safe to say that she’s reaching into everyone’s else plate to now eat?
I just DON’T get it: she’s NOT a draw/sell CDs – why NOW have her on the tour?

At Kimberly and XYZ, you all just don’t get it. Lol She’s guest appearing on this concert, because she’s also a judge on the X Factor UK. That’s the reason why she isn’t on every tour date. She’s doing what she has to do to stay relevant, and making money. The avenues that she is taking are quite impressive if you ask me. Think about it, she is just now starting to broaden her audience in the states. Everything that they are doing is strategically planned to work for her. It wouldn’t be in her best interest to tour by herself yet.

@xyz lol I haven’t taken the time to read your whole post…maybe later, but I must say we all know that CD sales aren’t the primary driving factor of what brings in revenue in 2010…well those of us who work in the music industry. This era is driven primarily by singles in the amazon m**/iTunes world. Now with that being added, it would be great to sell millions of albums and I believe that Here I Am is definitely worth of selling more than 150k, and I think that there is more to come. Obviously Kelly is generating revenue, because if she wasn’t everybody and their grandma a would know that a label wouldn’t be investing money in her the way that they are…hence her getting dropped from Colombia records. Now these words came from her own mouth so I’m just saying…

Who’s management/creative direction/ and label was she under when those first two albums of hers didn’t do so well? I think that’s all I need to say. Just because everything didn’t work out ideally the first two times doesn’t mean that she shouldn’t get another chance. Apparently the record executives feel the same way, because they know that she can make hit records, they know that she is likeable, they know that she has a following.

In this way, even IF she a “singles artist”, they (Label) has ‘revenue streams’ to tap into to return the invested sums (which brought the CD to market); if not a profit.
