Currently residing at the #1 spot on the Billboard 200, Lil Wayne‘s ‘The Carter IV‘ put a smile on many a music enthusiasts face when it debuted with first week sales of 964,000 units.
Now, the album has gone onto become this week’s highest selling album across the globe, with sales of 1.03 million copies.

Achieving this feat without the aid of a #1 single, the release stopped Adele‘s ‘21‘ from being this week’s worldwide #1.
Sat at #3 with 314,000 units moved in the last seven days, ‘21′ has now sold a total of 9.58 million copies in the space of 32 weeks and is expected to hit the 10 million sold mark by the end of the coming month.
At #6 is ‘ Watch The Throne’ by Jay Z and Kanye West with 124,000 copies shifted since the last chart week, bringing its total sales to 1.04 million.
One spot beneath them is Lady GaGa with ‘Born This Way‘ at #7 and in at #8 is Beyonce‘s ‘4’ which has now moved 1.58 million copies to date.
At #10 is Game‘s ‘R.E.D. Nation‘ with 190,000 moved worldwide since its release two weeks ago.

@KAT DELUNA FAN, OK i get what your saying, but i think that young money as a record label took over after they made that album we are young money, after that the whole next year was basically all about young money, drake came at the beginning of the year with wayne, and nicki came at the end of the year and wayne released another album also. as far as sales go, young money has some of the highest album sales for rap albums in the past 2 years. only eminem, jayz, and kanye can keep up with their numbers.
Oh but of course drake and nicki will sell more than 300k with their next album, i expect them both to sell atleast 1 million with their next albums, and rihanna never has had a huge first week sales, but she has had consistent sales throughout the year, so that she has sold 1.4 million in the US, but she sells most of her albums World Wide.
If drake and nicki minaj can get world wide appeal they could end up selling over 2 million with their next albums, i think nicki has the best chance of doing that since she has the cross over ability.

i actually agree with your 1st comment and i appreciate how classy you kept it.there are issues with this era but i wouldnt say promo is exactly one of them. now single choices and single releases is a huge one. in previous eras B always had the coattails of a big single to ride on, it dint happen this time, if she had a hit single with the same amount of promo she’s done,, her sales would be higher and noone would say a thing about lack of promo, songs like Countdown or End of time are dancey radio-friendly songs either of them should’ve been released in the summer not BTINH. i dnt mind that she went with RTW 1ST, she took a chance, she’s est. enough to take that risk, it dint work, fine! move on so fast that ppl forget RTW was ever released, 3rd single should be blastin on airwaves by now.
